Pressing the eject button for 15 seconds or until you hear motor recalibrate automatically worked for me. The disc wouldn’t go in and when i tried to insert it the blue just blinked regularly for few seconds then shut off. But this trick worked surprisingly.
Mine does not even take the disc the drive way is blocked and it had my disc inside and i ejected it by pushing down the white pin thats blocking the way and it also shuts down its self when it making sound in the dvd drive
@@lvec1688 I think the reason it happened to me is because I opened it to clean it when a disc was inside and I had to take the disc reader apart to clean and when I put it together again (without the disc)the white pin blocked it because it tough the disc was in so I took it apart and put it together with and without the disc like 10 times and for some reason I don’t remember (I think I had the console on) the white pin went down into the console and I could put a disc in.
W. Brandon, I’m having the exact same issue with the exact same sound you hear when you put in the disk. It’s like the disk drive is not catching the disk. My PS3 is used, just bought it last week, and looking at the marks on the console it definitely looks like it has been banged around a little if not dropped, just as you mentioned in the video. If this is my problem too it’ll be an easy fix. Crossing my fingers!! Thanks so much for this video. I’ve been looking for days for a video like this one.
having a similar issue with my PS3 slim -- go to feed it a disc, it gets stuck halfway in so I gently push it til it takes, and then I can hear the gears struggling to seat it properly (just like in this video) then it takes and reads just fine. I'll be opening it soon to do another clean (cleaned it a couple years ago when the drive stopped reading discs) and replace the thermal paste since that hasn't been done at LEAST since I got it 9 or 10 years ago, and I'll take another look at the drive to see if I can fix it. I'm hoping the fix is this simple, and that I'd accidentally left one side unclipped when I cleaned the lens initially
Hi I have a problem with that white arm in the disc, somehow it doesn't move around freely as it should without the spring, it kind of gets stuck and have to force it to move, how do I fix that problem
What model of PS3 is that? I have two of the original models of PS3 Slim which are the CECH-2001A and CECH-2001B. The A and B model are just exactly the same just A came with 120GB and B came with 250GB. It looks different in the inside and the disc drive is different too than the one in this video.
I have a similar problem with my ps3 slim, sometimes the disc just doesn't go far enough. We have resorted to using a blank disc and gently pushing the disc further in. Works half the time all of the time
When I try to put the disc in it will go through just not automatically, like it's not being grabbed and put on the track, but rather inserting it in the machine loosely, obviously not playing. When I tip the console feeder facing down it comes right out. When I hit eject it pushes it out whirring and beeping and all.
Yooo mine was doing this for years doing it right now and I never knew whyyy I’m trying to figure out now but mine also don’t come out all the time at will make that studering noise
Hello. I've got one of the slim PS3's, and I had a laser issue. So I cleaned the laser, and when I reassembled it, I cannot insert a disc. That white piece is in the way, it won't move. I understand there's a gear I need to wind up to that piece moves. But I don't know how to get to it.
Try pressing the eject button for 15 seconds or until you hear motor recalibrate automatically. It worked for me. Then restart the ps3 and try inserting disc now.
