I'm 50/50 on the new Mad-Max bumper. As usual, great concept development and build. I'll reserve my final opinion till paint is done. Loving this detailed series. This project format you've developed is excellent 👍🏽
Looks great. You're obviously a welder and that's awesome. Most may hate this idea, but given the light weight of the truck, converting the cardboard mockup into a fiberglass bumper would have been awesome too.
Unbelievable!! I am relatively new to the channel and don’t always tune in. Every time I do, though I am absolutely amazed!! I am such a freak, for Toyotas!!! That Hilux is absolutely incredible!!! Amazing talent you possess!! That is my dream job!!
Austin, I'm thinking about getting a 1970 ish Toyota Hilux here in Thailand. I've been a subscriber on your channel for some time now. I just found this video and I didn't even know you liked these trucks. Cool. Well, if you need anything from thailand let me know maybe I can find what you need. Later
Love the bumper can’t wait to see more I love the flat clean look so much better then a big sticking out bumper. With that bumper, adding a extension off the bottom of the bed would look so great with it and even a flat custom bumper for the back just food for thought love the work man and it gives me observation for my mini truck
They are not cold cut saws, a cold cut saw uses a coolant. Anyone that's ever felt the chips from one of those circular saws and or the chop saw style know those chips are hot as hell.
Excellent bumper as always, you should just start manufacturing your own line of aftermarket bumpers, you have a Hella keen eye for design and fabrication. But there is a problem...now you need to make a rear bumper to match, as well as a duckbill spoiler for the tailgate and a visor for the windshield and some horizontal diffusers on the front bumper sides in front of the wheels...sorry, you brought this on yourself 😆
Looking good! Looks like an aggressive sport truck. Do some side skirts and rear diffuser to match and don't listen to these haters that have no vision past oem
safety squint hilarious. Not gona lie though learn to flip your helmet down after you get the right fitment, u still can damage your eyes when there closed. Regardless love what your doing makes me excited to work on my hilux surf!
Looks great 👍... I have to think someone has a plasma table or water jet.. on his Christmas wish list. There has to be a Santa 🎅 out there looking for a great ambassador to sponsor him a table...
Were you self taught bro or did you attend a school for all the things you know? you seem to be very knowledgable when it comes to automotive stuff. Would like to attend the school you learned all that stuff.
I didn't know hiluxs were available in the U.S. they're all over parts of Mexico and Central America in all configurations double cabs 4wd and diesel the 4wd diesels are the most popular some of the earlier ones in double cab 4wd were a bit top heavy tip over easily when making tight turns at speeds nice job on the bumper
They were imported in '72 as the Toyoto Pickup and were sold here until '95 when it was pulled and replaced with the Tacoma. It was never called the Hilux in the US but it was the same truck.
I would have made the splitter like an inch or two smaller. I’m still a little skeptical about the look as a whole. But I have been this whole build and things still keep working out. Hahaha
I think the lip on the bumper may be too big and the bumper is a bit too angular for the truck....the truck is a more curvy and sleek while the bumper has a lot of harsh angles and an aggressive look...amazing skills to build it though. I think you should restore the paint on the truck and maybe paint it that bronze color from before (something different and out there)
In my humble opinion, it’s too futuristic for the car. That truck looks so good with the stock setup but that’s just my opinion I wish I could see it white maybe that helps
Soy fiel seguidor tuyo no me gusta como le pusiste el sistema combustible. El motor nunca a afinado bien. Coloca sistema ful ingeccion. Despues todo bien hasta ahora. El 22r no quiere disfra. Por lo menos en mi pais. Cambialo afina y ya veras. Te sigo siempre.
My apologies, pull the bumper off and keep looking for an OE or no bumper. Also the Chin spoiler is a mistake. Looks cool but HOW are you gonna keep from ripping it off? If you catch a dip or bump say goodbye. I’m not saying it going to get ripped off right away but the law of averages is going to catch up sooner or later. Sorry not trying to be negative just saying.
I’ll admit I had my doubts on how got it was gonna look. It’s legitimately bad ass! Love it
Honestly same for me! I didn’t like it too much till it was done!
Patina looks cool on the body, but I think that Burnt Bronze would look really good on the bumper.
😬
Hasn’t thought about it, but I agree with you.
You build perfect snow plug👍😉
Well done! A patina paint job on the bumper and the entire truck would look 🔥🔥🔥

I was also thinking mad max lol
Thanks!! You’ll love what I’m doing for paint 👍
Amazing build so far. Can’t wait till this rig is complete and finished.
Looks great. You're obviously a welder and that's awesome. Most may hate this idea, but given the light weight of the truck, converting the cardboard mockup into a fiberglass bumper would have been awesome too.

Hey thanks man I appreciate that!
You have mad welding skills bro🤙
This channel needs more subscribers, keep up the good work.
This is a strong front pumper!
Love the Hobart welder. 🎉
Fairplay looks wicked 👍
Carbon fiber would have been cool. “Safety squint” OSHA approved. Interesting take on a bumper.
Definitely has that old school Mad Max vibe. Looks really good.
Thank you!! I agree!

Inspiration sorry
Cerakote the bumper the bronze color. It’ll look rusted from a distance, but match other accents on the truck.
Excelente trabajo, 👍
Sumting different not bad
That bumper is awesome!

🤔🤔🤔 give me more ideas!
I dig the "stealth" angular look! Wish you would have done a 1/2" to 3/4" radius on the inside corners of the openings. Nice job as always Austin!
Love the bumper and the splitter, not sure about the side pieces though.
Just my opinion only, I amsure it will look great when you are done !
Perfecto !!!!!! 👌
Meus parabéns, ficou top!
can't wait to see how you finish it off with the blinkers... going to look so sick!
Congratulations, Austin!
That thing is awesome!!
Very nicely done ✅
I dig the bumper. Had that early Datsun, race truck look. Nice work and made it look so easy to layout/design and build.
Love the build bro!!! Keep em coming....
1 hour 😮 you need to try 3M wheels 👌
that's TIGHT, love it!!!!
Looking good! Looks like an aggressive sport truck. Do some side skirts and rear diffuser to match and don't listen to these haters that have no vision past oem
Thanks man!! I appreciate it. I have some ideas 🤔🤔
That truck look so good you know really have to give it a nice paint job
Love your work and talents!
safety squint hilarious. Not gona lie though learn to flip your helmet down after you get the right fitment, u still can damage your eyes when there closed.
Regardless love what your doing makes me excited to work on my hilux surf!
It would look good as a pikes peak racing truck 👍
Nice work 💙 👍
I’ve got a mad max vibe. That looks badass
Bro, that’s bad ass!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Looks great 👍... I have to think someone has a plasma table or water jet.. on his Christmas wish list. There has to be a Santa 🎅 out there looking for a great ambassador to sponsor him a table...
Hey hey! A plasma sure would be a nice addition to the shop🤔🤔
Love the thumbnail, already liked. Haven’t watched yet, saving for later.
I love it! Super cool work man. My fav of all of your bumpers!
Looks like a mad max hilux with the unpainted bumper
patina would be awesome, might i suggest some old school trd racing stripes on the canards , you knew the old orange yellow and red stripes for linage
love the but without a splitter good job
I didn’t like it at the start till I saw it on your insta with paint!! Looks frigin sweet!
I totally dislike it, shoulda kept the original bumper, loving the rest of the bulild though.
Yah its kinda ugly now I like the oem look better
It looks like the car if fast sadly it’s not . Suck
Yeah that’s the first thing I’ve seen him do that’s meh.. gosh I love this truck though!
Ditch that Lame bumper you fabricated, and just paint stock OEM Grille Black.
@Jeff Anderson for real everything else is minty af and then he puts this ricer early 2000's front bumper 🤣
😍😍😍😍😍
Would fly in Australia, pedestrian amputation tool, you would be in the running this bumper when you get pulled over for sure
It turns out so damn cool 👏
👍👍
Can't have that front on it without a huge bed mounted wing.
Ooooooo making my imagination run!
bro mad skills.. love it
😍😍😍
Gotta paint it now,whole truck.
Otherwise you just went madmax.

That’s rad.
yessss this is what set you appart my man loove this custom body work ! great job
I like it. Not sure what paint color be best. Looking forward to next vid.
I would have made the splitter like an inch or two smaller. I’m still a little skeptical about the look as a whole. But I have been this whole build and things still keep working out. Hahaha
Haha thanks! I think in the end it will all come together!
Reminds of the alfa 105 front end with the double lights.
Good work
Looks sick!!
Perfect for chopping off the feet of Zombies!😄
Sometimes you gotta take the road less traveled...came out 🔥
Exactly!!! Thanks!!
Looks good
Looks great man
Loving the truck bro keep it up pushing the likes
Batman is the first word that popped into my head
You do amazing work. Like the bumper! Please NEVER weld without a helmet. Your eyes are irreplaceable.
Thanks!
Marblelizer from house of kolor for the paint. Tricky to apply but very interesting.

i didn't know you were in Washington state about what part? ive been looking for a 1979-83 yoga 4x4 to restore that's how i found your channel
I wish I can weld, i'll buy the one for the the 2nd gen Tacoma
Bumper Plus Snow shovel lol

Thats bad ass
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥🔥🇵🇷🇵🇷❤️
🥰😊
I’ll have to see if it grows on me… giving it the side eye for now. Doesn’t have the patina vibe to me.
You just wait till paint!! 👍👍

🤔
why is the front so flat? the bumper should protrude forward imo
also the pointy lower sides…
Bumper looks good but splitter and carnad are too big for my taste
You're doing all this work to this truck and you're not doing bodywork?
Very pedestrian-collision friendly, I must say :/
I like it
