    My problem is that everyone said Justin Fields was the problem. Fast forward to now and nothing has changed. At all. Justin did better with a worse Bears team than Caleb has all season with the current roster. That's abysmal. Bears don't know what they're doing and it shows.

    • @brockstar1461
      @brockstar1461 12 годин тому +19

      Fields biggest problem was his fumbling issues. His speed made the O line numbers look better than they actually were. I do think Caleb was an upgrade but the way people treated Justin when he was here was bullshit.

    • @tlb84gaming5
      @tlb84gaming5 9 годин тому +3

      Justin was fun to watch, but was not the answer. Outside of rushing yards, TD’s, and sacks. Caleb has better numbers than Justin had in his best season for the Bears. Caleb has a better completion %, more passing yards, needs one TD to tie Justin’s 17 in his sophomore season. Caleb has 4 less interceptions than Justin. Far less fumbles, and only 3 more sacks. Problem is we overhyped Caleb, and can’t understand why he hasn’t won 10 Super Bowls, 99 mvp’s, 20 rookie of the year’s by now idiocies.

      Fields always ranked bottom third in things like scoring, turnover ratio, and yards. Fields still deserves criticism because that offense always sucked. Even with a solid defense last year, they still lost 10 games.

    I'm not surprised that a rookie QB whose head coach lost the locker room and got fired and whose o-line is letting him get demolished every other play lacks confidence

  • @MFBloosh
    @MFBloosh 13 годин тому +29

    With Caleb, all the Bears need is an O Line. But the thing is, it was our biggest need when Mitch was here, and we never took care of it. It was our biggest need when Justin was here, and we never took care of it. Now Poles is here and he had the chance to sign one or two good O Linemen, and he chose to give that money to Keenan Allen who's dropping more passes than I've ever seen a veteran WR drop. We didn't need him, we needed to protect our rookie QB from getting obliterated in the pocket, and Poles chose to ignore that need. If he does get fired, that's going to be the reason why. Doesn't matter how good your QB is and how good your WRs are when your QB doesn't have the time in the pocket to find those WRs. And it's sad because Caleb has had a decent rookie season statistically. 17 TDs to only 5 INTs, holds the rookie record for most passes thrown without an INT (it's been about 7 weeks since he's thrown one), 3000 passing yards with 3 games left and 500 rushing yards. Not a bad season for a rookie, but it makes you wonder how much better the season would've been for Caleb if he had even a decent O Line in pass protection. The fact that he's not injured is a miracle with some of the hits he's taken.

      O-line is important, however, if you keep defending bad QB play by blaming the line.... At a certain point, a QB just has to be able to suck it up and start making plays even if the line is shaky.

      Rarely do good O linemen drop on the free agent market very long. They are a rare commodity. That means you have to draft them and Poles doesn't draft well at all. What stellar amazing picks has he made? I can't think of any off the top of my head.

    Keeping Justin would have been an okay option but then we would have had to pay him as well as develop him which we clearly weren't doing in the first place based off his first 3 years. There were many games when were were down in the 4th and it looked like we could come back just for Justin to either fumble or miss an open read in the middle as well. It is concerning that Caleb has started to miss some open reads but it's still his rookie year and I pray they can develop him and get him a better o line. Being in a conference where the other 3 teams are all 10+ wins doesn't help either as there's no room for mistake really but this season should have just been a rebuild/development in the first place instead of the media hyping the bears up once flus was kept for another year. Caleb is a rookie and this is his first year the dude was just given a lot of expectations which is horrible if you're on the bears 😭

  • @nichodemus10

    I understand Grossi not giving the vikings any respect, but it seems to me that the vikings' defense did something that Caleb had not seen with the five edge rushers and no tackles pressure package. Caleb has played well enough to have losses to a hail mary and a blocked kick. And in their prior division, games have only lost by a combined total of 7 points. If you put them in the NFC west or south, they are winning the division because their 6 division games aren't against all 10 win teams.
    The no development statement by Perna is a little frightening, and something i think Aikman was talking about when talking about not changing his game to allow so many sacks, which he clearly did not blame on the Oline.

    People are whipping back and forth on a game by game basis. 5 weeks ago the story was Caleb and the Bears were screwed having to play the NFC North teams with the best defenses. First 3 games Caleb had the Bears within winning position in the final seconds. Last game vs Vikings wasn't as good.
    He's the only QB to throw 3 TDs vs the Lions, he had the 3rd highest QB rating of any QB vs the lions at 97.8, he's one of only 3 QBs to not throw an INT vs the Lions
    He's one of only 4 QBs to have a 100+ rating vs the Vikings (103 in first game) and his average through 2 games is 96.7 (higher than 10 others). He's one of 3 QBs to not throw an INT vs the Vikings
    He's one of 5 QBs to have a 95+ rating (he had 95.0) vs Packers and one of 4 QBs to not throw an INT vs Packers.
    Of all the QBs to play at least 2 games vs NFC North only Goff has a higher cumulative rating behind a top 3 O-Line.
    He's played 4 straight games against NFC North with a new OC and a new HC for one and yet he's averaging 96+ rating, with 756 yards, 6 TDs 0 INTs.
    Caleb is far from playing great, but he is not even close to the main problem for the Bears statistically in the last 4 games. Their O-Line can't run block or pass protect, their defense is very leaky giving up an average of 28ppg, the receivers keep dropping passes and they've had multiple TDs or first downs called back on penalties.

      He couldn't score a single touchdown against the Patriots and the entire offense had only 4 yards in a half against the injured 49ers who had themselves just been destroyed 2 weeks in a row. Caleb is absolutely terrified with how bad our OLine is.
    He's making bad plays and scrambling when the pocket is fine because he can't trust it. We can have all the weapons in the world but him getting sacked a ridiculous number of times per game is hard for a rookie.
    We need to fire absolutely everyone. Shane Waldron was the worst pick we could have made, we should have fired eberflus, and our passing QB coach was take to head coach position in the span of like 10 days

    Definitely can say this year I think it is a good way for Caleb to go through the grinder. It will only be good though if the Bears organization cannot do two things.
