Deceive Inc. was the best break-in to dbd players that wasn't tied to a license.

It still surprises me this game was super popular for like. A week. It was like top 10 on twitch for a bit then died off sadly
Because the usual PVP twitch reflex shoot and run crowd discovered ignoring the "don't kill civilians" part is not an option, they couldn't quickly min max the system for speed, and matches are too long for their attention span. So it's gone from Twitch's most played list fast.
@@DetectiveLancetwitch culture makes me kinda mad. Really good ideas die because morons can't appreciate them because they're so used to a single game playing it for 10 hours a day and making way too loud unfunny commentary that anything that requires brainpower is brushed off.

I enjoy that in the lore that there’s no 007esque character available, because he disappeared and that’s why you have his apprentice instead. The game is great though and there is a character for every playstyle!
And u forgot to mention that some stages music are BANGERS 😤🔥
I only got into the game after this vid, and aside from the base music for the main menu, I concur.

I really enjoyed decieve, but I feel like it suffered from having a bit of mismatch in the ways it rewards play styles. If you're looking for a game that rewards stealth and cunning you'll absolutely get that... sometimes, unless you're in a lobby of expert murderers in which case it becomes every other multiplayer FPS I don't have a prayer of succeeding in.
Or sell your soul and play Larcin. That's what I did and the shame is nicely balanced out by that shiny briefcase.
since this man doesn't want more larcins but i love the antics larcinis a french man that steals your stuff and hurls his gun at your face and often vanishing to appear 8 seconds later half way across the map for those who did not know

It’s certainly an interesting idea for a game and I’d say they pull it off quite well. It just sucks that creativity is never valued in the gaming industry until it’s too late.
i still hope that someway, somehow, this game makes it back. this game was my full, complete escape from dbd, like i completely stopped playing dbd because of this game and have not regretted the decision since. whether they change the game to private client servers or somehow go crazy with the marketing, i hope this game regains the huge player base it had when it released.

I know this was a year old, but that one little moment at 6:40 opened my eyes on how ignorant I was about speedrunning community and end up doing a deep dive into the lore of Chibi and other speedrunners from this simple throwaway joke. Bravo. Recently followed your content and Im honestly speedrunning through your videos. Your content is pretty damn good.
Every day I debate giving this game a shot and then I have to go to work and then I remember why I only play mobile games at this point
Been playing it for half a year, hope more folks get into it as it's actually a lot of fun.
Matchmaking is fast but you will recognize a few familiar faces.

This game is def worth a try if you are on the fence about it. But here are two warnings that I actually wish were in the video.
1.) Stealth and sussing people out are viable, but if you get jumped on against people who are good at FPS, you lose, sorry! If you aren't good at fps, you will struggle, so play xiu or larcin maybe.
2.) This leads to my next point, which is that unfortunatley the new player experience for this game is AWFUL. They implmented in newer player matchmaking, but the lower playercount means it won't really do much. You are going to be placed against high level players and get killed two minutes in. If you don't have friends to play with you or to help you learn the ropes, it's very rough.

Great game! I just got into it like 2 weeks ago. I suck at FPS and I've managed to win - the different agents cover a lot of different playstyles from "in your face damage" to "sneak your shots in and then escape invisibly". I think it's still on sale right now for $10 and that is a bargain for this game.

Deceive inc is one of the most fun and replayable games I've ever played, but it feels really bad with this player count for long queue times in Duo's and sometimes impossible matchmatching for Trips. Sometimes the lobbies aren't full. I really think the Dev's messed up not making this game free to play, but like you mentioned in this video, the monetization for the game will be challenging too since everything is pretty much free with in game currency and the alternatives would feel really bad for players of this kind of game...
Its free on ps plus now so the player count should rise

I remember playing this game’s beta. I really liked it but didn’t end up getting it. It feels too much like a great multiplayer game that dies after two seasons. I’ve been burned too many times to risk it again

Dude this game is so fun its severely underrated. Most of the players are on console so the steam charts dont really show the population of the game.

I love Deceive Inc. but it really needs a bot training mode for maps. They can be pretty dumb like getting all the upgrades and intel and running around not caring much about cover, but need to have good "sus" detectors to help new players learn when they're walking about all wiggly and woggly, asking to be shot.
God I want this game to live and thrive I literally tell all my friends about it

update: i did, and it's amazing. devs are working on overhauling the game and advertising it.
i played this game once after doing the tutorial that took like 10 minutes I sat in a 43 minute queue, then at the start of my first game someone ran full speed at me with a AK while all i had was a silenced pistol, honestly unless you enjoy pain this game isn't worth the wait to get into a game and not worth playing when the like 20 people playing are all max level and have all the spawns mapped out

What an absolute unit, to not only give this game the credit it deserves, but to trash the marketing team for how shit they are.
Saying the marketing is bad hits hard; I’d love it but didn’t know it was co-op. Thought it was a first person Among us clone on a yacht.

i have 41,950 credits (28 Octos) so not being able to afford the new characters isnt really a problem
most of my friends who have just got the game usuially unlock the rest within a day or 2, not sure if thats a bad thing but its a thing

@@RowbyVids well me and my friends got into it a few weeks ago and I’d say the UI especially on the buy menu is not beginner friendly. But thanks to an actually good tutorial and many other nice UA-cam videos we quickly got the hang of it.

I know the thoughts of Random UA-cam Commenter #23 doesn't matter, but holy crap Deceive Inc needs a beginner's mode. Picked this game up from a Humble Bundle and while the game is fun and oozes style the new player learning curve is a fucking shear cliff face. All but three characters are locked (two of whom require immense aim to play), all the gadgets are locked, and the game's nonexistent matchmaking puts you against level 500+ Alpha Testers when you're level 5.
I tried this game and fell in love with it for about a month.
I only stopped playing when I realized that some characters are uh...

there's not even 200 peoples playing it now on average...
and becase of that there can't be any fair matchup ...
they should have had a good matchmaking system from the start to retain more players...
no every new players got stopped all the time like be by lvl 300 players if not streamers...
I like the game but I'm a casual player and there's no chance for a casual in that game...
now with that player count any casual gonna get rolled on and see they died to a lvl 500...
I'm lvl 35 and haven't won a single time and most of my experience are like that... bunnyhopping lvl 500...
I wish you were right but I doubt it would...
my original review of that game is that it's made for streamers not for casual... and everytime I just come back to pllay i got confirmed of that review...
