As a subscriber for several years now, I’ve gotta say that the editing and scripting for these videos have done nothing but get better and better. I love your videos!
In 1985 (1983 in Japan) when the whole video game industry was on the brink of collapse the NES came out and revolutionised the whole industry and brought video games to the masses. Nearly 40 years later, Nintendo is still here and doing well. So yeah, whether you like it or not Nintendo are the GOAT.
This. The SNES was my first console, a gift from my parents who were not in the tech scene and would have never known about video game systems unless they found it displayed at Costco. Nintendo did for video games what Apple did for mobile audio devices and phones. Created products with near perfect marriage between hardware and software, and marketed them well to get it in your hands. Back in the 80s/90s it was very common to have a terrible experience with computers. Things broke all the time. When Nintendo and Apple came along, this changed. Yes they still _could_ break, and may have a few unpleasantries, but the amount of time and pain I’ve spent fixing something Microsoft built (Windows, Xbox) is time I’d love to have back and wildly more time than I’ve spent fixing Apple or Nintendo devices. Like pretty much never (especially within the last 10 years).
@@c0mpu73rguy of course, Nintendo are beholden to their shareholders only. I’m certainly not saying they’re a perfect company. It sucks, but these companies exist solely to make money, the delightful video games are just an avenue to make their mountains of cash.
The new Pokemon games are an interesting flub on their part. Thanks to hackers, we now know that the reason those games run so slow is due to a lack of screenspace partitioning. Every pixel on the screen is thinking about EVERY triangle on the screen. No optimization. At all. O_O Thankfully Nintendos main devs seem more competent. At least they know how to code for a GPGPU. Or that they drip fed updates over the span of 1.5 years for mario tennis, animal crossing, mario odyssey, switch sports, super mario party and so on and then just stopped. not game enhancing updates, they were content updates that should have been at launch instead of invalidating physical versions. the only thing i hate about the switch is that till this day we still haven't gotten themes or wallpapers. bruh, it's been almost 8 years, countless of updates, and still no themes and wallpapers? nintendo is very petty.
Rather than petty, I think it's just a simple "poor decision." Just look at the 3DS-they went all in on that little thing, from the eShop’s design to the customizable home menu with music and extra decorations like the icons you could earn for free (if you were good enough) from a pretty addictive mini-game. The 3DS was just jam-packed with personality. Let’s hope they bring back whoever was in charge of the 3DS development for Switch 2 and add some damn fun factor back into its OS!
@@GaryDaSnail01not just that, to me a lot of Nintendo's games are of AA quality/budget yet charge what these large AAA companies charge for their games with a lot larger of a staff , higher graphics, full voice acting and just in general a much larger budget to make etc. so the fact that they dont go on a real discount besides short flash sales often bothered me. Sure it's not their fault that over priced game studios are making large budget games and then complain about not making the money back sometimes, but Nintendo does that in other ways by suing anyone that remotely hinders their sales.
I mean why should it go on sale? I never got the logic of sales. It was sold at the initial price and having it on sale is maybe when they want more people to buy it? But if they don't care about that then they can just keep it at that price. What's the issue here exactly?

I mean honestly I am kinda miffed from Nintendo about the constant attack on emulation while they themselves don't provide alternatives. Also I gave up on a switch pro and just got a steam deck and stopped playing games on my switch besides the rare exclusive every now and then, because even indie games started running wack so I gave up. Hard to say if nintendo released a switch pro if it could even compete with a steam deck, even a switch 2 doesn't appeal to me as much since I know it's just going to run around the same level of performance as a steam deck unless it actually provides something new
I'm in the same boat. I do suspect that I'll have to get a Switch 2 at some point down the road though when enough exclusive titles are out that I want to play. Unless some magic sorcery occurs within the world of game emulation between now and that point.
@@Caffeinated_Warrior I think the switch was such a big success because it was so innovative but the next console must just be iterating on what already exists. That's definitely your choice, and one that a lot of people share. My personal choice is to use the items I purchase how I want to use them. I personally dump my switch games onto my ROG Ally and enjoy not only playing them at a better frame rate (and even with cheats & mods on occasion), but having my entire switch, pc, & retro library on a single device. There is no reason Nintendo should be able to dictate how we lawfully use our purchases, but they get away with doing it with such little push-back that they do it without care. Them dropping two nukes on Russ is just gut wrenching. Them killing a legal emulator is just over reaching. It'd be nice to see a large enough group of creators, hobbyists, and whomever else to support each other and band together to put the brakes on Nintendo doing things like that. Don't know if it'll ever happen, though.
Nintendo is _very_ actively punishing people for exercising their legal rights... knowing that nobody has the money to fight back. I can't support a company like that. Their hardware is weak, most of their recent games are mediocre at best, and their bullying tactics make them a serious hazard to their biggest fans.
I don’t know about Nintendo being “the best gaming company”, but of the big 3 they have got the most creative games, more game releases per year and the least amount of flops. They also don’t put micro transactions into console games, don’t sell digital deluxe editions, don’t do preorder to play early, and don’t like AI. Before anybody calls me a shill or biased: I own a Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series S, and a PS5 - I’ve also owned a ps1, og Xbox, and an Xbox 360 before even getting into Nintendo.
The most sold switch game is a deluxe edition of a Wii U game still priced full price almost a decade later though. Yes I'm talking about Mario Kart 8. Nintendo indeed releases some good games but let's be honest, a third or more of the releases are ports and their pricing for everything is ridiculous, even worse than Sony's.
I'm not a Nintendo fanboy but I agree that Pro models or "in between" console generations upgrades are just dumb. There was nothing wrong with selling a console, then a later release of a slim/improved/cheaper model, but "they" just had to try and squeeze a few more dollars out of the market with "Pro" console versions... this will just make the next generation feel like an upgrade to the current "in between" consoles. It's just dumb marketing, specially with economy in its current state.
I get like a small but needed change that bumps up the price by 50 or 100, like the switch OLED, ps4 pro or steam deck OLED, but the ps5 pro is none of those. Graphic upgrades are minor, no cpu upgrades and costs way too much for way too little upgrade. Would've rathered they made a portable/hybrid console instead.

With the way Nintendo goes after modding, emulators, and anyone doing Nintendo videos lately it seems as well these days, I wouldn't say they are the "best" company by any stretch.....
Sony allowed people with modded Vita and PlayStations to use their online services to run pirated games and homebrew, they left it up well after the consoles lifespan. They were focused on their current money maker console, they didn't bother looking back. Nintendo is the only company who slams their own fans with lawsuits for emulating games over 20 years old. Even if you ask permission, they won't even allow a simplistic harmless mod to be used. It feels like they don't care about their fans, as much, now that they've become so successful with the Switch.b
@@TornMD They didn't "allow" it. They repeatedly launched patches to prevent such things from being allowed. The issue is that the fix to get around these was something that Sony couldn't actually undo, because it worked on such a low-level that they literally couldn't patch it out without releasing all-new consoles without the exploit. It was simply too much work to go after something for a system which ultimately was nearing the end of its support.
It’s because back in the day it was the people vs the government. Now they made a two party system so the people fight amongst themselves instead of going against the government.
They consistently put out games that are completed and have the best their developers can offer. Their stuff is affordable and they go out of their way to make sure it stays that way. Easy to say now but when they announced that the Switch revision was « just » a better screen. I was happy. The games are way better when we the gamers are in the same pool. The more we are to be targeted at once, the better product we all get.
As a Sony Pony, I have nothing but respect for Nintendo. Custom hardware breeds exclusive games. Conversely, when you reduce your system to a bunch of PC components, you just sit around and hope everyone else makes the games for you. _That’s why there’s so few exclusives._
My realistically ideal “Super Nintendo Switch” is dual-folding OLED 1080/1440p screens, 4K HDMI output, consistent 30fps throughout all games, larger battery, Hall effect joysticks, and backwards compatibility with 3DS/DS games.
Nope : We already know all the part. It's main screen is 8" 1080p @ 120Hz LCD (no folding) make by Samsung. possibly for Variable Refresh Rate. HDMI out 4k 60Hz, 1080 120Hz.
Lets debunk everything wrong with this. - Dual folding screen is unneeded. Maybe a wireless dock that allows 2 screens but not an extra screen that makes the console way more expensive. - OLED will likely only be added in a premium revision. They MIGHT launch 2 starting models but i kind of doubt it. - 1440p is unneeded in handheld. This along with the OLED dualscreens you were talkimg about would already make the conaole like 500$, even without all that extra power. 1080p is the absolute limit needed. - 4K is not happening. That power was only possible in the PS4 pro, and the switch 2 is allegedly only around the power level of a base PS4. - 30FPS is way too low in this day and age. 60 is standard. - None of this is realistic OR ideal, considering with all of these features the console would be like 700$. Everything else fair though. Especially the hall effect sticks.
I'm sorry.. but I disagree about the pro model because the OLED was a thing and it was WAY worse than a PRO option.. wow a brighter screen with more color! instead of all games being 60fps? Yeah I'd rather have the 60FPS...

Nintendo doesn’t even compete in the war. They do their own thing. Period.
I like to say they are the war
The new Pokemon games are an interesting flub on their part. Thanks to hackers, we now know that the reason those games run so slow is due to a lack of screenspace partitioning. Every pixel on the screen is thinking about EVERY triangle on the screen. No optimization. At all. O_O
Thankfully Nintendos main devs seem more competent. At least they know how to code for a GPGPU. O_O
Ya they don’t have to compete when they sue competitors out of existence
They stay out of the war, and when someone tries to compete with them, they try squashing the competition with legal crap instead of actually competing.

I can't defend sonys practices but let's not forget the switch 2 will release with an LCD screen just so they can resell it a couple years later with an OLED😂😂
people forgot that nintendo is not a tech company, they are a game company, think about this: Sony is tech company meaning they have everything needed to produce high end tech and they still charge you a ridiculous amount for playstation, quick research show that PS5 manufacturing cost is around 450$ each one and that is from sony tech base company which have everything needed to make it, now imagine nintendo trying to do the same but have to set up everything and buying everything from someone else, their manufacturing price would double or triple what sony can make. That why for the longest time Nintendo have quit the arm race and waiting until technology advance and part become cheaper then they make newer console with better performance, nintendo also focus on their game more coz that where their core is, whether you like nintendo or not but they have very few to none flop game in recent years, all game release by nintendo recent year have been from good to GOTY.

I bet Russ & Ryujinx would have an opinion on that.
Yuzu and ryujinx are emulators for the switch which is the primary console which in my opinion is not something I would do
That's definitely your choice, and one that a lot of people share.
You mean fighting to be w the big 2?

(I could go on and on, lol.)
(Also, what im trying to say is they're a company with good games and music, but besides that, they are a horrible corrupt company.)
They aren’t corrupt. They just like money. It’s not like they are doing something against the law or their principles.
@@DrMonkey1224Legally okay does not equal morally okay.
base comment
@DrMonkey1224 uhhhhhh they strike youtubes who would play games, and took their money. Even though the youtubers were in the right.
@@DrMonkey1224 I could go on lol
Easy to say now but when they announced that the Switch revision was « just » a better screen. I was happy. The games are way better when we the gamers are in the same pool. The more we are to be targeted at once, the better product we all get.
What is Xbox gonna sell in a store… the fridge?😂
how are we still getting raycon ads in 2024
Doesn’t ray jay own it 😂
Because mainstream ppl still keep buying Ray-bans.
As a Sony Pony, I have nothing but respect for Nintendo. Custom hardware breeds exclusive games.
Conversely, when you reduce your system to a bunch of PC components, you just sit around and hope everyone else makes the games for you. _That’s why there’s so few exclusives._
If you purchased that thousand dollar stand.. you're a dum dum.
It's a drop off because I have a PS4 and can't justify the price jump, I'll get it on pc
HDMI out 4k 60Hz, 1080 120Hz.
this is like the opposite of the leaks LUL
I just want a consistent 60 fps tbh
30 FPS? Where are you, stuck on the PS1?
Yes, 30 is playable, but 60 is far more ideal. Especially now.
+$50 vs +$200
💩 vs $$$💩
@@timothyn4699 You don't know what the prices would be, but it would be worth it vs 50 more for a nicer screen imo lol
They’re not perfect, but they definitely are the best.
Great video wood!!
WOW TALK ABOUT THE WORST TIME EVER. seriously fanning over any of those companies is truly baffling
You know, that's a Retcon I wouldn't mind, DR. Mario being an actual 3rd Mario Bro xD
Sony: Remember the PS3 launch? We did it again!
Great video! So well-written
1:30 A new Zelda in a few weeks? We literally JUST got Echoes of Wisdom :0 /j
I think the script was a bit old here🙀👍
Pay attention.
He was talking about Echoes of Wisdom
@@MisterMaster4life Obviously. I was kidding.
maybe he started making this video before Echoes of Wisdom came out. because he is shoving Echoes of Wisdom in the video.
@@OliviaWestmorland My bad. That joke went completely over my head 👏
Nintendo didn't choose to not have a pro Switch, it was covid shortages that caused issues.
great title after nintendo takes down the biggest emulators for their consoles that can't be accessed anymore, and sues palworld for being a monster hunter
Nintendos been a joke for a min.
Reminds me of a hobo outside the Sony corp.
Great video man!
I love your creative promotional ads very entertaining, and you have great edits‼️
Nintendo are the best at making games (not counting Pokemon) but also the best at bullying their fanbase and ruining their lives
We know Nintendo dose't own Pokemon but it's one of the best franchise games
Pokemon would probably be a lot better if Nintendo developed it. Scarlet & Violet released as a buggy mess.
Pokemon needs the polish and masterful game design Nintendo is known for.
@@ArianaRosalia even tho they are buggy and glitchy people still love the story and character aslo had fun too
@@ArianaRosalia the reason those games were completely broken WAS because of nintendo. nintendo makes the final call on how much time and money gets allocated to pokemon games and they made them do this. game freak does not deserve most of the blame they get..
@@rumanpal5634 Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed SV. I was one of the lucky ones that did not experience any big issues.
Come on Nintendo we need switch 2 already
What’s with all the leaks, isn’t your mascot a plumber 😂
😭✋️ thats the best one ive heard
because their games are true exclusives as in not having an official PC port
Did you really say that Xbox has Kratos and Banjo ? I’m done 💀
This video title after what's been happening recently is a bit crazy
Watch his old video 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
