Where the top bumper meets the fender flair looks cool. I like the bulkiness to it, makes it look muscular imo. The splitter does look too big. Something a lot thinner or just a flat piece of steel itself would look better. Build your dream man. The body kit is looking sick!

Not a flat piece of steel, but perhaps plywood or carbon fiber.

I was on the fence about this untill i saw it taking shape then Sam brought up a good point. Restoring it to factory is ok just another factory car to have chit-chat over at show&shines but you pull this off it will show off your talent and be one above the rest! There is a bunch of obstacles when you customize an old car but don't lose momentum and get it complete! Good luck Ben looking forward to more episodes 👍

Ben, the two years I’ve been watching you I’ve never made any comments, but I felt compelled to do so now. Young man you are super talented, let that vision you have in your mind come to life! Your artistic talents stand out just as much as your mechanical talents do when you have a car on a frame machine restoring its life! Don’t apologize for your vision because it’s fascinating watching you give this Mustang another life! In addition, I am learning a ton of information watching you! When you took on the McLaren project I was hoping you weren’t in over your head, but you nailed it! Keep up the great work! I’ll continue watching. All the best!

So far it looks great. I had a 1970 Mustang Coupe when I was stationed in Germany (1969-1974). I raced it on the local airfields that were set up on different bases. Just before I got received a transfer to the Netherlands, the German police indicated that my Mustang was too wide for the German roads and I was told that I could not drive it on street. I had started to enlarge and widen the wheel wells. So with the military police and my NCOIC, senior military in charge, I parked my Mustang behind his Dodge Polaria, and German police were my was. I pointed out that it was behind the Dodge. They couldn't see it because the Dodge was six wider on both sides. I told them I was leaving the area and took the car to Munich to have it painted. Once that was done I drove to my next duty station. I miss that car. Now I have a 1971 Mustang. A lot of work has been done on it, but it is setting under my carport gathering dust. I am unable to finish this project due to three back surgeries that I've had. Take it slow but deliberate to get your concepts down and put them into action. Nice work.

dude , you really need to build all the suspension first get the car standing on all 4 wheels under load before you start to build the body , it is near impossible to make the suspension to the body with out doing a bunch of sketchy things to make it work, like wheel spacers or messed up geometry , you haven't even factored in suspension travel into your body design and being you are doing it all in metal one scrape on a curb everything will be pulled out of shape

Great so far, I will like to suggest that you cut the tip of the bumper from the flair about 3 to 4 inch and fab a strait connection to the flair, so keep the curve from the top but strait out the side. It will make the connection to the flair to the bumper easier.

I really love your design on this car. Something like this would be something i would purchase for my own Mustang or i would love to see in Need for Speed, where the only thing you can do is bolting some standard, ugly looking and only digital formed overfenders on the car.
Building the Bodykit out of steel is maybe heavier than Aluminium or Fibre Glas, but there are three main points for it beeing out of metal:
    1. You are used to work with steel, so you get more progress in less time,
    2. Steel is easier to work with by nature (e.g. magnets for holding Parts in place for welding) and
    3. With the Twin Turbo Coyote the car will have more power than the tires can handle anyway, so having more weight, even if it's not that much, will help with traction.

The Car that You build for Yourself is a Car that You Like and not always what the other People wants.
Myself I build A Corvette C3 1979 in The Black Pearl, the little modifications that I did made some people crazy.

Good job brother, gives me e30 vibes with flares and front bumper, definitely expand the side vents on the quarters, looks great

Looks awesome Ben, I think the splitter is a bit too much, either do a thin one or just without one might look good too, nonetheless great work man!!

i like the creativity with this build. I agree with samcrac about the side vent, looks to squarish. also the lower bumper spoiler mockup needs to have more curvature to it. Good job though!!
