No one can come close to this man’s genius and influence on all the comedians of today. He is the GOAT! Period, full stop. I love Chappell but Pryor is the GOAT!
The odor bit...love it! My cousin seems allergic to soap and water...French and ItalIan dude about 60. He walks in a room and the rodents scatter for fresher air!
As a white chick born and raised in Africa, I could so relate to seeing your own people being the majority for the first time -- when I came to Ireland I felt the same! So many white people just like me. It was surreal! LOVE Richard Pryor since the 80's, baby!
04:38- The African Lion stalking the tourists is thinking - "Yeah... get yo ass out the car... and bring your camera with you." ... 😂🤣 - Pryor was a "comedy king".
I played the odor bit at least a dozen times straight and laughed just as hard each time. His body language was a huge part of his delivery and equally funny as his lines. Another Pryor bit that doubles me over with laughter, even without video, is when he spoofs “The Exorcist” and walks into his daughter’s room and says, “Bitch, what’s wrong wit ya?” Everything before and after that is also hysterical. He was a comedic genius at the highest level. I still say that nobody can touch him.
24 years old. just now getting into pryor, started with his 76’ record bicentennial N, heard Joey Diaz talking about it and praising it and damn he’s right. Absolute genius this man is!
I remember seeing this on a VCR in IRELAND in 1980 and my brothers and me laughing our asses off. In Ireland. In 1980. God bless your beautiful soul, Richard, from Ireland in 2024, with Chris, Kevin, and Dave baring your torch❤
A great, funny storyteller. Appealed to ALL youth of late 60’s/early 70’s. Hasn’t gone stale over the years. Man, he was/and still is, the best on stage comedian who also crossed over to character portrayal very effectively. What a genius. RIP, Richie, Love & Peace, JaneR
Richard Pryor was definitely the Michael Jordan of Comedy every single comedian who came behind him all gave him his due amazingly all his jokes were about his own life experience,s Rest in peace my brother your were definitely a legend
Black Americans still afraid to visit our beautiful home to this day, please come at least once in your lifetime it's a better place than you would ever think.
This man was on another level when it came to comedy and he has a certain way he works the crowd and the stories that he tells are unbelievable and that's why he is a legend and their will never be another one like him. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
There are Gods in every part of entertainment. Spielberg and Scorsese cinematic Gods. Michael Jackson and The Beatles music Gods. Richard Pryor and George Carlin will forever be stand up Gods.
I remember when my friend Tom and I went to see this comedy special at our local theater. There was a full house. I think Tom and I were the only white patrons in the theater.
Pryor is in my humble opinion not just the best comedian ever but he broke every damn barrier that existed in America before he set foot on a stage for the first time and every other time after that.
When I 1st seen him at 13 on Lady Sing the Blues. I didn't know he was that funny. Then when I was in high school. My friends brother had the album "Bicentennial N.....r." I was hooked after that.
There is so much humanity and grace here, Richard loved his monkeys a paragon of humanity, if we were like he was, people would have a spit more grace, understanding of your fellow man and all that jazz - Yes we exist, we are here,: there are no races, we are all in the same place, Love the next person you see: they may well have the same grace you possess
🔥me☝️ I was about 12yrs old when I watched this on a HBO Comedy Special. It’s still just as funny today as it was then. Even better because of the memories of my older brother and dad watching it with me. Richard we all loved you so much. I hope your still doing your shows for the other Angels in Heaven. GodBless and Rest In Peace ✌️💚🖖
Sorry to correct you but Richie never played an acting part in the movie Blazing Sadles. The reason: "Pryor was Brooks' original choice to play Sheriff Bart, but the studio, claiming his history of drug arrests made him uninsurable, refused to approve financing with Pryor as the star. The role of Sheriff Bart went to Cleavon Little, and Pryor remained as a screenwriter instead."
In 1979, After touring Kenya’s national museum, Pryor sat in a hotel lobby and he said a voice in his head told him to look around and tell me what you see. He said, he told the voice, “I see all colors of people doing everything.” And the the voice asked, “Do you see any n___rs?” And Pryor responded, “No.” And the voice responded saying, “Because they aren’t any.” Pryor went on to describe that he started crying and said “I was wrong. I ain’t gonna never call another Black Man a (n-word) ever again.”
Aw, jeez Richard, so funny! Went to a James Brown concert on New Year's Eve in the 1970s when he was at the peak. We looked across the large venue and way on the other side we saw another white family. So when midnight came, James said they want me to get out of here in the next half hour but I'm James Brown and I think I have the power to keep this show going for a bit longer. He performed for another hour and did The cloak thing and it was like a tent revival. It's too bad that the people that took our car didn't realize that there was five joints under the floor mat because when we got the car back a week later the joints were still there.
It’s impossible to measure the huge impact and influence this man had on all of the comedy we enjoy today.
😂
He's the goat
I love the Cheeta story
Today as in yesterday.. hurry up and watch this before it gets removed by the woke.
No one can come close to this man’s genius and influence on all the comedians of today. He is the GOAT! Period, full stop. I love Chappell but Pryor is the GOAT!

Absolutely no comedian has come close
All current comedians owe a debt to Richard Pryor. He didn't tell jokes to his audience, he TALKED to them. He COMMUNICATED.
GOAT
Billy Connelly was the same. Although Billy never swore.
The faces he made. A true master! Robin, Richard, and George C my favs of all.
Same as Carlin and Hicks: these were story tellers.

One of the best.
This is the best comedy performance EVER!!!
He also said that he Never saw a N-word and never heard people say that to each other. I wish that was true here.
I know right. We embrace being black and ignorant.
He never saw an N-word? What?
Richard was the original comic❤
7:22 "that mf had O-dear" lmaoo Pryor is the goat. The best.

hard luck :)
A legacy to be proud of. Richard Pryor wrote much of lines in Blazing Saddles for Mel Brooks so nobody can say it’s a racist movie
Brilliant, brilliant 👍❤
The BEST‼️‼️
The bit with the bears 😂😂😂😂
Legend of our time soo hilarious 🤣 love 💙 him Rip funny man 🙏🥰💔💋🥀

Jamie Foxx used nearly all of Richard Pryor’s material from this show in a special he did. Both were hilarious.

WAS (RIP) Richard Pryor died in 2005. Was an amazing comic, storyteller, writer. World lost someone, irreplacable, inimitable.
The true king,the goat.
Thanks for making me laugh my ass off 😅😂
RIP richard Pryor
Hysterical 😂😂😂
True Comedy started with him and just got bigger & bigger as time went on
not odor -o -der 😂😂
the G.O.A.T
There's only one king of comedy and Richard is it he's so funny he can make God and Satan laugh 😂😂
Jamie Foxx stole that African/Cologne/Stink joke from Pryor
He was not on Blazing Saddles. Cleavon Little was. They wanted Richard ,but he was not available at the time.
No Steve, they kept him on as a writer and due to drug use, he was turned down , wasn't about availability
Funny then, funny now. He nailed something down that’s been imitated ever since
Algorithm is on point! 8/24/24!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The master!
