    Good God, you've grown into such an incredible MAN. I feel a fool for underestimating you when we were kids, Brother. I related more and preferred Chris. I realize I was probably denying my truer match and passion. And Chris cried so well when I could not cry at all. Most of my old friends are dead now, including, Cornell. Thank you for keeping yourself inside, cultivating it like wilderness and please know how grateful I am for you sharing what you're given. There are so many, I don't have a favorite but perhaps most of all 'Society' helps keep me going and I listen to it and you singing whenever I need. Thank you. Live On, Vedder.

      +Tony Byrnes "How can you not say it isn't TREMENDOUS". Such a complex sentence. That would be a great title and line in a song. Anyway, let me try --- This version of Watchtower is not tremendous. I guess that is one way of saying it, nicely.

    • @Tbyrnes3
      @Tbyrnes3 8 років тому +6

      Not sure why you are being sarcastic on this.Either you don't like Eddie Vedder or
      thus version, or your jealous you have no music talent.This cover is Tremendous!

    • @ludlow3d
      @ludlow3d 8 років тому +1

      Tony Byrnes Let's see ... I found your sentence kind of intriguing in its complexity. So I decided to have fun with it, that's all. Since taste is such a relative matter, and your sentence was so emphatic, I just couldn't resist. How my comment could possibly indicate that I am jealous because I have no musical talent is an even more intriguing observation. Would you mind explaining what would lead you to that assumption?

    • @ludlow3d
      @ludlow3d 8 років тому +3

    Eddie Vedder is such an amazing talented musician. Most musicians find it challenging to sing and play guitar at the same time, yet Eddie Vedder is singing, playing lead guitar and harmonica! He goes even further because he doesn't just sing. He sings, with such intensity as if he is feeling every single word. I am in awe!

      +Steven Sass Please explain, Eddie Vedder, the singer in Pear Jam, a band who are influenced by many great classic bands and singers including Creedence clearwater revival, Neil Young and The Who and Brendan Canty, the drummer in Fugazi who are one the most respected bands of the last 30 years.
      How did guys like them kill rock and roll?

    • @stevensass3933
      @stevensass3933 8 років тому +1

      +Persijn de Haan Please read my explanation below. Although I do understand unless one actually lived through how music began to devolve beginning in the 90's this concept may be somewhat difficult to fully understand. I believe in dialogues and even though I will occasionally make an over the top statement, telling someone to "shut the hell up" only seems to signal that you are unable to come up with a thoughtful counterpoint. You can like Eddie Vedder as much as you want, personally I believe the grunge movement did no favors for music in the short and long run. A casual scan through radio stations today provide stark testament to the poor state of what passes for popular music today.

    I wish Eddie Vedder would one day sit next to my bed reading a book to me so that I can softly fall asleep. Outstanding voice!

    Nice cover... love the harmonica. Hendrix and DMB still are my fave covers of this song, but Eddie does it justice for sure.

      I sent you the link for the classic rock show, doing All along the watch tower,,, closer to Hendrix then anyone since Hendrix. If anyone has anything that comparres let me know I want to hear it. The band does other covers also,and they are amazing on them all.

    Bob dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Dave Matthews, Eddie Vedder. Some of my favorite musicians played this song. all versions are so different, yet all beautiful.
