Watching this in 2024. I can’t thank you enough for making your tutorials easy to follow. So far, I’ve installed this BMS intake, the same dual outlet exhaust setup, chrome delete all the way around, blacked out hood emblem, installed the black grill your wife installed, illuminated grill emblem, black led side markers, sequential turn signals…I’m sure I’m missing some installs but this is what I can remember off the top of my head. Next up, BOV. I saved your video for that install. I did it all with my long nails too 🤘 oh! I did install aftermarket headlights and taillights. Slightly different but I followed your step by step instructions. Great job on explaining the process for someone that specializes in hair color correction.
To me, with the positioning right next to the engine, it looks like it would be a hot air intake. A K&N stock replacement filter would be better, IMO. That is what I am doing. Just got the filter for my C300 W205. Hope you enjoy yours.
Am I missing something here? This intake is installed inside the engine bay in an ambient to hot area! How is it going to give any of the benefits gained by a cold area induction??
Yes. It did but I upgraded a bunch of stuff after this mod to cool the air. And I changed to a different air intake later on. Go watch my videos and you’ll see. This video you are commenting on is a super old video when I started my UA-cam like 5-6 years ago.
Was this the filter style you didn’t like? I thought I seen a video saying that it was pulling to much heat into the motor. Looking for a performance air filter for mine.
Greetings, do you have any comments about the idle fluctuation and misfire problem between 1500 and 2500 rpm, especially my reaction to sudden acceleration is slow, and there is shaking, thank you w212 e180 1.6 2015
I wouldn’t buy an open filter intake anymore. This is the other one that’s available through tornado tuning. Their contact info is in the video description. ua-cam.com/video/9m380qJsNTE/v-deo.htmlsi=BrkFsN8xXd7G36Md
The new filter looked twisted like it wasn't new. I'd be pissed if it came like that. All bent, twisted, and crushed 🫤 I dunno maybe I'm just picky 🤷🏼♂️
Nominal change. The major difference to be honest is now you have a reusable filter and never have to replace it. You can just clean it and recharge it. Once you start adding more performance mods, then a K&N filter really makes a difference. But not a big difference if your engine is basically stock.
@@TheFlexxGarage Thank you for your answer. So, I think I will stay with my fresh new stock filter. I do not think worth it to change with a k&n filter. If possible make a video with low budget performance mods! In my opinion these cars not worth the hustle to increase performance more than 8-10% of their stock power. Just buy a new better car.
@@TheFlexxGarage hey man i drive a c200 petrol w205 stock 184 bhp did some research on chiptuning so if i combine a chip ,cold air intake and sport exhaust it's in my benifit i think Will increase torq etc
Luke Mouton , not sure what you mean. My c250 only has 1 stock filter and it's inside the big black plastic air filter housing I took off. It's clearly shown as being removed from the engine in the video. It has the k&n sticker on it. The filter is in there.
I do it so I don’t accidentally knock a sensor, or drop a tool and end up shorting some components and getting shocked or starting a fire. It’s for safety reasons to me and to prevent damage to the car. And if I had to remove a sensor or something electrical, I know no power is flowing through it. Just like why would you change a lightbulb in the house if the power switch is on. You’re asking to get shocked. Some people say you don’t need to. Well, that’s their method but it’s risky. I rather have peace of mind knowing no power is flowing while I’m tinkering with the car. Also, (not for this install but for other installs) if you leave the battery connected and you take a sensor or electrical component apart, it will cause an engine fault and you’ll get a check engine light. Then you’re gonna have to deal with clearing that check engine light. One more headache that could of been prevented by spending 1mins to disconnect the negative side of the battery.
I have a stock C240 and thought it needs a panel filter not a cone filter. So We are not doing anything wrong to the engine by buying a cone filter? The websites only say a panel filter fits my car so if I got a cone filter how would I know which to buy? Cheers
You can’t just fit a cone filter. It needs a special adapter like in my video. Cone filters claim more power but I think it just gives a nice suction sound but it could be sucking in a lot of hot air and possibly, possibly lower performance. But I don’t really know cause an intake alone is not really a performance mod. It’s a mod for looks and sound. That’s all. If you don’t plan on major engine mods, you’ll never see the full benefits of a cone or aftermarket intake kit.
@@TheFlexxGarage I can’t remember what website I bought it from. I just went to purchase another filter from their website but they don’t ship to California unfortunately. But it literally looks like the one you installed. Mines just pretty dirty and I wanna clean it to be safe
Open filter = hot air into intake system = slight lag in performance. Stock system and TT intake is about the same cause they are covered filters but the TT gives the car better sound of sucking in air. You’re never gonna gain huge noticeable performance from an intake. It’s just cool to have but when you go to upgrade more and more engine parts, that’s when the intake will really shine and help get more out of the other mods.
I didn’t get it for more Hp. It’s an air intake. It’s more show then performance. I got it because it sound awesome and it uses a K&N air filter so that’s already way better than having a stock paper filter you have to change ever year.

Yeah. Go watch my other install video that’s more recent. This video is old as dirt.
Ok thanks, I'm thinking about purchasing it.
Thanks for this video, it helped me a lot!!
That's a hot air intake my dude...

Had trouble installing it but looks great!

How do I do it on a c180 the setup is different
Do we have to disconnect the battery?
Yo what's up flexx, I see on your more recent videos you have your filter covered up again. Did you have issues having the cover off?

No

Because I took it off and reinstalled it multiple times before I actually made a video on it.

Doesn’t this mess up the mass flow air sensor

Hi what year car is this e250 and what filter isnit exactly? Is it a a universal one?
2012. Look in the video description.
When do you need to change this filter?
You don’t change it. You clean and recharge it whenever it gets dirty.

Stock KN

Does it come with the extension??
Yes. Go to the links in the description. You’ll see.
