You have to laugh at him as he makes fun of our expectations, it's so nothing, it's ludicrous, the false start on the refrain, the hands and eyes. I think people who don't get it are people who can't laugh at themselves.
George died when I was 2 years old. Thinking about how I was never able to enjoy this wonderful man while he was still with us fills me with a sudden, inexplicable sadness. But it makes me even more grateful for recordings like this so I could still enjoy both his music and his amazing personality nowadays. Live forever, George!
