IMO, this clip doesn't make much sense to me. 1. The plant, a poached fissuratus, has been transplanted into a narrower pot which will leave the soil wet longer than the wider one; 2. The roots did not hold soil and seemed to be in great distress (they are twisted, instead of sinking into the ground), and the capillary roots are completely missing, which indicates that the soil was not suitable for that species of cactus; 3. The soil has not been changed, so you will add the problems of point 1 to those of point 2. I would like to know the current conditions of the plant.

@dodopuipui1440 it does look poached but who knows. They're right about the roots though. It was just the bare tap root when he took it out. Wasn't growing into the soil.

Beautiful collection . . . and absolutely can relate to your feelings up trepidation while repotting that little lady . . . I feel the same way when I repot my older LW’s.

A 60 year old plant deserves a clean & bit bigger pot. New soil as well.

Those are very slow growing even for ariocarpus, have you been watering them with acidic water?

How do you know it is 60 yrs old? Lots of these are poached so it sucks to think it could be stolen from its native habitat.

I really don't think this one is 60 years old maybe only 20 fisuratos doesn't grow that fast
