This was my favorite mission next to the B2 one, awesome soundtrack, cool intermission in the middle and the DFM mode wasn't as forced or obnoxious as some.

This mission had me almost drowning in adrenaline. It was like the perfect combination of awesome. The heartpounding music, fast dogfighting, sense of urgency, as well as the beautiful graphics and the very good voice talent. This mission was perfection.
I also believe that a Vertical take off would present an easy target for strafing runs while a short take off allows the plane to build up speed first and allow evasive maneuvers directly out of the run way. It is my opinion that what hey did was a STO, not a regular take off.
Ace Combat is a game in which you can't see your face, you have tons of planes to choose, and every AC has a cool story. But Assault Horizon is like a movie.
Balancing issues in multiplayer. The harrier in the DLC pack can semi-hover though. Once it reaches stalling speed, it tilts its exhausts and flies really really slowly and yaws very quickly.
@SilentGun0211 The "friendly fire" is actually Akula launching QAAM's like crazy at you. Those missiles can target any aircraft in all directions, even at 6 o'clock (where you will be when pursuing him)
Last Shadow you can add those when command think stealth won't be necessary and you need extra fuel or armament since the internal bay is small. Say like CAS (close ait support) you don't expect enemy crafts or you have other f35 armed only for air superiority (without pilons) covering your not stealth anymore ass while you destroy enemy ground forces. The good thing about the F35 it is that i doesn't excell at anything but it can do everything according on how you set it. Imho it doesn't deserve all the hate it gets
Depends on the mission. Aerial recon? SEAD? Deep penatration? It was be configured for stealth. Close air support? Air patrol? Air superiority? It will be configured with a full combat load.
@minervas1000 it's a passive stealth design, so as long as you keep the weapon doors closed and the gear up, you will be quite difficult to be seen on radar. On the other hand, you will still be targetable with IR sensors.
Jake McCurdy technically F35s are capable to be outfitted with external weapon pylons since the internal weapon holding of all stealth fighters are generally bad. And besides, sometimes you do want MOAR missiles vs low observability.
Very well done, didn't think you could dispose of so many planes in such a short time this effectively. One question though: normal or classic control scheme?
@HadesMKIII Lol the funny thing is in the previous games (especially ACZ) it happens by accident. I would be in a big arial battle. I shoot-down one bandit and turn around, next thing I see is another bandit charging head-on towards me. Ah good times

Seth Archer no. Not even. I’ve been playing AC since ace combat 4 on ps2. This is the only one I haven’t played. I absolutely love the fact that it takes place on our planet, I never really liked the whole strangereal thing. This game looks unpopular because although I like that they took risks, I hate the kill cams, and the gun cams. It’s like they tried too hard to make it like most shooters now days. I’d love it if they stuck to what they’re known for. Real life like aerial combat. Edit: Less script, more freedom. I think they bailed Skies Unknown! Assault Horizon,,, not so much..

but the F-35 do have external pylons that they can put on if heavier load is needed. But as you said you normaly dont do that couse you often want stealth.
All skilled players use the Classic Control scheme for dogfighting. the fact that he can bank that much at 1.20 without turning is proof that he's using Classic
enemy ai: Ok ok wiat until he gets back in the air and then shoot him enemy ai 2: Sir dont you thinks its better to just shoot him now? enemy ai: No. This is standard procedure for all video game enemies. Never shoot the main player when he lands or is defenseless enemy ai 2: ok...............
Whoever was playing when this video was made u have balls of steel for picking a jet that can barely dogfight. The turning capability and the maneuverability on the f 35 fucking sucks

I love the midlevel cutscene in this, with the anti-aircraft gun leading you to the run way.
Of course the F-35 is requesting coffee. It is becoming so bored by the other fighters, it is falling asleep, and there for needs coffee.
As much as I dislike Assault Horizon, this mission was cool as hell

Last time I was a part of a formation protecting bombers, we lost all of them.
PAK-FA is definitely the best plane for this mission, trinity can wipe out the ground force os final stage in merely seconds

The protection of Sova reminds me a lot of that mission in Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces.

I generally use either the f25, f16, and f22 for most missions. Its able to multilock disabling more planes that F35 can

Ive been constantly playing this level for a year now and have destroyed a few monitors in the proccess and it is still unbeatable.

This mission is much easier by using 4AAM Harrier. Don't fly too fast so you can MG all ground targets.
