The infotainment screen of the Explorer looks like a bit of an after thought, like when they refreshed the interior of the Ford Edge and just added that massive screen that doesn’t fit with the rest of the design.
Hyundai for the win
The Palisade 2023 looks amazing and is a bargain.
To me it's a no brainer.
Palisade looks incredible
I have a 22 Explorer base with zero options and I can not see spending more than double for the extra trim level. My Explorer was $29,995 and I don’t miss the extra options. We had a 2018 f150 King Ranch.
Ugh cops 👮♀️ ruined the explorer image for me. I don’t like them anymore because everyone thinks it’s a cops car .
Absolutely Yes 💯
Palisades is better than Explorer 😅
Dont quit your day job. Hyundai is trash. They had to come out with the 10 year powertrain warranty after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had.
Aside from the interior, I like the Ford more.
Same!
I have 2016 citadel durango with V8.
I am starting to have some issues and looking to replace it.
I found 2022 unused explorer limited for 48k $ (it is around 59.5k $ for 2023 and nothing changed)
The palisade caligraphy is around 58.5k $
The VW teramout (Atlas) R Line is 61.6k$
The honda pilot is around 64k$
The nissan pathfinder 60.5k$
We do not get the grand highlander in my country and the new traverese and Acadia are not available yet
What should I get among all these?
I have another option to fix the durango and keep it and buy toyota Crown (premium) for around 42.4 which I would drive daily to work and schools
Ford explorer st
I’ll support the country I live in. Ford all day…
ford is garbage
@@user-bd9lw9jp9t 45 years straight. But ok
Can’t wait to go shop for a Hyundai or Kia and get their dealers to slap an extra 10k+ on their prices.
The Hyundai that I looked at was literally 6 k cheaper than I paid for my fully loaded explorer st. Is 6k worth an extra 100 hp and150 tq , performance brakes, performance tuned suspension, and a tune geared towards performance. Not only that the st has tons of aftermarket support. You can literally put a larger intercooler, cat back and a tune and add an extra 100-150 hp and 150+ tq. It has all the room and comfort you could want and all the performance to eat most cars on the street for breakfast. I can barely outrun it in my highly modified Sti.
Naaah the purpose of the suv is not to deal with aftermarket hassle and just enjoy the luxury, tech and convenience features with all weather drive capability. This is not a sports or muscle car to worry about performance and exhaust noise. Explorer looks and feels so cheap compared to the Palisade.
@@al151 lol after market support is awesome, I’d say my explorer is pretty close to being a muscle car, it’s currently making 440whp and 530tq with a 4.0-4.2 0-60 time. While still getting 23-25 mpg on the highway. Handles like a sports car and stops on a dime. Handles off roading, drag races, and grocery pickups. Way more tech than I care for but whatever, if I wanted a luxury vehicle I would have picked up a Mercedes, what I wanted was a family vehicle that doubled as a race car.
@@lucian7182naah you need two vehicles for that. I just bought a 24 calligraphy palisade 2 weeks ago and have a 22 2ss 1le manual camaro that i track and use during nice weather. You need to feel that sports car to suv difference otherwise life gets boring. One vehicle for fun the other for hauling people and quiet ride.
@@al151 I have 2 vehicles my other is a 21 sti. I use that one for fun back road or canyon drives. The 22 explorer st I have is the family fun car/ go on trips. The sti is more fun to drive, the st is faster and more comfortable. I’ve actually autocrossed the st and it’s handles very well, had no problem getting it to slide. And whip around turns. Of course the sti is a faster on the autocross due to weight and being lower to the ground. I just took the st on a road trip for the holidays, and at cruising speed it’s pretty silent until you want to overtake someone then it wakes up. However since adding the downpipes it does drone going up steep hills at 70-80 mph but nothing turning up the music doesn’t deal with.
Who tf buys an SUV to mod it for speed 💀💀💀
I had same debate last year and picked Palisade even though I was a Ford engineer at that time and was eligible for A plan price. The Palisade just gives you so much more for the price. Don't get me wrong, the engine and powertrain in Explorer is really good. 400 hp is a beast. But the problem is do I really need that in a family 3 rows SUV? Or a car with more family friendly feature, more useable third row with a low price?
Got a 24 Hyundai great car can’t beat it for the price
I'll start with a ford suv
The Hyundai is nice. However, Ford has been building SUV for a long time.
You are not is sport mode with the palisade. They are pretty fast and way more comfortable.
400hp vs 295hp on the palisade. Plus the 4WD system is way better on the Ford.
Explorer is better
heated 3rd row seats ive never seen that before lol
Palisade wins. The price of that explorer is too high and Hyundai’s warranty is the best
They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had...
I would pick Ford
I prefer the interior of the Hyundai. The front end of the Palisade isn't Hyundai's best design. I might go with a third option if I were to buy a 3-row Suv.
Explorer
Cheaper and SLOWER ??!!! Absolutely not lol. I’d rather have more power.😂
Truth told Hyundai has it all.....The Boss.
They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had. They are made out of cheap plastic.
I like the ford more but for $60k+ it falls extremely short on reliability.
Explorer all day ! just gotta put some after market led turn signals and licenses plate lights and it’s be perfect ! 😅
I’ll alway vote Hyundai!!
hyundai winner
They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had
The truck that I like and ford don’t make anymore is my 2010 explorer sport trac limited suv/truck in black pearl metallic 😊
$9000 is $9000. That’s huge! The Palisade is the better value by far. It’s powertrain is on par with others in the class like the Toyota Highlander and the Honda Pilot. It also comes with complimentary three year maintenance and a 10 year powertrain warranty.
Lol a 3.0turbo with 400HP from the Explorer vs the 3.8L 295hp engine from the palisade... HMM ill take the 3.0T any day over that one. Not to mention the 4WD system on the Explorer is far better. Plus its a Hyundai.. 10 year powertrain warranty because the company was riddled with premature engine failures before 100k miles. They are slowly getting better but still have tons of issue and are made cheaply in south Korea vs in Chicago here in the US which benefits American workers.
Where we can see comparison between both awd systems? @@justsomeguy697
I would go with the Ford, still a Ford guy I guess!
enjoy the recalls bro.
@@maga6319 Enjoy your cheap plastic Hyundai. They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had.
@@justsomeguy697 if you're going to troll, at least be good one too clown.
Domestic cars are so unreliable. It's simply a fact that Asian cars rank far ahead of domestic ones in reliability and price performance ratio.
You clearly do not work on cars. Hyundai had to come out with a long power train warranty so people would start buying them again. All the premature engine and transmission failures they had. They are cheaply made and feel like plastic crap.
@@justsomeguy697 I don't know about Korean cars. The experts give them such great reviews online. I was mainly talking about Toyota and Honda. I have a Toyota I never fix anything on and it just keeps on running. That has never been my experience with domestic brands.
@@Jose-sy1je Toyota and Honda are Japanese yes and have proven to be reliable for the most part. They have their little issues here and there too but for the most part they are way more dependable than south Korean made cars
100% Ford performace is much much better than hyundai pallisade...and front end style of the hyundai is bit not ok
Ford is a better platform for performance but, there are definitely a handful of things owners should change for the performance and reliability of the vehicle.
Currently have a 22ST 440whp 530tq.
Explorer all day
Palisade had a nicer interior, but I can't get past that goofy looking grill. And Hyundai's propensity to blow engines doesn't help either.
hyundai fixed the engine issue.. they dont build theta2 engine anymore and ford is just garbage... i will nerver have american brand
@@user-bd9lw9jp9t lol, how do you know it’s fixed. They just came out and will need at least 2 years to see if they succeeded. But with their track record I highly doubt they did. It will NEVER outlast a Toyota engine….EVER PERIOD!
@@YZERPLAN toyota has poor build quality than Hyundai. Yes fanboy, i seen you from kirk videos. Keep hating on Hyundai when they about to outsell toyota.
They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had@@user-bd9lw9jp9t
Like the expoler better
you are wrong.. ford is american garbage
Hyundai palisade
Did he just call his throat Linda?
Palisades looks better and is a much better value. $9000 difference? Don’t think so.
They are cheap for a reason.. way less tech and made our of cheap plastic crap. They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had.
The Explorer is always in the top 10 of most unreliable cars years after years. Looks old (in a bad way because not always is), cheaper, that infotainment system looks aftermarket. For me is a easy call. Hyundai here win
They had to come out with the long powertrain warranty so people would start buying them again after all the premature engine and transmission failures they had. Hyundai is known for making cheap crap.
@@justsomeguy697 are you sure of that or just thoughts? Cause buying a car knowing is a bar car and is going to fail only because the extended warranty it's not a very intelligent way of think.
I desagree on "Hyundai is cheap crap". Not every car of Hyundai is good and have known problems with some engines, but overall are good cars and that's why they have that good position in USA with Kia.
@@biendiego57 I sell cars for a living. Most of them even had their paint peeling off and rusting after only a year of it being new. Quality control problems big time.
most Kia and Hyundai designs looks exactly like ford designs they copy FORD!!!!!
strongly agree! Go ford
Neither, give my a Toyota highlander any day every day. Or any Toyota SUV for that matter. Nothing outlasts a Toyota engine Period. Great video though. Keep them coming 👍🏻
I rather have the palisade with less recalls vs Ford Explorer with daily recalls.
Hate to break it to you Hyundai has lots of recalls too. They even had to come out with the 10 year powertrain warranty for people to buy them after all the premature engine and transmission failures. Ill stick with the far superior Explorer.
@@justsomeguy697 Damn bro, reading comprehension isn't your cup of tea. You're really that dumb to believe that Hyundai has lots of recalls? Tell me that you're a ford fanboy without telling me that you're are.
