- Finishing Turbo D16 Civic Street Tuning
-----------------------
Got a lot of stuff done on the Turbo D16Y8 Civic over the last few days...
I got the intercooler piping shortened. I disconnected my exhaust patch because it was hanging down too low, and I installed my strut tower brace!
I also finished my street tune -- right now I'm pushing 11psi with air fuel ratios in the mid to high 11s when boosting and high 14s low 15s while cruising and under light acceleration.
The civic is tuned with Crome and a p28 ecu using a moates ostrich 2.0 to interface the ECU to my macbook. - Авто та транспорт
She is sounding so clean! Lmao you said it right before I did! “Sweating bullets!”
Parts all over the place:
*No one ever* :
*Tuner Things* : "I don't really wanna do that right now."
Sounds super nice 👍🏼
Thank you!
Hey bud shes sounding good!! And i know about being fat and sweating it sucks so i feel you bro
3 Trucks that are Dodge 57. TWO in prestigious condition. ONE still in my barn.......Cheers! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
Wheel and tire spec? Thank you
Hey what kind of intercooler is that ?
What make is the blow off bro???
That’s sick man, I just subbed, as I’m trying to Turbocharge an EK Honda Civic (EK1) D16y4, as not many people stick to the non Vtech motors, I live in Australia and the D series motors are super common but the car scene here people aim for Vtech & turbo Vtech
Robbie Fayad I’m from Aussie to, just turbod my d16Y4 on the weekend haha
Hell yeah man thanks for the comment and sub! Honestly I'm not sure if I'm going to even run the vtec right now on my engine haha its crazy how things are similar but different in our two worlds. Cheers!
Rushy, that's dope what kinda power is it making? Did you use a kit to do it? Cheers!
@@TunerThings Tuner Things hahaha cheers for the reply man., i love humble youtubers, honestly hats off man, my car is like stock apart from full exhaust but if you wanna see a stock d16y4 with 2-step check out my recent vids on my channel, i believe im the only person to put a BEE R rev limiter on a stock d16y4 HAHAHA its great fun until i can legally turbo it
@@ItsReactHQ thats sick man. have you got instagram? id love to follow the build
🏁🏁🏁👌
thank you kindly
sounds awesome, what are you running for an exhaust? what turbo? bov?
Honestly it's just open downpipe right now, I have about a foot gap between it and the rest of the exhaust still need to get it patched. The turbo is a cheapo CXRacing 50 trim and the BOV is a first gen TurboXS RFL that I restored!
@@TunerThings awesome! Man does it ever sound good haha, I'm shocked it's just open downpipe, thanks for the response :)
@@bw1583 absolutely thanks for taking the time to watch and comment its much appreciated!!
How are you controlling boost without a wastegate? I noticed you said you were going to install one but currently you didn’t have one?
I have a wastegate, I believe I was installing an upgraded one in this video
Looking good brotha though you where 😰 bullets becouse of the cops 👮 😁
hahaha I did actually get the cops called on me after the video before this lol
Is that 2.5 intrrcooler pipe? From intake to intercooler?
Unfortunately yes. Definitely would have gone 3 inch had it been an option in the kit though..
@@TunerThings what kit is it emusa? Or cxracing 2.5 inch is pretty good for about 400hp.
@@HardKnocks160s Its a CXRacing kit - definitely a good intro to the honda game but for sure needs upgrades to be something special. Wastegate is Emusa though! Kit one was leaky
What kinda build are YOU working on?
D16y7 turbo vitara build
D16y8. Looking for turbo info and you’re the man thank you so much
I couldnt help but notice the check engine light. Is it a catalyst code? Anyway, from what i understand these hondas go in to a kind of "limp home mode" when ANY code is thrown. It purposely makes the two middle cylinders run rich apparently and I dont really understand why exactly..... so if you drive it like that for hundreds or thousands of miles you run the risk of burning or badly fouling the valves and they wont seat properly.
Wait does it really? My Civic burns hella oil at high rpms like about 4500 or more so i just keep it under. I have 5 engine codes all o2 sensors except the evap canister code. It burns alot of oil and i go through quite a bit however, it does leak oil and also has 262k on it
I don't think this is particularly true... Could you share a link to this info somewhere?
