In honor of legendary RB Reggie Bush’s return to USC, here’s a throwback to one of his most memorable performances of his historic career. USC was in danger of losing it’s winning streak, but Reggie had a performance of the ages to continue the streak. He rushed for 294 yards, had 68 yards receiving & 151 return yards for a total of 513 all-purpose yards. This was one of many incredible performances during his Heisman winning season. What stood out to many people was his cutback run where he runs from one sideline to another. Reggie Bush’s legacy never went away despite his ban, but it’s great that he’s finally allowed back on campus.

In honor of the return of my favorite player, I decided to highlight one of Reggie Bush’s most memorable performances while he was at USC.
The Trojans were in danger of losing it’s 32-game winning streak, but an incredible 513-all-purpose yard performance by Bush kept the streak alive. He rushed for 294 yards & 2 TDs on 23 carries with a 12.8 YPC. He also had 68 receiving yards & 151 returning yards.

I've learned to block that Rose Bowl out because it took a while to get over it. Honestly, I'm still not over it. lol Vince Young's knee was down!
@@JustBombsProductions I
I still can't watch it. His knee was down and there was another blown call on a fumble I believe.
they put “reg-gie” up on the old scoreboard in the 4th quarter around the 3 minute mark and everyone in the stadium as they left to beat the awful LA traffic started chanting it.
Man that was one of the best games I’ve ever witnessed in my life, next to that cursed 2006 rose bowl.
I watched that game live! Reggie was unbelievable!!!
Don’t know who was the one who tore Reggie’s sleeve but thank you sir. The one bare arm, one sleeved look is iconic
Facts. USC players should be rocking the one sleeve look next season. I know Stephen Carr did Week 1 last season against, which was ironic because it was against Fresno State.
Definitely they unknowingly changed they game for the better.... i know i wore mines like that in high school
Never noticed this is where that look comes from . Good shit.
Lol boi the one arm sleeve look come from A.I. Not Reggie…🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤣🤣🤣
@@dixianaslimm2630 you don’t know what you talking about totally different sleeve we talking about
At 2:00 that kind of speed and explosiveness is absurd. One of the best running backs ever, give the man his Heisman back
and petro said exactly what i was thinking... he was just FAST on this night. "tonight his speed is at critical level"
One of the best College Running Backs, and a decent Pro Running Back.
They finally gave it back
He just got it back lol
Done and done
Fresno St wins that game if Bush doesn’t do what he did. I’m still in awe every time I see this. Absolutely absurd what he did. Incredible stuff.
Forreal. The defense couldn't stop them & Leinart was off that night.
JustBombsProductions Indeed. Thanks for the upload man. Keep up the great work.
I appreciate it my man! Thanks for watching!
Fresno state gave them one hell of game. Almost dam near won this game. Props to Fresno state. The best game of the year.
2:33 is probably the most memorable run in college football for me.
Ball behind the back. There’s no great quality video of that run it’s a shame
Couldn’t agree more. The coach doing the windmill on the sidelines as he cuts back is pretty sick.
This run is so similar to O.J Simpson’s iconic run against UCLA in 1967. From one great USC running back to the next OJ Simpson-Reggie Bush fight on ✌🏾
OJ’s run below 👇🏾

Agreed I was like 12 years old and was in awe
@@JoeJenson-in6dzsame!!
This is like Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl.
Lol - Facts
Came here today to remember the greatest performance ever
Ppl forget how good he was...because of his subpar nfl career...even tho I think he had a pretty good one
Reggie was before his time. Reggie would be damn near be unstoppable in today's NFL. Imagine Reggie bush in Sean McVay's offense with the Rams.
It's so great to have him back at SC.
The only thing I wish though was that the Oline blocked like they did back when he played. If they can, they'll be unstoppable.
Clay has never emphasized on recruiting well on the offensive line. The OL commits last class & this current one are the lowest ranked. Rankings aren’t everything, but I’m not confident in the development under this staff so players almost always get by off their pure talent during their careers.
That explosive acceleration and downfield speed that he possessed was absolutely inhuman!!! He’s still pound for pound arguably the best college football player I’ve ever seen in my 25 years of life!! Only thing I hated was he used to make unnecessary cuts, jukes and cutbacks on plays that could’ve been a touchdown, even in the NFL. I never understood why he would always do that even though he had such god given breakaway speed!
Yup like that pitch back in the Natty game. Will never forget that play 😥
Like at 3:13 if he keeps running for the far pylon it's a touchdown but he does one extra cutback inside.
crazy thing is we needed every yard to win lol
It was truly a pleasure to play with those Reggie bush USC teams on ncaa football games
Great player great game respect to fresno state the put up a good fight i think they were the only team to score 40 pts on them at home during the Reggie and Matt era
My longhorns put 41 in the championship;)
@@texasmade0109 that doesn’t count, Vince Young's knee was down on the pitch TD to Selvin Young
What was his 40 sheesh😳 bro bro’s Acceleration definitely had to been a 99
Fr
Bushs acceleration was unreal
His acceleration was probably about 107 lol I remember using him on the NCAA games back then and he didn't feel quick enough haha
Would’ve been dope to watch this live
I was there man. The whole thing. I remember the Fresno State QB like did a squat under center when he hiked the ball. Darnell Bing had an INT at the end of the game to seal the deal. The whole game was nuts! Back before games were super high scoring this was something like 95 combined points or something close to that.
Section 11 Row 63 Seats 115 and 116!
It was!
Shout out to Fresno. They played a hell of a game.
he was my hero as a kid growing up. thts how i became a 3 star ⭐️ RB in high school but i change my position my senior year. But he influenced me to be a good running back
Reggie inspired you to be a scrub. Cool story.
3 star ain't a scrub dude, considering how many running backs there are for every high school in the US 3 star is very impressive
Reggie is up there with Jr seau. I was freshman in San Diego playing and following reggie his senior year at helix high. He is home bred, made our city proud and LA. Brought the chip to New Orleans after Katrina. 🐐
I honesty always forget he was on that team. I think about Pierre Thomas first tbh
His helix highlights are stuff of legends I would give a right arm to see the full tape
@@Ariez___ Be careful what you wish for... 👀😂
@@henrycavillsrealmustache3553 I forgot Pierre Thomas even existed 💀
@@omegamanGXE man was a DAWG
Averaged 8.9 yards per carry that season.
Stupid good.
Greatest college running back in my eyes
Barry Sanders? Lol
Hes up there but greatest is hard to give. Barry was a monster, herschel walker was a BEAST, Tony Dorsett, Ricky Williams, LT, and even Lamichael James was a great college rb
AD
Darren McFadden was a beast too
OJ Simpson, Jim Brown, Emmit Smith, Marshawn Lynch
If Reggie played today he would of been more successful in the NFL!!!! Today’s game is all about getting your playmakers in space and favorable matchups and that was Reggie’s game to a T!!!!!
Yep definitely, that and back then teams absolutely refused to give him more than 10 carries a game. Look what he did with the dolphins, he was a legit number 1 back when given the opportunity
One of the greatest games in USC history with a player RB5 to match
That's a damn shame! LMAO! If I played for Fresno, I woulda faked an injury!!!
USC almost lost to Fresno State. USC was undefeated in 32 games and ranked #1. Bush had a phenomenal game, but he needed to because Fresno State was red hot. They shocked them out of their jock straps. Fresno State kept scoring on the Trojans because they had a veteran team with lots of their own talent.
Could've had about 700 if not for the shoelace tackles and trips. He's the best I've ever seen.
Give this man his 🏆 back!
#fighton✌🏼
He got it back bro !!!😎
This for all those cats that I was ballin with,
saying rap ain’t finna get my ass a scholarship
And I know every teacher's motto is
Music aint gon do for you what college did for me

@@333-y5j we all gonna raise a glass for the people that cant see
As much as I despise vince young and Texas. I give them a lot of credit to beat the most potent offense in the nation that USC team was stacked
When you think of college football backs that were men amongst boys, out of that handful, Reggie was one of them.
Lol to be fair the whole USC team was far Superior to Fresno State, if you out him on UNLV and they Played USC, it they Keyed on him he wouldn't get 100 yds
Reggie just said, “I dont care about y’all, I’m doing whatever I want.”
When USCwasUSC
Just imagine if he came out of college now. He would dominate in today’s game
He would had been irrelevant then and now in the SEC
@@kevinshell8392 It's hard to say if he would have had the same output. The game is played differently today. But keep in mind. The guys who helped run the show at Bama and LSU, two of the most recent championship teams from the SEC, were USC guys when Bush was playing. Ill name the 3 guys. Ed Ogeron (DL coach), Steve Sark (OC), and Lane Kiffen (OC). And a lot of the way Bama, LSU and most SEC teams play was adopted from the playbooks carried over from the Pac12 when Lane, Sark and Ed were there. So really, a team like Bama (today) is an advanced version of USC (then). It's no wonder who was the top dog then, and who's the top dog now. (BTW, Pete Carroll as a head coach ran his SC defense, kinda like Nick Saban runs his Bama defense. Both guys got their start as DB coaches).
With that said, with the talent SC had during its time, i dont think it would take them long to adjust to the play style of today, especially if they're using the same concepts they used back in the day that SEC teams adopted for today's game. Thus, Reggie, would likely have an big impact in 2021, hypothetically speaking.
This makes me want to play ncaa14 😁
the guy was a threat to house it just about every time he touched the ball in this game.
I remember watching this as a kid, Bush was scary good
Favorite college football player of all time
I was at this game and I've ever seen anything like it before or after! Without Bush, we would've had our asses handed to us that night, because the defense couldn't keep up with how FS was shoving points down our throats.
best college football player i have ever seen.
In 05....I was probably laying in the floor playing the hell out of some NCAA 05 on my PS2. This footage brings back good memories.....
What a great time
This guy is what I thought an RB should look like
Weird how Lesean McCoy is probably the only RB to play like him since him
*Video Idea*
Lesean McCoy vs Navy 2007
Very few. Saquon Barkley's another one.
Reggie Bush's all-time best run was getting away from Kim Kardashian!
That third quarter, the Coliseum was absolutely electric.
All those yards, but the Bulldogs played hard and were still in it in the fourth quarter, thanks to a Bush fumble. Even with the L they didn’t lose their ranking that week. Not bad for a mid major in the mid 00’s.
One of my favorite players in cfb ever.
THIS WAS THE GAME THAT WON HIM THE HEISMAN 🔥🔥🔥
Are they gonna reinstate his Heisman trophy though?
Good vid my guy
1:36 the most beautiful cut I’ve ever seen
When you see this, you think, why was he just OK in the NFL? Sometimes he was really good and then...nothing. For weeks. The guy had speed, moves, everything. A faster version of CMac or Kamara. Maybe just not durable, I don't know...it will always be a mystery to me.
Freshman in HS watching these Trojans play. Bush and White lead that backfield and all of college football for that matter this is when college football was at it's peak it'll never be like this again. Reggie is top 3 college RB of all time
Thank you so much for uploading this. Telling people bout this but not heavy a good upload was the drawback. No worry now big dog
wow, those cutbacks and that acceleration.
It’s a tragedy that he didn’t stay healthy and play in todays game, he was playing a different sport
I remember watching this game. And as great as it was I remember thinking to myself... USC's defense was suspect. Fresno state was good, but they weren't that damn good. No way Fresno state (#16) should've put up 42 on the #1 team in the land. And sure enough that USC defense got exposed in the championship game against Texas. This was the game, I believe, Texas watched closely to prepare for USC.
Remember watching this while it was going down.
Bush in college was a top 5 player of all time
I was just a young 16 year old boy when I saw this game live. I will never forget it. Reggie was like a god at Newport where I went to school. He needs the respect he deserves. Icon in the parts I come from.
Some of the touchdown saving tackles are almost as impressive as the runs
This game broke Pat Hill he was never the same after words.
I started rocking one white sleeve because of Reggie even though he didn't do it on purpose lol
I think people today like to forget how UTTERLY DOMINANT this man was in college.😁
The only college RB I enjoyed watching more (before he got injured) was Willis McGahee.😌
That one play where he only ran 14 yards? Step it up Reggie!
Came back to say, it’s about dang time the Heisman Trust has given Reggie Bush back his Heisman! Congrats!!!! Shouldn’t have been taken in the first place.
EVERY TIME REGGIE TOUCHED THE FOOTBALL YOU HELD YOUR BREATH. ANY PLAY HE COULD TAKE IT TO THE HOUSE!
You are the greatest#37.
✌️✌️
I was there... God I miss Trojan football. ✌
About time. I'm a huge ND fan, but Bush was amazing and never deserved to be thrown under the bus on behalf of Pete Carrol. They need to give him his Heisman back, he was BY FAR the best player in the country.
Was lucky enough to be at this game, so epic and thankful I got to see greatest in person on more than one occasion during Reggie’s run at SC.
I was there, with all the Fresno State fans in the corner. It was an exciting game with drama from start to finish. Everyone seemed kind of shell shocked after the game. I remember the fans from both sides being subdued while walking back to their cars.
Barkboard, toad?
Very impressive
Man idc he’s the best back college I’ve ever seen best college player nobody got me excited about football like this man literally why I wore 5 my goat
Top college back careers of my lifetime has to go in order
1.Barry sanders
2. Ricky Williams
3. Reggie Bush
4.Willis Mcgahee
5.Warrick Dunn
Honorable mention Derrick Henry
Melvin Gordon
You'd like to think this pro style offense with a classic style QB (non RPO qb) would still dominate the game today. Having guys like Bush and NFL ready recievers can still put points up in today's game.
Whoever got the ball last was going to win this game and that is what happened. 42-50 USC. Was Reggie great? Was Fresno State's defense terrible? Was Fresno State's offense great? Was USC's defense terrible? A combination of any or all?.....Who knows. Decide for yourself. Great game though. Go Bruins!
I still have yet to see a running back in college as exciting and explosive as reggie Bush
The NFL offenses weren’t ready for Reggie Bush. Today’s offenses would have utilized him better
People actually think he was a bust in the NFL but I tell you this, the Saints don’t even get to that Super Bowl without him, let alone win it. He was a nightmare matchup out of the backfield. You could always count on him for 1000 scrimmage yards a season and great returns
When we had a long run or big play we used to yell “Reggie”.
Did someone artificially age this video? I remember watching this game. It wasn’t that long ago.
NFL should make a rule that if you return a kickoff past the 25 yard line it should count as rushing yards. If you return it to the 35 you just added 10 rushing yards to your stats and if you return it the 15 then you lost 10 rushing yards. If you take a knee or it goes the Endzone then no rushing yards are gained or taken. I feel like return men aren’t getting any appreciation and players that also return the ball as well as play offense or defense aren’t rewarded in in the pro bowl votes or all pro votes and hell even MVP votes. I think this would be another way of measuring someone’s value on a team. Let me know what y’all think.
Reggie was amazing. Give him his heisman back.
And after all that from Reggie.......Fresno had that game and didnt win it.....and all usc fans know it!!
Reggie was only a middle of the road running back in the NFL. Crazy he was so dominant his last year in college but it just didn't translate on the next level.
i remember this game. i thought usc was going to lose. reggie and the offensive line saved the day.
Give REGGIE back his Heilman!!!!! Now
The trophy is back home where it belongs. #5 gonna get his roses again. The Heisman IS Reggie
This guy was a monster
We thought he'd be the second coming of Barry Sanders.
Here cause bijan Robinson grandpa was the ref lmao
Ok i see you did reggie justice bruh good stuff
Odd how he was just an OK runningback in the NFL.
Reggie slick was the creator of the 1 sleeve 😂, I could be wrong tho.
Sorry, but his run in the 4th quarter and handing off and as it turned out a fumble ,was the turning point in the game, possibly costing southern California a national championship.
If usc didn't have Reggie Bush that game fresno state would have beat them down
Was there at Coli that magic nite, electric
He was ineligible to play that year! So if I'm right they had a forfeit the games he played.. thanks to coach
If he played in 2020 he would be the best running back in the nfl
He had that kind of speed without having his football pants hiked up to his crotch with no knee pads like players these days.
I agree with bomani do it against power 5 comp like Vince young
