Where were these videos when I needed them? A while ago I couldn't find ANY tutorials dedicated to rocket effects, much less flame simulation versions. Great video!
I'm a bit jealous to see you can simulate a longer animation with a domain resolution of 750. Since Blender 2.92 all my smoke simulations crash at a certain point, even at resolutions below 150, sometimes already around the first 50 frames. The real annoying thing is that although the simulation data is still present in the location where it should be, I can play the animation up to where it crashed, but I cannot resume the bake and it starts on frame 1 again. It doesn't crash on 2.83 LTS, but 2.92 and 2.93 Alpha.
@@robindurivault7341 Actually I asked that question on Blender Stack Exchange some weeks ago but nobody came up with an answer and nobody there could reproduce my error... but then I found the answer myself. You're absolutely right, using ZIP helps... the problem didn't occur in the 2.83 LTS version because there were no advanced settings for compression... maybe there it was using ZIP by default instead of BLOSC now.
I am having issues with my fire baking. when I bake it the fire isn't focused on the area that the fire is supposed to come out of my ship. The whole bottom of my ship is on fire.

You should try to use the ZIP compression volume in your cache advanced settings, I had the same issue and it fixed it :)

why aren't the RS-25 engines on? this rocket would be awfully unstable and flip

It must be inside the domain cube to take affect.. check that please

I was using Ubuntu.. I witnessed an increase of performance. But in other areas the system is cringy

You have to assign a volumetric material to the smoke, check the next realistic smoke shader tutorial
