I have been a Sony user for the last 2/3 years. I love their camera but I have had my eye on the Lumix S5 for a while now. It seems ridiculous that it is so cheap. But I decided leaving sony for lumix was my best option.

What's your thoughts on the Lumix S5? Is it for you?
This cam made me so much joy and money to go Fulltime Filmmaker 👍 and I purchased the S1h recently
I have the exact same setup but bought all used for more than your deal😂. The 50 and 85 at 1.8 is sooo good and creamy. Love all the custom buttons on the Lumix. For my work I use MF and the linear MF with the kit lenses is a game changer. Thought I had to get FF cinema lenses but the native are great to rack focus with and you get great photography lenses in the same lens.
Ah so many good deals in the uk for the s5 currently. But with the new s5ii coming in February 2023, i think I’ll wait, especially given that they have their new PDAF system in this new camera.
Waiting to see what the S5 ii has. Lens bundle deals are incredible at the moment, due to stock clearance for the new model. It will have PDAF, so your lenses will work great. 2nd had S5 will lose a LOT of value though.
@@bigdhav yes maybe :) but if you are a good filmmaker you can archive amazing results with a S5. I worked for billion dollar companies with my Lumix S5

Fire sale to move inventory for the s5ii. Still a great deal! Can prob even sell it if so desired and make your money back at least.
Switched to LUMIX last year when my a7iii stopped working. Great camera , cheap lenses. Bought it from CEX for 650 with 2 years warranty 😂 going to get mark two soon.
Few other videos on people moving to Panasonic. Exciting time with the new models coming out. Recently into Panasonic full frame. Pretty good deals right now. Mine came with a 85mm for only 1497. For me the L mount is where it’s at.

I have the Panasonic S1H and have used it for many years - it has amazing quality and many pro features. However, I recently purchased a Sony A74 specifically for the AF and have never looked back from a a versatility and ease of use perspective. I still use the S1H, however the A74 is my go-to camera for most of my workflows for now at least :-). I'm sure you'll enjoy the S5 though. Great system, menus, features, and image quality. Enjoy!
Love it so far! AF is definitely slower than Sony but I don't feel like its a deal breaker

Some rumours circulating that the new version with PDAF might be released in the next few days. If that happens and the price isn’t higher IR would be amazing.

I got one about a year ago, and I really like it. I shoot video, and I did my homework before I got it. Very good camera. The autofocus is Not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. You need it in your hands to work with the autofocus settings to Know. The lenses are expensive with Panasonic. But I enjoy My LUMIX S5.
Yeah, I think Lumix uses more gold and silver material in their lenses or something because they are very pricey! Canon has come down on theirs a little over the past couple of years but Panasonic has put about an extra $500 on their lens above other manufacturers for some reason! Why? Because people are paying it! Oh well!

I just did the same thing, and got a very similar deal. I've been using the S5 for about a month and a half now, and I am through the roof happy. About to get a couple of anamorphic lenses, because I can use them internally on the s5, without having to go through any de squeezing outside of the camera. And the colors, they will make your head explode. :-) Low light capability. All of it. So good, and so happy.
I saw that Wex deal - crazy value. You'll love the S5 (I love mine) and the kit lens is better than you think. Starting at 22mm onwards, it's very sharp indeed.

Thank you! I have the Lumix S1, with the 24-105, 50 and 85 lenses. I've never used Sony (and my last Canon was the OG 7D) so I can't say how far ahead/behind they are, but the S1 is a beast! I have the Panasonic GH5 as my B-cam currently, thinking of upgrading to the S5 from it, since S5 is similar in size to GH5, and has the same sensor and look as the S1. Looking forward to seeing what you create with the S5 :)

I almost went for the S5 myself. Its a killer camera and the colors from the Panasonic are, IMO the best. It was just the auto focus that held me back, so many mixed reviews on it. Let me know how you get on with it.
This was the only thing that stopped me getting it a while ago. I really dont think its as bad as people say. Slower yes but nothing wrong with it
I just got rid of my A7IV for this camera, again lol. The AF is usable, specially with guys like Josh Cameron & Sam Holland giving tips on using the AF. The colors and picture that comes out of the S5 is cinema camera level. The photography side of it is super underrated as well.
S5 II is going to be announced soon
Sony improved menu system a bit, last year, but before comparing S series menus with Sony's menu system was laughable, like Panasonic light years ahead in usability, like night and day Or for example you can dump all settings in config file and transfer between cameras or save for different situations. My only compaint with S5 it is, cons and pros, small. For large lenses it will be not perfectly balanced like S1/S1R
so what did you shoot this video with? and word on the street is Panasonic is dropping a successor to the S5 with a new autofocus system. I will trade all my canon gear asap

Man... still one of the best hybrid cameras going into 2023. I've had the a7siii, a7iv, and xh2s and this S5 is such a powerful tool for video and is great for wedding/portrait photography. The image/colors coming out of this camera in my humble opinion is better than Sony. Just absolutely love it. I even use it when I conduct interviews setting it to AFC (though I do check focus time to time). You're gonna love that camera as well as the lenses you got with it! My kit only came with with the Lumix 85 1.8, so I bought the Sigma 28-70 2.8 and it's great.
Deals like this really make you realize how much profit companys like canon and sony make - they even sell much higher numbers than panasonic.

I was choosing between every camera available with a near unlimited budget. I was considering the GH6, A7s3 and the L mount S series. I chose the S5 becaue I believe L mount has a very bright future. I got the S5 with the 24-70s Pro series with the intention of upgrading the S5 body later. If the rumours are true, there will be a successor coming soon which may blow the competition out of the water (especially if it actually has a new PDAF system!). Lets see what the new year olds!
I have been using Lumix since the GH4! I got the S5 earlier this year but I still reach for my G9 and GH6 most of the time because don't have the lens choice I would like to have yet but, I do have the Rokinon Cine DS set of lenses and I can say without any reservations, the S5 and those lenses blow everything else I have personally shot on away! I got the S5 because I wanted a full frame camera for my Cine lenses and to use for video. The S5 is a wonderful photo camera as well but I use my GH6 for most of my photo work! The hires mode on the GH6 and the S5 are amazing and they are incredible for large format work but with the GH6 you can do it handheld and that's how I use it most of the time! The G9 is still great but the GH6 has a better sensor IMO with several better features as well as the ability to shoot in PROREZ right out of the camera! The color science in the Lumix camera is the best IMO!

Word on the street is that Panasonic has finally developed a autofocus system on par with Canon and Sony. And that they are going to make an announcement soon regarding the S5 mark ll. That is probably the reason why the S5 is heavily discounted. If reliable autofocus is not important to you. The S5 is a great deal.
The thing is you can run any of the new Sony cameras alone whereas for the same results you would require at least two people running one camera. The auto focus is that good. S5 is a beast though. What you get for that price is mind boggling!

I truly hated the AF of that camera, unreliable is the word for it!
Beside that it's don't Teather with Capture one.
Otherwise good camera, it's cheep now since rumour is that they realease Lumix S5 a new soon, that don't use the same AF system.
