Fun fact: with max stealth, you can't make noise when doing interactions. You can break a lockpick of course, but getting a new one won't fill the noise meter, grabbing a bone doesn't even add to the nose meter, and you can escape your ropes well before the border meter fills up
the devs already know this and are planning on nerfing it
Thanks for the info
@@galaxy-eb9spinstead of nerfing that, they should fix so i CAN GET MY XP AND THE END OF THE MATCH WITHOUT HAVING TO WATCH THE WHOLE MATCH TO WAIT FOR EVERYONE ELSE TO EITHER DIE OR ESCAPE
Escaping the ropes doesn't matter. The family will still be in their intro cutscenes by the time you're able to escape so it's best to speed through that part. They won't get to see your noise notification anyway.
@@solareclipsebetch7652you can actually just leave the match after you die, and it gives you all the XP you would’ve got

DbD is not horror in the slightest. Friday 13 "now dead thanks lawsuit" was more horror because it is heavily killer favored like it should be.

I 100% agree with you that this game might slowly die out after people learn the game and start playing as efficiently as possible. As of right now, playing efficiently as the Victim leaves the Family with little options unless they are coordinated, while playing inefficiently makes the game actually fun. But we all know that when people (especially the Survivors/Victims) play to win, fun isn’t in the cards.
TCSM isn’t even close to being a “DBD killer”, but hopefully they can make changes to make it so that playing “efficiently” doesn’t ruin the experience.
I mean for some people playing so you can win is fun. I don’t see how people always mark that as a negative
It never was a DBD killer and shouldn't be seen as one
tbh if you play efficiently with certain family members you can deny the efficient victim strategies really hard and force them to play slower, which doesn't guarantee a win but definitely makes it more of a cat-and-mouse than a "lol instantly picked 2 locks, opened the fuse/valve and left"
@@Ebbie155because it always leads to a stale meta that almost forces people play a certain way, if they even kind of care about winning.
If the options in a meta is robust and engaging, this isn’t really a problem but that’s usually not the case with most games.
The problem isn't winning, the problem is turning the game competetive and forcing the player do adapt to the Meta or get stomped. For example, n DBD you have over 35 Killers and hundreds of perk, but eventually you have to resort to the usual 10 killers (like Blight, Nurse, Spirit, Plague, Artist,...) and the same 20-30 Perks and Add-ons or you get bullied by the opposition.
It is like the early days of DBD. My first rounds felt awesome. As survivor I had my heart beating IRL while picking a door, since I can't look around like in DBD to see if anybody is nearby. But now its either unfortunate mis-plays where 2 of the killers just murder me on the spot, or I don't see anybody all game and just escape with no effort what so ever. And then back to trying to find a game where people don't exit the lobby.
So many people saying DBD community wants this to fail, I paid $40 for this bitch why would I want that 💀. But def got bored after a few games.

That clip with hitchhiker is why you always save 1 trap with him. I’ve gotten multiple kills with him by trapping that exact loop spot. Survivors don’t expect to go over a spot like that and get trapped.
This game is such a breath of fresh air for a multiplayer game, no FOMO battlepasses or overpriced item shops, just good old fashion level based progression, this fact alone is a serious plus for me on top of the genuinely enjoyable gameplay, GUN are really the masters of making fun asymmetrical horror games, hopefully this game can grow to fruition unlike Friday the 13th
gun are the publishers. Sumo Nottingham are the developers. dont know why not that many people know this. same with f13 gun were the publishers and Illfonic were the devs. what gun does is they design the concepts and get sumo to develop the concepts. I spend most of my time stumbling around the map trying to figure out how to traverse it, because there are so many obstacles that block the killers path, and the maps are hella confusing. If I’m lucky, I’ll hit a victim or maybe even get a kill if I’m super lucky, but finding victims and then finding a path to them is really hard rn. But I also only got the game yesterday and only have like 2ish hours of gameplay under my belt so we’ll see where it goes
Keep playing! Practice bubbas overhead attack and play cook with some endurance of course! Just listening to people on cook is great xp! Map knowledge comes with time, I have about 40 hours and feel confident patrolling all maps :)
Damn, this man dropped some scathing truth with that Tindr fling remark lol. I don't think I've heard a better explanation for how the DbD community reacts to literally every new 'DbD killer' that pops up. Nice.
Honestly it's more the big content creators trying to sell their audience on something that isn't the same game they've been playing for 7 years.
@@BunnychanFarabee I don't agree with that assessment. Gamers, even the younger generations, aren't mindless drones who have no opinions of their own and need to be steered by streamers- they have their own gripes that are entirely valid. A trip through BHVR forums will prove this point quite nicely.
Also, I don't blame content creators for trying to vary their game base and viewer interest. One should never put all of their eggs into one basket.
Content creators are definitely influential, particularly in DbD's case, but even if you were to remove them entirely from the discussion you'd still have the same people acting exactly the same way. Love it or hate it, DbD is the big dog of asym horror and people are going to resent that.
I just hope they actually update the game because it’s such a fun game. I do think escaping is too easy when you know where to go which makes it kinda boring. But I think I can enjoy this game for awhile.

Watching this kinda confirmed my own suspicions about the game, but you’ve also convinced me to give it a try anyways. Just from watching the beta it was apparent this game isn’t gonna last much longer than a year but if I can get 50-60 hours of fun out of it before then, it’ll be worth it.
Now is probably the most fun time to try it, once the meta settles in is where I can see the major issues start
apperently the steam version is the only onw with anti cheat. if you play on xbox game pass through pc you can cheat all you want and not get punished lol
I'm like 25 hours or so and I really like victim and family.
Glad to see you got this one up in time. Good stuff.
I'm super sad he's right in the intro, especially with all the toxic dbd players migrating over to speedrun the game and not be stealthy at all, then be assholes in the post game chat
No way you're blaming the games potential issues on DBD 🤣
@abigbutterstick1780 I'm blaming it on the players, and I see one of them is butthurt
@@monke6395 I haven't played DBD since Wesker, he was the only reason I went back. I have however already clocked about 6 hours in TCM. I find it pretty fun to play. I just think it's idiotic to say the only reason a game has a toxic player base is because they all came from another game lmao. Why is Apex, Siege, LoL, WoW, Overwatch, Warzone, and CoD toxic then?
@abigbutterstick1780 dude, nobody said this game is perfect, I'm just saying a big part that is leading into its eventual downfall is the playerbase. Now, a large majority of players come from dbd, which has one of the most toxic playerbases only rivaled by warzone or league. So let's put 2 and 2 together.
@@monke6395 Of the 5 people I know who are currently playing it I'm the most recent DBD player, and again, that was with Wesker launch. I'm sure a fair amount of people came from DBD but the truth is DBDs player base isn't any more toxic than any competitive game. Honestly about half of gamers are toxic, it isn't the DBD players making the chat toxic and they aren't making the game sweaty.
I personally think it’s pretty fun, they said they plan of releasing dlcs, so I’m exited for new killers. But hopefully they release new maps along with the dlcs. In the movies there’s a fight scene in an abandoned carnival, which would make for a killer map
God man victims have to many crutches, three exits on the surface and a basement exit, shoulder charges basically winning every close encounter and running faster then the killers is crazy
I agree with your points. played a game yesterday and the survivors where friends so all had coms and already knew the map lay out got out almost immediately i got chain stunned which was fun standing there for 5 minutes . after a few rounds as bubba i already knew where survivors spawn mixing what i knew as a survivor also helped. so i find a survivor in the opening minutes and usually secure a kill. if killers don't have coms its basically over for them. I think it will last a month or so im unable to play for 4 days and i know in that time everyone left will know the layout of the maps it wont be a challenge anymore .
I remember when everyone thought bubba was not threatening at all, oh just look at the 4 I’d he gets now😂
I like the game but I played a few matches and most players already had a game plan making it infuriating when most matches people didn’t know what to do so i think what Rowby said will be right
Lol right. I played over 10 but still struggle to get out so I just follow someone in hopes they know what they doing 😂
As long as they keep making improvements and changes it can have a long life like f13
I barely care about or follow DBD, but your script writing is genuinely hilarious and consistently creative. From what I've seen so far I'd put you up there with like SsethTzeentach and Mandalore. Keep it up my dude, you'll go places.
Edit: I may or may not have even realized this wasn't a DBD video for too long to be excusable.
Dude you are based. You help me learn about games I never truly plan on playing but kinda do. So thank you. Have a snickers
Honestly the game’s still fun when you know what you’re doing (imo), it’s just the balancing could use a bit more work. Despite the fact that being able to communicate with your team as family is what’s going to save you from losing, I’ve noticed a lot of people don’t use their mics and/or listen when you use yours.
It’d definitely help to have less infinites in the game. Or at least give the family members better mobility to handle them.
The other thing is when the victims don’t leave and stay at the exits to teabag, especially when you’re dealing with the road exit in the family house. Like it’s such a long walk to push them out, and because they’re being like that, there’s like a 50% chance they’re those asshole kind of players that stun you over and over again.
So your options are:
Make the walk and push them out, potentially getting stunned a bunch and locked out if your teammates don’t listen to comms (has actually happened to me), as well as potentially risking more victims escaping because you can’t turn the generator back on until after the person/people pushing them out are back on the property.
OR
Try to ignore them and turn the generator back on, risking allowing them to hold the game hostage because now you can’t get to them and because there’s no ranged family members, you can’t do anything to force them out unless you go back and turn the generator off again, then make the trip back to the exit and push them out, once again, risking potentially being stunned over and over again.
For me I feel like there should be a timer for how long victims can linger in the safe zones (after the gate and electric floor, but before the part that forces you to actually escape) of these exit gates before a cutscene takes place and forces them back into the match. Not too far in so it’s not unfair, but far enough so they have a decent enough shot at being killed if they’re not being smart.
I hate those types of people, I’m still learning how to play and they love tackling me to the ground to get me to chase them then slamming doors in my face repeatedly and chasing me while I’m trying to kill someone else so they can stun me. Like they will keep going to the same gate and shoving it in my face before I open it then drag their hairy nuts across my eyeballs. The only way I know to counter it is to make enough noise so that another killer will come running to help, cause if you try by yourself your just gonna get a concussion. 🤕 earlier today it happened to me again until I just gave up and ran away from him then after the match he kept sending me messages crap talking to me about how bad I am.
I bought it first day and instantly loved it and I already have no life
Sweet, another upload from my favourite twitch compilation channel
Rowby casually eating pizza and playing 13 sentinels is pure chad. Love it
I tried DBD years ago but honestly, this game has me wrapped around its finger. Last night I had a game (I'm still fairly new) where I ended up doing a generator escape, then sissy was all up my butt having to kite and run. Eventually she just sat at the gate and I couldn't escape. I was hiding in the brush just looking and thinking of my next move. I finally decided I'm going to try another exit. As I start to move, it said I was the final survivor. I tell ya what, my butt was so puckered. Anyway, I snuck around and managed to pull off a gas station escape. It was the most fun and intense anxiety I've ever had in a game. Just thought i'd share :D
I ain't gonna let that Persona bit go. Funny ass moment lmao, good stuff. 10/10. Keep doing it. Big loves
This video aged well lol
Only found one glitch so far where one of my Family team members got inexplicably stuck in the wall and was just aimlessly flailing his knife in the air, this was PS5
I'm happy to know my initial decrease in interest as the scares got less effective wasn't totally unfounded. It is weird how quick it happens, though, like I'm a total wuss, and it only took me three games to get over the screaming papa and this game's version of a terror radius.
Right lol. The screaming grandpa is like one second and you just stay still
It’s fun that I’m level 0 playing against level 10 families
Jerks guide to teemo would be awesome!! Or any other champion really, i hope we'll see it one day❤
Excellent as always. Glad to see you branching out.
The way he presents the guide and how things work makes it seem like he played the bare minimum to get enough footage to make the video
This game is so interesting atm. Not because all the crazy potential it has. It’s interesting because in 2 weeks one side is going to be so busted that it’s basically unplayable. But at the moment I’m not sure which side. I wanted to say survivor but then I realized as killer if I know every map like the back of my hand it’s not really hard to figure out where people will be at any time and a bubba at the exit gate opened and 2 chase killers with speed boosts (or sissy with high damage and slow down poison) no one is going to survive an engagement.
That depends on having a coordinated team. In solo que? Lol
as a cook main i've already mastered family team, all i really need to do is equip scout perk, place padlocks everywhere, and camp outside while leatherface pressures the victims out of the basement. makes it practically impossible for victims to escape especially on gas station
@@angelrosas3724 it will at first but bubba can play solo. High pressure early likely will get you a kill and can get grandpa awake before anyone leaves if the are being chased. I’ve had a couple matches where I was bubba and I was playing with 2 brand new players (they played their first matches with me) and how I played early guaranteed a couple kills. They didn’t know the maps but with aura perks and just being in general areas around exit gates was enough. Full survivor kills 90% of the time against lvl 12+ players who at least were in 2 mans.
Bum rushing pressure or car battery exit is the strongest strategy I think and once you guard those correctly it’s just a waiting game.
Things likely will go back and forth and I like the game as it is but I think the lack of nuance in this game is going to make the skill cap met really soon and the strongest side will be obvious.
@@LiquidFart69420 yah I agree. Bubba is the most important player atm. A good bubba makes everything either east or really hard. You can sometimes handle a wandering hitchhiker being wherever but a bubba finding no one makes to much dead time where smart survivors are making exits available to everyone.
I don’t think this means nerf bubba as I like the dynamic but I get why he’s mandatory
@@Idontknowwhat2type yeah the match definitely depends on how good leatherface is. if leatherface is out of the basement in the first 5 minutes that's already a huge red flag

0:48 Never in my life did I expect to see a Heaven’s Gate joke and I love you for doing that
Sidenote regarding the TCMs youve seen, watch the 2003 remake, it is still one of my favorite horror movies
I already feel like the fun is gone especially when you play as family because in most of the matches I’ve been playing all the other players playing as victims just want to do now is taunt and troll and bully the opposing team and not play the game normally. Like if keep playing and I get a dollar for every time victims just stay at the exits when they are open and t bag and taunt, then I’d quickly become a rich man.
Great vid man!
I truly believe this game will have a bright future. You’re very quick to say that the launch of a game will die out within a year, mind you Dead by Daylight was extremely boring and pretty unbalanced when it first came out. Overtime I believe Texas Chain Saw will offer a lot because this is from the same developers who had so many ideas and concepts for Friday the 13th but had to ultimately scrap it due to the lawsuit.
F13 lawsuit is a cope. That game’s launch was awful and Jason was a joke for the longest time with experienced counselors. TCM feels like the same thing is happening honestly. Experienced victims are going to make playing family not fun anymore.
This game is sooo good!! Long may it live IMO
A lot of people are saying this game is heavily family sided and I don’t see it.
I’ve been having a blast playing the family with friends. I’ve always enjoyed killer way more than survivor in Dbd and now I can play killer with friends. Also helps bubba is my favorite killer to play in Dbd.
I think if they keep updating and balance the game it can live pretty long in my opinion
there are 4 ways to escape and more objectives than generators that you sit on and hold a button for 2 minutes for. at least there's more depth. and there isn't a hit twice then hook mechanic for every victim. and playing different victims actually means something
I really enjoy your content, sorry to hear UA-cam messing up ur monetisation
"I need stay in one spot while vulnerable" - well, it isn't too valid considering DBD and sitting on gen lol
Feel like they looked at the landscape of asymmetrical horror games, had worries about longevity, but made the game anyways with faith and honestly just passion. I’d say there is definitely a worrisome future they’ll have to work hard through, but anything could happen going forward if they push solid updates. I’m rooting for them.
My first match was pretty shit tbh
I had no idea what the map was like and also didn't know you were supposed to turn on the car battery and stuff, so I nearly turned off the car battery until someone found me and got mad. I also didn't know where a ladder was that a victim was climbing up, so the guy playing Leatherface attacked me with his chainsaw repeatedly 💀
I eventually just gave up and decided to look at a guide
Im glad the game is still alive and well
I wasn't intending to buy this game but I was curious about how it's supposed to work.
I don't really see this as a DBD competitor nor having a long life span, but it seems like it's going to be some dumb fun right now, and in 2 years when you get a group of friends to play it with.
apperently the steam version is the only onw with anti cheat. if you play on xbox game pass through pc you can cheat all you want and not get punished lol
Not sure if anybody pointed this out yet or not. That movie you referred to as a remake is incorrect. It was a sequel to the first film. The actual remake was made in 03 and it also had a prequel called Texas chainsaw massacre the beginning.
this is a comment for your channel demonitization player because it had comments disabled: apparently people getting attacked by youtube is happening, at least it's not a threat to your channel being deleted.
Yeah just realized the comments on the latest video were disabled but apparently rowby didn't disable the comments seems like yt themselves are trying to silence him
Honestly i really wanted to play the game, but as soon as I opened it there was a NOVEL in the tutorial section. There was so much shit in it, I'm too scared to play because I won't know what's happening. You've cleared things up for me, hopefully I can get the courage to play
Just fumble through it until it starts making sense. That’s what I did and I finally got a kill last game. I still have absolutely no clue what I’m doing, but at least I’m making progress
Johnny and Sissy felt well designed enough, to the point me and my friend actually looked up which movie they were from. We were shocked to find out they were original!
What a great guide, 5 out of 13 mins spent not being a guide and rather some discussion about the game’s future
This game definitely has potential. They just need to put more effort into what they need to make it reach its max potential.

The 2013 film isn't a remake, it's a sequel, picking up barely an hour after the first movie ended. Even if you only made it through the first 8th of the movie, you'd know this because the opening seconds of the movie recaps the events of the original with a mix of HD touchup original footage, and 1:1 recreations of original footage with new actors, like Bill Mosley who replaced Jim Siedow who passed away in 2003.
As a solo player that’s always put against a 3-killer stack, I’m already losing interest by dying the first minute of every match. I can only imagine what a 4-stack survivor against 3 solo killers would be like x_x

Ive been a Teemo main since the closed beta and I have a mighty need to see where this is going
He was right about playing it while ppl were dumb, I feel people making builds for the game ruin the experience and people now 3 weeks in treat it like dbd and exploit everything that can mess you up, I adore this game, but it just feels toxic rn
It’s fun when you aren’t playing against victims that have watched every youtube tutorial on how to escape in 45 seconds. You can tell this is the case if all four of them immediately start making a fuckton of noise from the beginning of the match and T-bagging during sonar. If you observe this behavior as killer, you may as well just leave the match and find a new one because they are all going to either valve/basement immediately abusing every infinite loop on the map, or be toxic. Probably both. NO CHANCE you’re coming out of this match with any fun.
When the victims are casual players, the killers get to play casually too. But when victims from the getgo decide they’re going to play toxic, EVERYONE has to play toxic or it’s an easy 4-man escape. It’s sweat up or lose, basically.
honestly, if the developers make consistent great updates I can see it become more popular then DBD(man am coopping so hard)
I’m having fun, I like the aspects of hitchhiker being able to crouch and hide and follow survivors. Really fun game so far.
It's gonna be like gum- get some nice refreshing mint, but after a little it goes away, then you take another piece when you need it again and its at its top freshness-
It's gonna be like a little mind easer when other games (mid by daylight) get a little old, or stale whether you hate the game in some way, or you just don't want to wait for that damn dlc to come out lol.
So I've played like 20 hours of this game now roughly. And I think asides from a few issues it has the main problem is when it comes time to release a new family member they can't really do that because there's only so many bad guys in the tcm franchise. So as soon as people get bored of the avaliable killers they will return to dbd for the release of alien and what comes after etc. But this game is nothing like dbd for the main part.
I believe the character "Sissy" is an original character, same is true with Johnny, and all of the victims too according to my friends, so they can technically keep this going for much longer than "simply the movies" :)
a persona reference that isn't about persona 5? i never thought i'd live to see the day
Every match I play sucks. No one talks. No strategy. Game does nothing to explain anything.
When I saw this video, I thought it was on the Dead by Daylight incarnation of the Texas Chainsaw. I literally did not know this horror movie got a whole game just for it.
Just like what you said about this game and VHS, I’d say the same could be said for the Evil Dead game if anyone still remembers that from a year ago
the game is meant to played as a party game. it’s not a “meta” game, or a “comp” game or anything like that, so frame data and all that other crap is just kinda null… it’s fun and fine in its current state and it’s only gonna get better 😭
11:11 Holy shit dude SO MANY DBD Content creators do this and its hilarious how much they just refuse to uninstall the game
Honestly I think this game has a bright future with things being put in place so it dosent repeat f13 made by same creators being something fresh and new in the asymmetrical type games honestly 3 - 5 years of support at all time maximum
Imo the internet ruins everything for itself, even when something is good. He literally starts off the video with "this game is a shooting star fleeting away." Why does it have to be that? Why can't it be a good horror game that's linear enough for everyone to be able to play? It may be repetative but so is every other horror game ever and it's also a lot less buggy than dead by daylight
With existence comes the need to achieve and to overcome, to be better than or to reach for the starts. For horror games like TCM and DBD? that means being as toxic and efficient as possible
@akechi6200 I find it a challenge to play like a decent human in those games, but honestly playing with morals and still winning while others leave their morals on the wayside makes me feel like a better player and I cherish that.
@@ahnjoemama7104 that's true, but.. I've never once won against a group with more than one survivor with a flashlight and the need to T-Bag and click at me every time I turn around
It's just human nature for some. They get bored and realize being a hateful prick doesn't effect them in any way and is easier and faster gratification. Rowdy actually covers this in one of his DbD guides
@akechi6200 I just think people aren't skilled enough to play normally so they have to be asshats to make the playing field even, video games say a lot about people's character because you can be as shitty as you want with almost no consequences and vice versa
@@ahnjoemama7104 Agreed
Bro I have no clue we’re to go lmao I’m lost 😂
Just a quick tip, please do not search things quickly at the start, because you'll awaken grandpa and make it much harder for other victims. Thanks.
Not really grandpa any shouts one unless he goes into level 1 so you get both your tools before bubba can get into position
Baiting killers to go into basement early game before they can set it is actually a great survivor tactic
Man thank your Patreon people at the end 😭
Its up to the people to keep this game alive and i love it im a dbd fan and was tire about the unbalance specially all the nerfs on the survivor sise. And finally i found the game. Yes vhs was cool but lack content specially cosmetics thats what sells. And also it was a lil hard to kill the monster specially because the would use a breakable ability and cooldown was to fast. But this game is also good because you dont depend on perks to survive.
Don’t forget Sissy also can climb through gaps and stuff, also spawns near the car battery to turn it on. I am slightly ashamed to say I main her already and know a good amount of the maps and what to watch. I’m sorry casual players
Fundamentally it's going to depend on how much the devs are willing to update and improve the game. DBD has lasted this long because of these factors.
DBD has lasted this long cause there’s excitement in the game. For survivors, you can tea bag, taunt the killer, flashlight them, saves, loop then hard and it feels rewarding. For killers you can do some of that or loss ppl off by camping and tunneling, make them think they’re going to win but kill all with end game perks. This one doesn’t have any excitement with looping since it’s pretty much non existent and no saves, doesn’t feel exciting killing someone or escaping.
@@Timothee_Chalamet_CMBYN Right and DBD improved on these things over time by implementing new updates and fixing bugs. Like I just said.
I've seen a dbd video and seeing your review kinda makes me question the game but i hope running at a survivor while they are crouching while revving my chainsaw will put fear into the enemy
DBD players are the worst people and ruin every game their "community" touches. They can never just enjoy something.
My only issue is how completely tight the map it's good for survivors but it's a absolutely nightmare to get around, everything is just blocking opening so irs not clear if your in a dead end . Killers should just have a map like its our property we should know it like the back of our hands.
Dark areas are just too dark, if you have hmr which changes color to be darker before you enter a dark spot it's literally blinding dark then during your way in this blindess isnt removed unill your too far into rhe room and wasted tio much time
The game just came out and somewhat a still work in progress. Within a year everything will run smooth
Funny how in this warning at the beginning i went to play the game and came back lol
Unfortunately, I think DBD has got an unbeatable monopoly on an incredibly niche genre.
Since DBD has content from Left 4 Dead, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw, Nightmare on Elm St, Saw, Evil Dead, Scream*, Stranger Things*, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Hellraiser, Ring and Alien; it has a near-universal appeal.
There are few licences left for other games to adapt, and no single licence will have the long-term appeal of DBD. Plus, it means purely original games will not pull people away from DBD.
