    Just so you guys know, there is thread locker on the flywheel bolts just accidentally didnt include that video clip. As long as they are torqued correctly to the 87ft lb then there shouldn't be a problem with them backing out. Its the correct torque spec that's holding them into place, not threadlocker. I understand that's a safety measure used though, so thats why I did applied it as well. Happy new year everyone!

    I usually stand the engine verticle and put the trans on top, when it's fighting against me, and just jiggle it around till it pops on. It sometimes helps to recheck the bolts and everything cause something could be off,
    A fresh set of eyes (Travis) can help with this too. If your ever get frustrated with anything, it's a great time to walk away from it, that's how things brake.

    Next time use a 17mm deep socket on the harmonic balancer bolt with a breaker bar, lay the handle end of the breaker bar on the ground and then torque all the bolts 🤗 makes it so much easier and you won't have to use a hammer next time to hold the flywheel. Wham bam thank you ma'am 😀

    I had the same issue when i was researching lightened flywheels for my B series. I just went for it as I want those revs to come up as quickly as possible. Got to get into that VTEC range quickly.

      So I guess it’s a matter of opinion on what you want your car to do. So maybe the revs will fall faster, but they also rev faster. It’ll be interesting to test that out on track.
      But yeah man, it’s all ready to go in so next Monday’s video will be that!

    personally there’s more loss in a light weight flywheel than there is gain, the flywheel store’s energy from combustion and uses to help with compression and exhaust and intake strokes so it smooths out the engine a lot it also helps with uphill bc of the momentum the lighter it is the less momentum it has in the uphill

    The revs will climb faster, but will drop a bit faster, I started with a semi light flywheel (liked it) to a 9 pound flywheel (love it)
    My advice to anyone is to start small and get use to it, then go from there. Do not go straight to a ultra light weight flywheel without some knowledge of how it's going to react.
    If I can teach my gf how to drive with a 9 pound flywheel with no problem, anyone can learn it. You will be just fine👍🏻

    So how do you know if the butterfly pin is around the ball? Do you have to push it on there or somehow get your hands behind it to open the butterfly pin more?

    • @RefineMovement
      @RefineMovement 6 років тому

      So once you get to that point, work the clutch fork back and forth like I showed in the video and you'll be able to tell. If it is not seated properly the fork and throwout bearing will just fall off and wont stay in place.
      But so you can also look in that opening on the transmission case and look behind the fork, you'll be able to see if the pin is around that ball. If it's not or you are having trouble with it, I'd recommend taking a screw driver and just carefully push the pin into place. I had to do that before, it works well. I hope that helps man. The Firm, Sebring, maybe Daytona or Homestead. So I need to see what type of setup would work well for most of those. Meaning do I focus on acceleration or is top end more important.

      Did you keep spinning the pressure plate around, trying different hole and peg combinations? One set of peg and hole combo is bigger than the other two. Otherwise if you already knew that I’d say send that piece back and get your money back

    Stage 3? Why? It’s a single jingle with no power.

      It's a stage 3 pressure plate with a stage 1 disc. So it will retain a little bit more driveability with that combo than a straight stage 3. But I chose that because this is my track only car. Not a daily. Although it has low power I still want that pressure plate to bite hard and get the power going. Stage 3 is commonly recommended for track cars.
