Nice stretch on the truck you should put a cross member in between where the two frames meet. It will make it a more solid job. Look forward to seeing the whole project 👍🏽
Many many years ago when i drove cab overs the short wheelbase and tight turn radius was the upside of these rigs. Im curious, why do people want to stretch them out?
Nice work and never mind the keyboard cowboys- when I researched frame cuts and stretches I realized real quick that everyone has an opinion about them, they’re all different and yet they’re all right and everyone else is wrong. Just keep on gettin it done, brother
@@Chief305 Smoother ride - debatable, we use air ride cabs with air suspended seats. Weight distribution - Hmmm! Jackknife - I just drive properly and as for looking "Cool", I think it looks "bloody awful"
You made it way to long. It need some length but not that much. 210 maybe 225 inch wheelbase would been more than enough, .especially with it only being a 86 inch cab.
I am stretching out my semi and one of my frame rails is 1 inch taller than the other so I’m going to slide one inside the other do you recommend welding it also or do you think just grade 8 bolts would be suffice thank you

В России такую работу посчитали бы делом рукожопого мастера!! Я занимаюсь подобным ремонтом и ни когда бы не позволил себе так плохо относиться к грузовику! Варить раму в нахлест это неправильно!! Есть правила по такому ремонту!
I honestly don't see why anyone would stretch a cabover except for the fact that they think it looks 'cool'. That's about the only thing I can think of. The places I go, these stretched trucks would never make the turns or get around.

Looking good, pretty much an update to the rear drives mixing freightliner parts which is cool; almost therapeutic seeing this 👍

@@charliesmotorsports6301 I agree I think it looks awesome myself
Please tell me! What the hell is the point of stretching the frame?
Smoother ride, weight distribution, jackknife with no problem, and it just looks cool 😎

I would do both put the bolts in weld it then tighten the bolts
What are you going to use it for, extra sleeping cabin or something else
It’s going to be a roll off truck
What did you do spread the rear frame ?? They are both 33 5/8 wide frame??
A bottle jack and a block no the rear fld120 frame was just a little wider
Great job! Was the cut off from the fld 34 inches wide? I'm looking to do a cut off with air ride on my 86 flc120.
Thanks a lot yes it was we made the cabover frame fit inside the fld frame
What gear ratio was n the original axles? I have a 76 freightshaker coe with 4.88 gears
Very close to that I think 4.33

cutting without dark glasses... really?
You need a better compressor

Overkill
Time to add another axle in front of the drives and make it a tri drive
