“It’s getting a little gay in here” the lyrics: SHE took me to the sky. SHE Showed me all the stars Soojin (the blonde girl in black dress) during the shooting: “my role is seducing the girls”
The specific lyrics "Oh my god / she took me to the sky / Oh my god / she showed me all the stars" sparked listeners questioning as to whom is being referred to. Soyeon, lead singer and writer of the song, responded that the imagery and lyrics represent love in many forms, and that she will leave it to the listener to interpret it their own way..."I didn't want to limit that 'she' to a certain being or a certain definition, so it's open to anything. I believe that all kinds of love are valuable and must be respected. That's why I don't want to limit 'she' to something specific." - Soyeon talking about using 'She' in "Oh My God.

Well, some people say the MV shows the story of Lilith - the first woman. Lilith (the blonde girl) is seducing other girls to join her. Minnie (the girl in the beginning and end) is trying to hard to resist, but fails. Soyeon (the rapper) chose to stand with her - that's why she was reborn. Miyeon represents the polar oposite of Sojin (Lilith) and Shuhua represents the girl who is pure - who was able to resist the temptation.
I've watched a theory analysis in a korean channel of this and idle's official account commented a smiley. It's somewhat same to what you are saying but is more detailed. It says there that it is somewhat connected to eve and adan. Soojin is the fallen angel "satan" that seduces or tempting the other girls. That is why there is an apple in the mv. White represents good and black represents evil. At first the other girls except soojin are all wearing white clothes to represent that they all are good. In the first scene, minnie is being drag because she somewhat committed a sin and is to be judge and that red liquid and wine is somewhat connected to the teaser of minnie saying salvation and in the bible "the blood of Jesus Christ" or wine represents for salvation but eventually refuse the devine salvation because she said that she is not a prisoner anymore. Soyeon were also good then turned into evil that is why she is wearing black dress on the chorus. Ugee were Minnie's past when she is good and was judged by Miyeon, that's where ugee fell, who is the a god or goddess and that altar she is sitting somewhat gave description that she is a god or goddess and that altar is also in soojin's back when she is dancing that's because they are the opposite of each other. I can't really recall the explanation with shuhua. But i think shuhua, if i'm not wrong, is somewhat connected to soyeon just like ugee and minnie.
this is someone else's theory in the original video, not mine. Just want everyone to know Soojin: The main demon in the song. Also, in the video Soojin holds a white apple, that symbolizes the Adam’s apple as a temptation. She tries to tempt everyonein in darkness using lust. Lust is also one of Dante's nine circles of hell, where there are strong winds. In the video, there are red objects that are floating around her, and might have blown by the strong winds aroung Soojin. And she was in love with Shuhua, who is a pure deity. She tries to fight darkness to overcome her, that’s why her nose bleed. After Shuhua's bridge, where Soojin was whispering to Shuhua, then Shuhua suddenly changed into Soyeon. Where Soyeon pretends to be Shuhua. And also in Shuhua's part, she was on the same setting with Soyeon, in the barbed wires, shows that Shuhua in the barbed wires was actually Soyeon. According to Dante's 9 circle of hell, in circle 8, which is fraud, their punishment was being poured with excrement (human / animal wastes), which is also the last chorus where Soyeon was in a pool of a mud-like substance. Soyeon rap verse “ Oh god how can you put in this temptation is it a call from hell?” Yuqi: a disciple of Shuhua and Miyeon. She was a loyal disciple of the two, but then she was attracted to Soojin. She peeks into Soojin and turned herself into confusion. There is also a cup of wine, it connotes purity. Accoring to the Biblical reference , drinking a cup of wine can link you to a holy figure, and it was Miyeon, but it was too late. In Yuqi's second verse, her tears became blood, which means that she had committed sin. When Miyeon knew about it, she banished Yuqi, where she falls, leading to the end of her life, maybe? Thats why here lines where “ I fall head over heels for you and let you toy with my heart” Miyeon: Deity of pureness. She knows all, and she is above everyone. She punishes everyone that committed sin. Miyeon is in tears, because of despair that she cannot prevent everyone from darkness. Shuhua: Another deity of pureness. She was in love with Soojin, which is a demon. Despite their differences she still deeply inlove with her, so as Soojin. There is also a part where Soojin whispered "Ab Imo Pectore" in Shuhua's ear, which means "From the bottom of my heart" or sincere love. That's why Soyeon was envious on her. cre:SOMEONE IDK MAN

@@jesussavesblackpink4357 Minnie wants to be with Soojin so she like soyeon joins the dark side but she struggled more till she couldn’t handle it and killed herself going to round 7
I have my own little interpretation where each member represents different ways people react when they explore their attraction to the same gender. One denies it all their life (Miyeon as god), one likes it and accepts it right away(Soojin as the devil), one gets depressed and comitts suicide (Minnie), one is angry and blames the person that ' made' her this way (Soyeon), one is scared of how people will react but accepts it (Yuqi), one is actually straight but she was just curious (Shuhua as she was the only one besides Miyeon that was not swayed even when Soojin almost kissed her)
I don't get the miyeon one, why'd you say "miyeon as God" idk what you mean by God denying it his whole life. (No hate, I'm just genuinely confused on why you said "miyeon as God" when he isn't even gay at all)
@@mireya5085 i think they met that she's holy, since she never "submitted to sin" like the others. she's on such a high throne though, and is always shown in queen-like attire it's like she "won". in my interpretation of the video she looks sad, like she got to where she wanted but she's alone and has a hard time feeling happy.

From what I heard Soyeon say at their concept promotion, Soojin (the blonde) is an evil goddess with a cult of followers trying to possess the other girls, and Soyeon and Minnie are going insane as it happens (almost schizophrenic), with Soyeon going the happy/ecstatic kind of insane and Minnie the depressed/despairing kind of insane
About the lesbian energy, they could have been a little more subtle, they could have picked any other members but no. THEY LITERALLY PICKED THE ONLY COUPLE EVERY NEVERLAND AGREES ON SOOJIN AND SHUHUA ARE THE STANDARD FOR GAY PANIC
I fell in love with the whole concept. Along with RV's Psycho, I'm totally rooting for this one. Glad that this is nominated for Best K-pop of 2020's VMAs. When I first listen to it on its release, what I thought was that it was just another level.
It's refreshing seeing someone have a positive feedback about religion. For me, the goals of having a religion is to be a better person. If you're still being a prick and pestering others to be a prick like you then you're doing it wrong.
I just wanted to say that I love the way you handled reacting to this as a Christian. You didn't avoid reacting to it, you appreciated the art in the video, you stated your view, and ended it with an invitation to get to know Christ. It was done in a smooth way without judging anyone, it was perfect. Thank you for that, love all your videos.
there are a lot of theories for this MV, but for me, this one has the best "background" in my opinion; so, many of us see in the mv symbols of catholic resemblance. crosses, angels, literally the title, sins, apple, devil & hell... shortly, the two members (minnie & soyeon) in white outfits & surroundings in the begging of mv are fallen angels, they were tempted by and lost with the devil who is the member with blonde hair (soojin). in the end of mv, they are laying in blood (your words they got out of womb), which is actually hell - the hall of flesh it's called i believe. there are also many explanations for other members, but i wanted to point out these scenes.
@@JordanOrme important: Soyeon (the rapper) is having fun in "hell" (gay desire), but Minnie (the first girl in the MV) tried to fight the desire, but failed.

I really love this song, and it gives me an eerie feeling, which it is supposed to give. I was very curious so I googled the text in English and IT SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE with the gay lyrics. SHE took me to the sky. SHE showed me all the stars. Soojin (blonde girl in the black dress) during shooting: "My role is seducing the girls". Soyeon (rapper and short black hair) during an interview said that the song was about being true to yourself and setting yourself free of the dark thoughts. This video is my favorite from I-dle along with Nxde, so I love everything about it. they are my favorite artists!
Soyeon is always licking something in their music videos. It’s so satisfying lol. In case you didn’t know, Soyeon is the rapper who writes and produces most of their songs. Minnie and Yuqi also write and produce. Soojin, the main dancer, does some of their choreography. Gidle is a top tier gg. Thanks for your reaction and analyses. It was very informative.
the group leader and the producer " soyeon " have talked about the meaning of the song and she said : the story is about 2 girls who is trying to be the most powerful people in the universe " soyeon and soojin " and there was a princes who had superpower of recreating anything " yuqi " and she had a sister who can make illusions like ( fire - people - water ..... ) " miyeon " and they had a sidekick who knows how to make there power grow " minnie " so soyeon kidnapped her to teach her how to make her power grow ... and there was " shuhua " , she was the strongest she can fly , be invisible almost every single power in the world so she was so strong ... soojin was trying to kill her to be the strongest person on earth , but yuqi , miyeon and shuhua were at the same team so they tried to kill soyeon and soojin but they were to late because soyeon turnd minnie to a monster and she killed her but at the end soyeon and soojin was killed because soojin was going to kill shuhua but when she tried she relies it was an illusion by miyeon . the end . it's really deep i know .... :)
I think that ending was her offing herself aka “freeing” herself, because then the same girl is shown in the clay or “rebirth” scene as you said. So she freed herself from her restraints show in the white scenes throughout and became the darker confident version of herself at the end

the best thing about the song and the video is how soyeon purposefully left us wondering what exactly what going through her head with this (other than lesbian) because it can be interpreted in so many ways. there’s so many theories about shuhua being “temptation” or her being soyeon’s ultimate love interest and an unrequited love because shuhua’s persona is divine and untouchable. there’s so many theories and dissections and it’s all so genius
First time I watched the MV, I was just enjoying it without thinking hard. But, since you brought it up to the table, I really enjoy every second of it and give a lot of thoughts. From you, I learn how editors give so much thought and effort to their work and how they try to tell story behind the song by giving various kinds of shots, cuts, effects, etc. I’m glad that you make this content where the audiences aren’t just watching but they also learn something new. I STAN you!!!! Looking forward for next video of yours : )
I'm a christian bisexual and your videos actually make me so happy, like hey I found another christian person that isn't homophobic! Great! Thank you for amazing content..
Hunny it's okay to be homophobic, not everyone has to expect LGBTQ+ people because in most religions that's is a sin. Now I do believe it's a sin but I would never treat someone bad and different just because they are dating someone they want to. People shouldn't say being homophobic is bad because everyone has different out takes on certain things. So if someone is homophobic don't be rude or called them an uptight Christian or anything like that because that is there beliefs and religion, so people shouldn't try to change that.
@@jasmineslaughter8419 well in all honesty.. I'm not here to fight battles, but homophobia means a fear and hatred of mainly people with another sexuality, but is also used for most LGBTQ+ related hate (although there are seperate words like transphobia and those, but I believe most people use homophobia for most things because they don't know all the different terms😭). Now, the thing is, christians believe in loving and respecting all humans as they are ALL created by God. This doesn't cancel out people who love someone of their own gender or someone who loves someone who was born in the wrong body etc. I have friends that, because of religious reasons, consider it to be bad and stuff, but they're not necessarily homophobic since they love and respect me ANYWAY, because that's the true christian way. Hate is a sin as well, don't forget that sweetheart.
I’ve always found the MV visually pleasing but while watching this analysis I literally got goosebumps! I got to appreciate the MV and the ‘story’ more
With these meanings and explanations, I appreciate Soyeon more now for being the leader, songwriter, rapper, and producer. I did admire her but it's so mindblowing now. Also those other members are great!!! Yuqi my bias ❤️❤️ Thank you Jordan ❤️❤️
never knew you were a fellow christian. furthermore, i really enjoy your professional and detailed view on the kpop mv's. It makes me appreciate how much work and thought went into editing. Whenever i see mv;s in future i can pay attention to those applied techniques that you shared with us. Thanks. On a side note, it seems that kpop in general focus a lot on using maximum editing and cinematorgraphic techniques to match the song arrangement and lyrics, whereas jpop keep it more simple and fresh. Cool way to share your experience with Christ. As a Christian, I often pondered the portrayal of desire in this video. I believe we all are tempted and it does lead to destruction.
One denies it all their life (Miyeon as god), one likes it and accepts it right away(Soojin as the devil), one gets depressed and comitts suicide (Minnie), one is angry and blames the person that ' made' her this way (Soyeon), one is scared of how people will react but accepts it (Yuqi), one is actually straight but she was just curious (Shuhua as she was the only one besides Miyeon that was not swayed even when Soojin almost kissed her)
That's actually really beautiful, thank you for that interp
Wooow this is great interpetation I love it!!
I don't get the miyeon one, why'd you say "miyeon as God" idk what you mean by God denying it his whole life. (No hate, I'm just genuinely confused on why you said "miyeon as God" when he isn't even gay at all)
thats beautiful :(
@@mireya5085 i think they met that she's holy, since she never "submitted to sin" like the others. she's on such a high throne though, and is always shown in queen-like attire it's like she "won". in my interpretation of the video she looks sad, like she got to where she wanted but she's alone and has a hard time feeling happy.

But doesn’t organized religion really only accept ONE sexual orientation? Them and their sinister assed, creepy pray away camps?🤔
I fell in love with the whole concept. Along with RV's Psycho, I'm totally rooting for this one. Glad that this is nominated for Best K-pop of 2020's VMAs. When I first listen to it on its release, what I thought was that it was just another level.
Right!?
Yeah a lil sad they're probs gonna lose to bts cause army be out here, but for my girls to be nominated makes my heart happy! 💛
It's refreshing seeing someone have a positive feedback about religion.
For me, the goals of having a religion is to be a better person. If you're still being a prick and pestering others to be a prick like you then you're doing it wrong.
Facts
I just wanted to say that I love the way you handled reacting to this as a Christian. You didn't avoid reacting to it, you appreciated the art in the video, you stated your view, and ended it with an invitation to get to know Christ. It was done in a smooth way without judging anyone, it was perfect. Thank you for that, love all your videos.
I just realized how BLOODY this MV is OH MY GOD!! 😦
Yes jimin. Your profile picture is ☻👌
there are a lot of theories for this MV, but for me, this one has the best "background" in my opinion;
so, many of us see in the mv symbols of catholic resemblance. crosses, angels, literally the title, sins, apple, devil & hell... shortly, the two members (minnie & soyeon) in white outfits & surroundings in the begging of mv are fallen angels, they were tempted by and lost with the devil who is the member with blonde hair (soojin). in the end of mv, they are laying in blood (your words they got out of womb), which is actually hell - the hall of flesh it's called i believe. there are also many explanations for other members, but i wanted to point out these scenes.
This is super interesting!
@@JordanOrme
important: Soyeon (the rapper) is having fun in "hell" (gay desire), but Minnie (the first girl in the MV) tried to fight the desire, but failed.
Funny because I made comments "please react to oh my God by G-Idle" on every vid uploaded on your channel. I can't explain my happiness rn.

Definitely superhuman by nct127. It shook all the producers and editors 😂😂
Taemin's Want MV is legendary. 10/10 would recommend
Wait she’s the director and producer?
All right, I'm starting to stan these girls.
Dolunay Özgür you should! Go check out their recent song DUMDi DUMDi! It’s a fun refreshing song for summer!
Oh my god, I can't wait for Jordan to say Oh my god while reacting to Oh my god
I love how Jordan gets so into the songs he reacts to. So wholesome. Gidle babies ftw!
😂:)
the group leader and the producer " soyeon " have talked about the meaning of the song and she said : the story is about 2 girls who is trying to be the most powerful people in the universe " soyeon and soojin " and there was a princes who had superpower of recreating anything " yuqi " and she had a sister who can make illusions like ( fire - people - water ..... ) " miyeon " and they had a sidekick who knows how to make there power grow " minnie " so soyeon kidnapped her to teach her how to make her power grow ... and there was " shuhua " , she was the strongest she can fly , be invisible almost every single power in the world so she was so strong ... soojin was trying to kill her to be the strongest person on earth , but yuqi , miyeon and shuhua were at the same team so they tried to kill soyeon and soojin but they were to late because soyeon turnd minnie to a monster and she killed her but at the end soyeon and soojin was killed because soojin was going to kill shuhua but when she tried she relies it was an illusion by miyeon .
the end .
it's really deep i know .... :)
Where is this from? Can i see the link to the video?
You have just been trolled.
I think that ending was her offing herself aka “freeing” herself, because then the same girl is shown in the clay or “rebirth” scene as you said. So she freed herself from her restraints show in the white scenes throughout and became the darker confident version of herself at the end
i wonder what jordan's eyesight is cause i've watched the video so many times but i've never even noticed one of the stuff he points out lol

the best thing about the song and the video is how soyeon purposefully left us wondering what exactly what going through her head with this (other than lesbian) because it can be interpreted in so many ways. there’s so many theories about shuhua being “temptation” or her being soyeon’s ultimate love interest and an unrequited love because shuhua’s persona is divine and untouchable. there’s so many theories and dissections and it’s all so genius

EYY IM BI AND CHRISTIAN TOO :DDD
@@μπότα WELL HELLO THERE NICE TO MEET YOU :)))
Aww, it's actually really refreshing to see someone like me! I'm non-binary asexual panromantic and a Christian! ^^
