- A section of clips recorded on a cold and windy January day of 97302 and 37405 on the Aberystwyth logs. Seen at various locations between Borth and Newtown the pair make a fine sight and a racket as they head towards Shrewsbury. In fine style the last clip includes 97302 slipping up Talerdigg bank, producing some flames.
An excellent chase!
Got to ❤ a 37 spitting fire. Great filming.
Totally agree. Many thanks.
These pass our workshop window by Machynlleth station every Friday at around half four. They get held at signal, so get front row seats to them pulling away
Great footage. It overtook me on the straight into Caersws on Friday (26th). I had to wind the window down to listen. Would be sad if it didn't run again I've enjoyed going up to Talerddig or Carno to see it over this last year or so.
Superb footage! Sounded brilliant, especially on the climb up Talerddig! Let's hope the flow continues to go by rail despite the complaints from wildlife organisations. The railway is not a nature reserve.
It will still go by rail. JG.
Typical tree huggers ,they don't care if the trains stop and people loose their jobs ....keep the trains going it keeps loories off the roads which are more polluting and carry less weight all told than the train
thanks for chasing these. really enjoyed watching and listening.
what a sound
Fire breathing 37 a rare sight.
Brilliant video, excellent thrash from the 37s
Great effort mate 😊 I chased it in the summer and those Welsh roads do there best to slow you down! such a shame todays working was the last ever one 😢
Thank you very much. It’s the first opportunity I have had. I have added to the title the last working! It seems to have had a few last workings this train!
@@MrThrash37 bloody Geese! Hopefully one day it will be back but for now it’s no more..
It is for now but back in the spring. JG.
its ran today 26.1
@@jamespoole8425 It has indeed. New full diagram starts in spring, when the former oil siding is refurbished and connected to the main running lines.
Superb, brought back memories of loco hauled passenger trains on the Cambrian!
Superb, well done 👌👍👏
👍
Last working? How come? Nice video mate 👍
Something regarding birds- not the good ones. Unconfirmed gen.
And thanks 👍
There was an article by Cambrian News in November about the trains disturbing geese in the Dyfi Valley. I don't think it poses a serious threat to the flow from Aberystwyth as it sounds like it's just an individual complaining about noise.
It isnt. JG.
The geese thing is a red herring as even the Wales government have sided with rail and pointed out that the geese numbers declined before this train started running and have increased again since it has run. Plus they have pointed out the increased pollution to affect wildlife if transport was by road. Just the usual middle-class bellend who likes living in a developed country so long as all the inconveniences happen where the poor people live and not in their utopian back yard.
Running again today, 16th Feb.
