I've been looking for a a ST170 head to upgrade my silvertop MK2 Mondeo, I've got the black top wiring harness and the engine mount. How long did it take to port the whole head? I've got a pneumatic dremel ready to get to work. Never done it before and I can't find anyone or anywhere willing to do this kind of service. I'm just happy taking the imperfections off without digging too much.
@@SparkplugsteveI'm not sure when I will get my hands on a ST170 head, my silvertop has 38k miles on it(I'm the second owner been 12 years). I think I'll practice on my Duratec Focus, it needs a valve job. Anyways I loved the amount of detail you worked on those ports.
@@Sparkplugsteve just a matter of getting the tensioner and belt sorted out and a spacer for the alternator. I've swapped a silvertop X blacktop before without problems. Also need an aftermarket ecu for the cams.
Entertaining video. Looking forward to seeing if porting and head skims gains any power
rowanlewisuk I feel Special now.
How much power gains? I want to do a fresh build I'd like to keep it n/a if 50-75 over factory is possible
Hi mate do you have a link to the sanding rolls you used?

Andrew Lindley of Al developments does them for around £350.
