    Hey Jash ! Been following you there and on LinkedIn for some time now, and I'm impressed by the quality of the content you post. So i graduated an year ago,2021 and for some reason couldn't work, which puts me an already not so good position. I'm confused between Dat engineering and Salesforce development, you see, i don't like to do HARD CORE coding, that's why didn't go the full stack dev route, other than this there's Front end dev role which is code heavy, but again the no code platforms make me feel insecure about this job, then we've got data engineering ( idk how much coding you're required to be doing in this role, but it's a solid career for sure), and then Salesforce development ( which people from tier 1 college don't even consider as a dev job, and most MAANG devs look down upon Salesforce developers ) but that's the opportunity I'm currently getting. Would you please guide me as to what path i should choose considering i have a potential job offer for Salesforce development, and a 6 month gap ? Please suggest.

    • @JashRadia
      @JashRadia  Рік тому

      Take it and try it! If you like doing it then great, if you don't then you will still learn something new and get our of your career gap. And if you want to switch then you can always prepare alongside your job. It is possible to switch to DE after being a Salesforce developer.

    • @deepanshugupta1376
      @deepanshugupta1376 Рік тому +1

      @@JashRadia really appreciate the prompt reply, the thing is I'll be tied to this Salesforce job for 2 years, since it's a 3 months internship and then 1.5 years bond, that's the thing. But it's hard to pass this opportunity since the career gap would create problems, and i see no opportunity for DE roles since I've prepare for it first, spend months to find a job. So you still suggest taking the Salesforce route ?

    • @JashRadia
      @JashRadia  Рік тому +1

      @@deepanshugupta1376 I would suggest to still get this job. Bond can be broken by making some payment. So in case you get a high paying job, you won't mind doing that anyway. Without prior experience it will be hard to get DE job with a career gap right after college.

    • @deepanshugupta1376
      @deepanshugupta1376 Рік тому +1

      @@JashRadia Jash, i really appreciate your reply. You have saved me tonnes of time since i was really confused between the two, now i have a clearer goal to work on. I'd like to ask if I'd be able to shift to DE from Salesforce after an year or something, would my experience be given any value at all, and would I be hired at or offered more $$$ after switching from Salesforce to DE ?

    • @JashRadia
      @JashRadia  Рік тому +1

      @@deepanshugupta1376 you can shift to DE. Your experience will be considered but not in DE. Although no need to worry about salary. No company will offer less than what you are earning otherwise even they know it doesn't make sense for you to switch.
      In the long run, 1-2 years of experience won't even matter. It will be covered going forward regardless.

      Hi Ayan, if you're interested in Data Engineering, you can switch your project by talking to your manager or PD coach at ZS, too. It is a long process though.
      Either to switch internal or outside, you need to make sure you learn Python, SQL, Spark and any 1 cloud platform well first. Then try to do a project on your own. You can add this in the resume.

    Is it worth in going for data analyst compared to data scientist and data engineer?

    • @JashRadia
      @JashRadia  Рік тому +1

      Coding is necessary in data engineering. Most product companies will have 1 or 2 DSA rounds for this role. Mostly Python is preferred. Data engineering is more technical than data science or data analysis. Both of those are more business oriented.
      But you can easily switch between them if you learn. As SQL and Data understanding is common between all.
