It's important to note that the Steam Deck 2, also known as the Steam Deck OLED, is the latest release. It's unlikely that there will be another version coming out anytime soon. If there is a new version in the works, it would likely take a few more years for Valve to develop it. Additionally, the improvements in the Deck 2 may not be significant compared to its predecessor, the Deck OLED.
Don't hold your breath, according to Digital Foundry, Valve aren't even developing a deck 2 yet. 2 years though...who knows? Clearly it's such a huge success that it may force their hands. I imagine that by then games will be more demanding to the point where there will still be a performance limitation for a handheld device. I'm using mine with a pair of Xreal air 2 pro glasses....honestly using it for games like Forza, which have solid 60fps and gorgeous gfx, it's absolutely incredible.
True, I've never had anything that feels more right in my hands ergonomically speaking, especially when you get used to using the trackpads (although I don't think i've actually used the left TP yet for anything). For anyone who already has a big steam library and wants to be mobile, it's an essential buy.
I was putting off Ori and the Will of the wisps for quite some time and i finally played it on my Steam Deck Oled and it was glorious! The game was practically made for the steam deck.
Legit crossing my fingers for some form of optimization for Final Fantasy, but not holding out much hope. I just wish we had some more details on how the Deck handles some later events and battles(no spoilers). Otherwise, I would have probably taken the plunge already and just weathered the performance if it managed to keep the levels we see in the demo/early sections. I used the Switch exclusively for seven years, I think I have more than a high tolerance level for subpar performances.

@Kbfrmdaa They put in battleye kind of poorly, hackers have already bypassed the Anti-Cheat in a day, and Rockstar did not switch on the toggle for Linux Support, in turn Steam Deck support. So GTA V Single-Player still works, but GTA Online no longer does at least unless Rockstar works with Battleye to get the Anti-Cheat working..

Are you using ultra graphics on all of them?
No, not on the Deck, a variety of Low/Medium.
Small screen you're not going to notice the graphics enough for it to negatively impact your experience.
