I’ve had this for over a year. I agree with everything he says. There is a trade off for the portability, we can sit four around but it doesn’t give off enough heat to warm you, maybe your hands if you hold them over. I have the gas fire pit from Costco, I’d say between the two the ignik is 1/4 the heat output. I have a 5 and 3 pound tank. Coupled with one of those the portability is phenomenal. I’ve even packed it on my motorcycle.
I finally got one because I’m in California too, and had been camping without a campfire because of the bans, but funnily we have all this rain so I’ll likely be able to light the wood fires everywhere anyway! Great review thanks for sharing.
So stoked you got value out of the content hoped it helped! Anything you would have wanted to see more or less of as far as the review goes? Merry Christmas! 🤙🏼
I bought one of these a while ago, but haven't had the chance to use it. I've got an 11lb tank to use with this, and it's gonna be so much cheaper than firewood, costs like 8 bucks tops to fill it but it costs me about 10 bucks per bundle of firewood than only last an hour or two.
Looks like that discount code doesn't work anymore. I clicked your link straight to the pit and tried with and without the rocks and attempted to checkout.
RVs use propane, same as your tank. However, most RVs use a low pressure system and it looks like this fire pit uses high pressure, so it likely won't run reliably if at all. Good review.
I'd probably just bring a small tank for the Firecan. The regulator on this would fit my RV tank directly, but we'd need an extension hose to get it a decent distance from the trailer.
Not sure what you mean by high pressure. The regulator lowers the pressure and provides adjustability, this isn't a high pressure system (my perspective). I'd imagine it consumes a fairly large amount of propane though, it's not easy to heat the entire outdoors.

No sparks! That's why you can use this in a burn-ban. It's off the ground and the burn is inside the cage. There's no ash, no sterilization of the soils, no black carbon on rocks, etc. that is ugly to look at. It's a LNT Winner (Leave No Trace). Next, lava rocks make the thing better. They disperse the flames better and the warmth is spread around better if there's more than one person huddled around the thing. You've increased the thermal mass of your heat source by adding 5.5lbs of lava rocks (The weight of the Ignik bag 'o lava rocks) so the thing will be warmer. They stay in the box and with the lid on they aren't going anywhere even if you tump the thing over in your vehicle while traveling.

On your motorcycle! That’s awesome! 🤙🏼

Great review thanks for sharing.
Glad you found value in it!
That is a cool little fire pit! Good job!😊
Hey Thanks! This thing is awesome for beach camping!
Used your coupon code and worked! Ordered the growler and pit combo! Thanks!
So glad you found value in the video!
Love it!!! Might replace my Outland firepit with this.
Too good!
Thank you for explaining the lava rocks. I thought it was a stupid gimmick for the firecan. Guess I was wrong.
No worries! Yeah I tested it with both and the rocks actually help. 🤙🏼
Just used your coupon code and ordered! Thank you and a Merry Christmas!

Summer is coming! Time to use it!
2.5 hrs for 5lb tank set to full setting?
Yup set to full setting at 70 degrees!
How long it could last on the lowest setting
Ignik states you could get up to 4 hours on its lowest setting from a 5lb tank. 🤙🏼
@@EventheWavesYT thanks for that info, it is what I was looking for.
Of course!
Looks like that discount code doesn't work anymore. I clicked your link straight to the pit and tried with and without the rocks and attempted to checkout.
Thanks for letting me know! I’ll check with Ignik and let you know when it gets fixed.
How do you fit the wood logs inside of it ? Asking for a friend in Idaho
That’s the beauty of it! No wood logs! Just propane! 🤙🏼
So wait... what good will it be when we run out propane?
@Kallivakgames lol maybe you could use it as a rabbit trap?

Awesome! Thanks for the the feedback Kevin!

@bjnslc yeah for sure! I wouldn’t go over a 5lb tank for portability.

I want a small fire pit that will burn wood or propane...🤔
Sounds like a great product to start a business around! I’ll take a look around to see if I can find it!

Thanks for the additional info 🤙🏼
No need for fire unless we're cooking. I guess you could place an iron skillet on top of this.
Yeah they just came out with an elite version that you can cook with 🤙🏼
CODE DOES NOT WORK EXCEPT FOR ORIGINAL FIRECAN. $50 OFF THE ORIGINAL IS AWESOME. THANKS.
The code only works for the original not the elite. It does work 🤙🏼
code no longer works Sept 2023
Thanks for letting me know! Ill keep you updated.
I just tried it, it still works EVENTHEWAVES25
@@EventheWavesYT I was trying to get an Elite, only works on the regular model...
@DixieNormas gotcha! Yeah my agreement was for the original. 🤙🏼
