I dig how these things look! They didn't just fix up some old, junked PCs, wipe'em down, and shove'em out the door. They made the effort to throw together those slick, translucent cases. So Props to them for the presentation and cool looking hardware. As for the system itself, for $80 it looks legit. It's not gonna be a great experience but for the money it could work. Probably better than a Pandora Box at that cost also.
What do you recommend as the best device currently for all in one, fully loaded. Looking for a system with all the roms, runs smoothly, good controllers. Ideally under 200. As long as performance is good, controllers are responsive, and can connect to 4ktv. Just so many choices out there, hard to determine what isn't garbage. Interested in all the old snes, genesis, nes, master system. I also want it to be able to run sega saturn at least with all the games. Thank you
For me... the build is everything... Am I asking too much that the roms are clean, organized and tested? If it doesn't play right... it doesn't belong. China... if you are listening... if you want to get a skeptical American buyer to take a chance on your system.... make sure your build is TIGHT. We don't care about 75,000 games, we'd be happy with 10k that work. Give us that, and you're gonna sell a lot of units. On top of that... you only gotta do it once... then just adjust it for different hardware. The messy rom dump stuff is an IMMEDIATE no for me.
I did buy a preloaded mini pc bundle a few years back that used Batocera 30, it was OK but to get the most out of it it's always better to upgrade the os version to a more recent version and seek out your own rom collections to put it on. I've replaced many of the bin cue, iso, gdi roms with CHD but I was able to add more games as a result and I also stripped out the video media which takes up quite a bit of space. If you want the best experience with PS2 and gamecube emulation, a gpu or an AMD cpu that supports Vulkan will outperform intel graphics.
Lol. This is exactly what I'm working on with one of my old motherboards. The only difference is that mine was to be a all in one media center. With some games added. Was still working on a case and power for it.
Nice vid. For me, it's all about the controller support and how dialed it is for the different consoles. Been a fan of you since your Odroid XU4 stuff and that device had power but the controllers always needed endless tweaking in ES
i bought a redmi pad se brand new for $140 with 8gb ram, and it emulates as good as this if not better for some titles. And it's portable, too. Also runs hl2,ep1/ep2 portal and counter strike source ( at a decent res,, medium settings, 90+ fps). Also plays warcarft 3, diablo 2, homm 3, red alert 2, even cod4, oblivion and up to mw3 is perfectly playable, also, all the android games ever made, so i don't see a point to these things, especially since most people have a pc way more capable already.
Yeah , I don't get why anyone would want this thing, it be better off as a office PC , probably would play old *RTS Warcraft 1,2,3 Diablo 1, Doom maybe even "Heroes of Might and Magic*. Crazy to see *SEGA Saturn* and *Gamecube* was literally going to make this horrible device explode 😅
@@joezar33It has an intel Celeron Processor 1037U 2M Cache, 1.80 GHz which was launched in Q1 2013. It is not from Win95 or DOS era. That CPU was for very light tasks like display ads in stores. It sucks for gaming. So better buy some old PC from Ebay than this crap.
Interesting device. E-waste is a growing concern. I have a few old laptops I've repurposed, can't throw them away. ROM dumps suck. Nobody needs 70k games but the number sells drives/devices. Then people realize after a month that they don't play 69k of them and another bunch dont run right. 😂
I picked this up and there is some serious controller lag no matter what you play. Even atari lags like crazy. Tried 8bitdo and the controllers it came with. Even scrolling through the menu to pick a game lags or sometimes scroll on its own.
I got the exact one but with black enclosure which was all beaten up from packaging. I just use the board for my arcade cabinet but later replaced with a full size pc board and clone it to ssd.
I bought an HP Elitedesk 705 G4 (USFF) with a Ryzen 3 2200 GE for that money. Swapped the ram for 8 gigs dual channel (4+4) and it runs batocera 40 from USB. Runs PS2 without hacks, OpenGL, at 3x no problem, even Snowblind Engine games (tested Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 & 2 PAL Versions, fires also didn't cause any slowdown or glitches) at 100%. Don't buy crappy emulation boxes.
Whew, too choppy for me. I'll wait another year and see if they've got it worked out for PS2 and it would have been great to see some actual Wii games played other than the VC stuff. Great to see those Rebirth games though, but I want to see if it'll run The Last Story or something of that nature. Also curious about GC.
Truthfully, the games look incredibly sharp. Though, I can’t help but wonder if there are settings in order to make these games wide screen without stretching them. I know some emulators allow you to do that with 4:3 content. Have you checked the settings to see how you can manipulate the video and audio? I may pick a more powerful version of something like this up soon. As there are so many of the classic games that I would love to play. Though, I would want the hardware running these games to be powerful enough to run them without slow down or hitches. Up to possibly through the Xbox 360/PS3 era. I know some of them are even emulating Xbox one and PS4 stuff now.
Thank you fot pointing out that temus problems aren't just Chinese sellers. I'm wanting to get one of these units but am unsure which one, so I'm hoping to get eome good advice from your channel and others like it. I used to be a heavy gamer, but lost a lot of interest when every console I'd buy would crap out within a week or two! The last one being the Xbox 360 elite, which destroyed games the first day I had it!! Needless to say I've got a bad taste in my mouth after that B.S. especially at thoughs prices. Do you have any recommendations? I enjoy all sorts of genres, more so FPS, RPG, and RACING. LOVE YOUR CONTENT I FIND IT VERY HELPFUL AND INFORMATIVE.
Nice little system but i just recently got around to building a emulation machine with an old ryzen pc and it runs all upto ps2,gamecube etc and only cost me just under £50 ($55) so not a bad buy at all.Runs all what ive thrown at it with some tweaking here and there running retrobat on it as a front end for all emulators.
I’m looking for something exactly like this in a similar price range. Really just want it to be able to play everything up to the GameCube/ Dreamcast era with minimal work getting crap to run (I loathe retroarch) I don’t mind cleaning up the roms list myself.. just want stuff to run. Bonus if it can run Saturn.
Biggest question is of what quality are the game controllers? Wouldn't expect them to compare well against something like the better 8bitdo (@ $40 each), but if they are decent...clone the disk to NVME or SATA SSD, and drop it in an N100 board....maybe dig up and older 2G Nvidia or RTX GPU from the junk bin...Think we might really have something capable of emulating some much higher end consoles. and still stay around $200.
If you want to pcheck emulation speed, try some of the latest Amiga Aga games with exact emulation settings. It kills almost anything. An xbox on pc is not a big deal, same system.. also most of 3d consoles emulation needs gpu not cpu power. Amiga emulation can’t be accelerated with gpu, it is very cpu hungry due all the special chips of the system. (That’s why Amiga emulating softwares have the settings for different fidelity levels like blitter emulation, sprite emulation and so on. Cycle exact modes are big cpu killer.
There was Castlevania, Contra, and Gradius. These 3 Rebirth games were WiiWare titles. And they're not 'as easy' to find now as they were. You still can but it'll require some digging. We did just get the DS Castlevania games recently, just out of nowhere, so maybe, unless there's a very specific reason. I'd like to think it's possible we'll see something more.

Wow. That means it's using a hard drive cache for extra memory. Yikes.
If that's the case and it is using hard drive cache as mentioned, would upgrading the ram work as well? I think he said it has 4gb?
how do you clone to a SSD??
