the Andy Griffith Show,,, he was gr8, and the young boy with the Cap is none other than the brilliant Ron Howard-Actor-Writer-Director, and Richie Cunningham in Happy Dayz to us 50+ year olds, I love these old American shows, I grew up with them even here in England,,, yey!.
I’m happy to say, I am a 63 year old man and I can watch this show any time, and I become a little boy all over again. Thanks to everyone who was involved in creating and making this possible ❤
Arnold's father is the Scottish banker from The Rifleman. He talked with a Scottish accent in it, much as James Doohan adopted a Scottish accent for his role in Star Trek.

Let's recap he broke the law, he destroyed public and private property, he coerced others to assist him in destruction. He pretty much did what he wanted all because of an overindulgent father that thought reasoning and buying him things could substitute old fashioned discipline. If he went to jail or juvenile hall for his behavior today what would happen to this boy. The state would beat him and lock him in a cell. Which is the greater cruelty?

While Andy and Barney tend to Mrs. Rodenbach, the boy rides by again and runs down Barney, but too quickly for Barney to identify and detain him. The young boy, whose name is Arnold Winkler, rides to the Taylor house, where Opie is doing chores for a weekly 25-cent allowance. Opie admires Arnold's brand new expensive bicycle, saying that Arnold must have worked hard to earn money to buy it. Arnold retorts that he didn't have to work for the bike; his parents give him anything he wants, including a money allowance of 75 cents a week, without any work.
