      u need to make a plate to bolt the iacv and the other side two hose fittings for the vacuum/air lines to the vibrand vacuum block

    What did you set your valve lash at? Zero, or .009-.011 as per valve adjustment?

      Hey thank you for that! :) and great question TBH i set it to "zero" lets say on aftermarket cams to see how accurate they are then on the final degree setting i do it at 0.007 intake and 0.009 exhaust
      usually its still close but sometimes a tad bit off...just a preference i do it this way at the last moment and its something that if i did mention on the vid it would be too long and boring 🤣 plus I have no concrete explanation to why
      hence "I prefer"

      heyyy thanks for watching the videos, we are all equal enthusiasts here! :)
      on headers... believe it or not my 14.8sec best run back in the day was with a local non stainless 4-2-1 so any proper header even Ninja or other makers are fine
      on scav (im not a fan) cuz i dynoed mine years back and only gained 4-5whp but the noise and drone comfort on hwy drive was sacrificed
      but with it 24in body the longer the body the bassier sound and nevermind thosethatsay 18-24in is better they both run the same if the total length remains the same
      example 32in total exh length w/ 18in scav
      is the same as
      example 32in total exh length w/ 24in scav
      see what i mean?

      Crower website has all the lobe centers of all their cams
      Also BrianCrower has
      And Webcam their website shows the ideal lobe center too
      And that’s the number to target the settings
      stock p08 cam lobe center is also somewhere online but that’s not really difficult to set even without degreeing

      was assembling a stock sohc vtec so i figured perfect time for a camdegree segment... cuz its a stock sohc engine = no adjustable camgear lol! but interesting u can see how its a shade bigger than the USDM counterpart
      we didnt check vtec but if exh is bigger def intake is "moar" lol

      @@SRDmotorsports to be honest i have no damn clue on how that works because i haven't experienced it first hand, plus mine is stock LOLOL also saw that other channel i watch which is "shop off v-pro" (some shop in thailand) use a dial indicator and nothing else to set cam timing. Any idea why he does that instead?

      @@mikodelacruz without a degree wheel? most likely cuz our Pulleys have a TDC marker
      so the dial indicator can help as be the "indicator" for when ur on the spot

    .368 how u come to this number ? The indicator never changed direction indicating area of maximum lift or cam lobe centerline correct ? Got a sk2 stg4 sohc vtec cam and no cam card to give some idea of where valve needs to start opening in relation to piston location in cylinder. And only gives advertised specs in metric value instead of most common measures at .050 lift ?

      @@4077661466jp lift at valve not cam… the math is discussed as such… to get the lobe “center” it’s 212* duration divide by 2 and subtract the lower number which is 6 so the lobe center/max lift is 100deg on the degree wheel
      It’s hard to find it if we just adjust camgear that’s why we get the “opening” and “closing” then divide to be in the center

      @@SRDmotorsports is what i meant but English isn't easily wrote instead of said but the indicator as you turned was in constant direction without change in direction needle was turning, u just stopped turning and said 368, i was expecting you to turn crank until the dial indicator suddenly changed direction indicating the highest location on cam lobe, then writing whatever the number equals. So just tryin to figure out how 368 was calculated ? Tryin to understand whats being counted to equal the number? As different views on this whole procedure is available but not alot with Dseries engines

      Im currently trying to attempt to degree my son d16 with skunk2 stage 4 cam, it doesn't have cam card or measurements thats normally found on cams given specs at .050 etc, skunk2 says 13mm and 252 dur but on the cam specs online cam came with nothing to give a idea where it needs to be degreed at in relation to #1 piston ?

    So my speedfactory Cam call for 44.5*bbdc and 4.5* atdc and 110LC. do i need to adjust my cam gear until i get this numbers ? Everytime i adjust the cam gear i always get 110LC but bbtc and atdc number change

      check the exhaust details as I showed here , havnt seen the speedfactory cam card but it should have the exhaust opening and closing and it’s lobe center (which at times is labeled as peak lift)
      Then we can go from there…

      @@SRDmotorsports Their exchaust cam card call for opening 44.5* BBTC closing 4.5* ATDC Lobe Center 110. I retarded the cam gear 4.5* to get those number, is that the correct way to do it? At 0* on cam gear i got opening 50* BBDC closing 10* BTDC. Dunno where they get closing for 4.5* ATDC from i cant hit that number when i put the dial indicator back to .050 always end up at BTDC.

      BUT! ur at “zero” ka
      50BBDC and 10btdc which with the math is still 110 wtf
      Can u double check ur readings or the cam card? It’s exhaust? I mean u could check intake but that’s a lot of work by locking the vtec on a SOHC
      Lemme know what u find here and we can continue dm’s at the page if needed…

      Yes i checked it with different cam angle still come out to 110LC , and thats the exhaust spec on speedfactory , checked at zero lash @0.050”. Is 4.5* cam retard too much? Thats only cam angle that will come out to 44.5* bbdc opening and 4.5* atdc

    FOR ME IT'S STILL BETTER TO CHECK THE VTEC LOBE SPECIALLY IF YOUR BUILDING A HI COMPRESSION MOTOR. SO YOU CAN CHECK VALVE TO PISTON CLEARANCE "MOST" NOT ALL AFTER MARKET CAMSHAFT FOR VTEC D SERIES HAVE A BIGGER OR HIGHER LOBE ON THE INTAKE SIDE, MAY BE IT'S TIME CONSUMING BUT IT'S BETTER TO CHECK IT SO YOU WON'T RUN IN TO CLEARANCE ISSUE 🙂 BUT STILL NICE VIDEO SIR THANKS...

    I can tell by the water pump that this is a non v-tec ZC bottom end the pm6 casting and not the P28 casting ZC which came with a v-tec head so this bottom end has PM6 pistons

      excellent eye yes its the jdm zc counterpart of a d16a6 botom end, head came off a jdm d15b p08 (we rarely get usdm stuff in our country)

    But really for more up end power is better a Weber carb plus i think the best way to have timing and cam really work to the best is to take it to a stiff hill and here where everything can be put together to work to the max old school style that what i do and did with my Geo tracker and crx big difference from normal timing the cam can be retarted with timing and carb fuel and air all at once and bingo old school style nothing fancy if the car run strong in hills and power kp pulling and want more it set up from bottom to up end power That the reason i love weber carbs or carbs becouse even the needles and flow bow can be upgraded to anything really simple and 🪛 tune.Thanks gd video but im more old school style guy with a gd set up and gd cam the vtec and turbo will be dropping gear from 4 to 3 jjjjj in a gd all motor carb set up timing and light weight is the key and a bit more hp 50 to 60 hp on a d15b2 with the right combo become a beast compared to others around 10.1 to 11.1 compression gd enough to ramble jjjj 😁 from junkyards parts cant bit it amigo jjjjj 😁
