I’d probably go with a 31 just knowing how I like to shoot when I’m not hunting. If I’m strictly shooting from the saddle and not going for any shots past 40 I’d probably go 27 just cause of how small it is
I shot the Nexus 4, Hoyt Ventum, and this bow today. Ended up purchasing the Mathews V3 31” in OD Green. It is difficult to purchase a bow with so many great offerings.
What was the deciding factor? I’d love to hear your thoughts on each bow. I was supposed to go shoot all those bows today actually but didn’t get there. I’ve shot the V3 31 already and loved it
@@voxpopuli905 I actually purchased a brand new 2017 Prime Centergy shot it next to the black 5. Just felt amazing. Really want to shoot the Nexus 4 I think they revamped the items that pushed me to the Centergy over the B5, I'll have to shoot the V3 alongside it, to see where they stack
Mathews 2021 strategy is if you didn’t by the VXR last year, here’s a little reason to get its offspring. Hopefully in January they have something in the 33-34 ATA to go.
Great review keep it up! I'm ordering mine soon but i'm not sure between 28 and 28.5 inches draw, what is your wingspan ? That'd help me choosing seeing how it fits you!
I saw on another video that the arrow vanes werent anywhere near the center roller guard. Weird that yours are touching. I feel like Mathews would have that figured out and not drop the ball on something like that. I wonder if its gonna be a case to case issues and some will rub and some wont? Thats lame if thats the case!
@@HaxenHunt yeah doesnt seem like a well thought out idea but we will see. Awesome content as always! Hope to some some VS videos soon with the new bows! 🤙🏼
Listen up bud, it shot through paper perfectly. And I hit the target but ended up hitting a metal band that holds them together. It’s not sighted in at all but it was shooting perfect
@@voxpopuli905 oh yea thats mighty nice of him lol I almost got the vxr this year but it was so close for there news one to come out so I waited so now time to get one order after I find some where to shoot one now where around me has any yet
I think it’s important to state that in the past 3 years the top companies have really hit a level where the bows are so good and elite level that there is not going to be large jumps at this point. It’s not from a lack of creativity and innovation it’s from the bows are almost as good as they can get. The top companies are now staying on their already successful platforms and making small improvements every year as that’s all that’s left to do.
What length are you cutting your arrows to with that rest. I am going to get a 28.5 draw length and want to order my arrows ahead of time. They come pre cut and I need them to tune the bow.
Mathews said longest riser to ata length, not the longest riser. Supposedly it's the same size riser as the 31.5, according to the Chris bee video at mathews he posted a few days ago.
@@HaxenHunt No worries, This Coronavirus needs to end fast it is effecting everyone and everything terribly, Stay safe and healthy and keep putting out the vids.
New subscriber here. Like what I see on your channel. I am still shooting the Mathews Halon 6. Each year I look at specs of the new bows and my Halon in weight and speed is if not faster and weight I see no reason to upgrade to a new Mathews. Love my bow so why change to the latest when the specs have not changed.
What is the click noise when you draw
Love mine
so if you had to choose the 31 or 27 and hunted out of a saddle which one would you perfer?

V3, VXR, or prime black 3?
Black 3
I’d choose the nexxus but that wasn’t an option in the question hahaha
@@voxpopuli905 they don't need to do a bridge riser, they just use stiffer aluminum than the competition. Have had 80# and 65# option for years.

That bow will tilt forward with the sight on it but naked it is balanced.
The sight that’s on it weighs nearly nothing but yeah I totally feel ya!

get a Traverse
@@MidwestBowAndArrow is the TRX (34) the new traverse?
@@Angel.Custodio not really. the TRX is a target bow and costs a lot more than a Travese.

Nice clean cut video man!!
Biggest complaint I have heard for the new Mathews is where the cable guard is. My pro shop said it makes mounting the rest a PITA.
Yes.... for instance the hamskea trinity doesn’t fit totally right
@@HaxenHunt it doesn’t fit ? I believe Chris Bee has one on his set up said it’s close but it still works
It fits, but you don’t have any adjustment toward the riser if you need it
@@HaxenHunt oh I gotcha I went back and watch his V3 set up video again
@@HaxenHunt basically sounds like you can't torque tune the rest. Not ideal. I run my rests further back.
I got the v3 just because of the draw cycle. I love it. Tunes better than any bow ive ever shot.
Draw cycle is smoother!

The riser length is the longest they ever made compared to the ata, why does nobody mention that?
I know you do mostly flagship bow reviews but could you compare some mid range bows? "Bowtech amplify vs mission mxr"
If I get access to them I’ll for sure do it!
