Sorry it took so long to get back with you! If the coupling is intact and jammed all you should hear is the hum of the motor trying to turn. If the buzz is a humming then the transmission could be an option. you need to try and isolate the bad part. Try running it with the pump off the motor... Will it work then? If not remove the motor and try to manually turn the transmission shaft. If it's jammed then it could be the trans. , drive tube, clutch... Hope that helps some...

It's been a while now but either I went in and did what you showed here or I just went in for the pump. I seem to remember the fix you showed here... It would have been a Kenmore, probably the days of the BBS... Mine was the Milwaukee BBS if you go back that far?

Not usually, a broken motor coupling is usually caused from regular overloading of the washer. Some new motor couplings have a metal reinforcement around the center of the coupling. Now over loading will most likely lead to more expensive clutch or transmission problems...but a least the 8.00 coupling will be okay.

It will probably be okay but the pump may fail more quickly than if it was a good fit. You may need to use a grinder to really get the motor shaft cleaned up. Worst case the pump will start to leak and then you will get another shot at it... Thank for the question!

I have a Kenmore washer that spins but my clothes still have a lot of water left in them. What do you think this could be?

Hi, my coupler does one turn and jams, would it be safe to say my transmission has an issue? I hear a buzzing sound with no spin :( I called a technician who said the motor was dead, i changed it with a new one, few washes later buzzing sound came back

Sorry it took so long to get back with you and I failed you on this question!! I'm trying to get back up to date on my comments after a big side project! I hope you were able to get it resolved! I have a Bravos diagnostic guide on my website that shows how to put it into a diagnostic mode and understand the error codes... Thanks for commenting!

i have a maytag bravos washing machine, it won't agitate, and since it has a spin only cycle, it will not spin. it does not make a loud noise. usually, after start, the washer fills with water, then the detergent is next. (all automatic) by this time, after that, the washer should start agitating while it still adds more water. But, right now, the lights just go crazy. In the spin cycle only the water drains but the washer will not spin. Help

Hi, I replaced today the 4 agitator dogs/cogs in my washing machine. The machine fills up with water and drains with no problem but it will not spin during the spin cycle. It makes a very large humming sound when it's suppose to spin. When I manually move the agitator to the left and right and does move properly but no spinning at all. Please help a girl out, I refuse to call a tech. if I can do myself and save some money :)

@FlynhighBeats Thanks! There are a few common sounds for this washing machine style you can listen to on my website under "Appliance Problem Sounds" in the left side navigation options. a link to my website is in the description of the video. I can help and listen to your problem if you would like, I have a 10.00 requested donation based system under the "contact us" link on the bottom of each page. If I can't help I will issue a refund. I hope that helps! Thanks for commenting!

@pookiealeman I would love to help out! email me through the web site and I will be glad to give you my phone number so I can listen to the sound and perhaps help. (there is a link to my website in the video description) also there are some other sounds you can listen to on the site that may help to identify your problem. Probably a bad motor coupling... Hopefully :)
