Vlad is one of the best instructors I've ever had the chance to take a seminar with and for some reason he still flies under the radar when he does tours. If you get the chance to take one, no matter your martial art, do it.
That was extremely informative, yet quick and to the point. Vlad seems like one hell of an instructor. Would love to see more of him. Looked like a lot of fun! Loved the quick humor thrown in there as well. Great video. Thank you
Had the opportunity to take a seminar and Vlad really is the fucking coolest dude. Stone cold killer with no pretenses, my favorite kind of fighter. Plus a fellow metal guy, haha.

one of the most underrated techniques in mma. everyone is shooting singles and doubles. problem is a) everyone knows how to defend them b) typically a lot of energy is spent in the process. those foot sweeps, when used properly are pretty much effortless AND when done right you always land in a dominant position. Another advantage is that most people don't see them coming. Also works no-gi with over / under hooks and neck grips.
He is such a great instructor. Love how he used judo terminology. Is that the usual thing to do in sambo? He demonstrated what we call Okuri Ashi Barai, not Deashi Barai. Last one is definitely a Kosoto Gari instead of Kosoto Gake.
No to sh..t on sambo, but the techniques there are 80% or more are from judo. Of course there are variations due to different rules etc. but the techniques are the same.
Hahaha, judo is chinese fake. You are like Chineese. "It is japanese, we are created it 5000 years ago, we have a secret manuscripts and it is name uchi kuchi lala bimba")))

Очень круто, что дядя Влад делится премудростями бросков. А подводящее упражнение в виде прыжков на месте вообще замечательная штука. Мало кто из тренеров его использует.
Wow this guy is very knowledgable. Longtime Judo practitioner who does a lot competion here and I did learn new details. The last one was interesting and the citation with timming was gold
Of course the guy named Vlad is a BEAST! It's so cool seeing Sambo on the channel, it's a martial art I've always wanted to learn more and hopefully incorporate in my mma
Those sweep drills are awesome and he did jeff dirty he made him look like a ragdoll and so light lmao. Anyways good video as always man hoping to see more of these judo sambo techniques.

6:02 that was an amazing bit about how to apply downward pressure as he angles to prevent opponent from lifting the closest foot. Makes so much sense now.
Absolutely the most brilliant, technically sound, fundamentals tutorial-- EVER!!!!!!! SWEEP, VS TAI KICK Exchange ( inter action/ play), position, alignment, adjustment= variable(s) attack
I love Vlad's instructionals. He is so effortless. When he does throws it looks as if his training partners - even heavy guys - are weightless dolls of feather. Thanks for bringing him on, Jeff.
His teaching ability is extremely high level. I wish I wasn’t all jacked up and could learn this stuff. If I could go back to early life, pre-injuries, I think I’d make combat Sambo my preferred art. They cover all aspects and it’s pretty dope.
Really amazing and great demonstration. I took so much away from it. Thank you for teaching me. And for everyone who put the effort to make this video possible.
shotokan has beautiful no hands sweeps. have spent hours training them. they can be countered easily if telegraphed which is why timing, like he said, is everything. the key is to make first contact on their ascension, also like he said.
Great video, I knew this anyway but UA-cam recommended it either ways. But why do I get a feeling the guy in the red really loves getting swept, hats off to him for not caring the slightest. I hated getting swept, it takes a huge part of your confidence out of you instantly.
This is an awesome video; I love the instructor. The sweeps look just like my grappling from Savate. We call the drill the flamenco dance. Thanks for posting.
Explanations for why martial arts are performed as they are performed is interesting because we have to be impressed by how much thought they put into their moves.
excellent demonstration of kosoto gake and it's mechanic. Most other people would simply just wrap their leg around the other person and describe that as the hook
Awesome stuff! Need to practice them!. I’m going to ballroom dancing lesson tonight learning the Waltz. I wonder I’m my partner will mind if i try the first one.
Makes me want to try real sambo. I don't know much about it, but it seems good to learn for anyone that is genuinely interested in martial arts. I need to start trying new things haha
Damn, this guy really gives off vibes of a silly uncle who goofs around at parties to make the kids laugh, but he's secretly a living human weapon

Machida had some very nice karate sweeps in the ufc.
How Islam lands in dominate grappling positions off of sweeps and trips is amazing.
It is not very high percentage in MMA. Singles and doubles are better because you can always force them into your opponent.
The footsweep waltz dance 😂😂 this guy is hilarious, jokes hit as unexpected as the sweeps
Hahahahaha
You know the "I wonder what he's thinking about" meme. He's doing ball room with his wife. "I wonder what he's thinking about?"
I can’t thank you enough for posting this. I’ve watched Vlad’s videos over and over trying to figure out these smooth footsweeps. Thank you!

No sir. We use our own terminology in Sambo. I use Japanese names because more people are familiar with that and also Russian names are mouthful.
