People are calling the entreprenuer greedy? You get only one chance to have an opportunity like this in your life, it's only fair to listen to every shark. Moreover, regardless of what Robert offers, he almost always does not allow entrepreneurs to listen to other offers because his ego hurts.
Someone offers you EXACTLY what you want and you’re still turning heads? Imagine offering someone everything they want and they still ask others for it. You’re telling me you wouldn’t feel a way about that? Goes to show how she’s going to be as a buisness partner she clearly doesn’t value Robert
In this case she was greedy. What can be better than what she exactly asked for? Realistically how can Kevin top that? Royalty? More money? Robert gave her exactly what she wanted.
"She wasn't asking others for it". She was expecting even a lower percentage. That has happened multiple times in shark tank. It's also possible that she didn't want Robert which is understandable because he has highest percentage of not going through with the deals out of all the sharks.

I don't think she made a mistake. With Robert putting a gun to her head like this at this stage, you never know how he would behave once he gets into business with her. Secondly, if I'm not mistaken, Robert has a bad closing rate post-show negotiations. Therefore I'd definitely have reservations dealing with Robert. Finally, if Robert offered what she asked for and Kevin only wanted 10%, this means that the business has great potential. Therefore, she is destined to succeed irrespective of getting of deal in the tank
@Farooq Yousaf: Man stop. Mark Cuban does that ALL THE TIME. He literally forces entrepreneurs to accept his deal or not. And a lot of the time the entrepreneurs do it. Well her conosny was eorth 35 mil and she valued it at just 5 ti get a shark I wouldn't say thats greed It want to analyze my option if I give away simething like that aswell
I hate when they do that and get so arrogant. Robert is right, he offered what she asked for, but there is a chance another Shark could ask for less equity, or offer more money for equity, or even join Robert for a better deal with two Sharks. Kevin also has the wedding platform and he could have brought a good deal for her. Robert has a bad record closing deals. It is really easy to say "she should have said yes!" sitting on a couch and not being in the tank.
What’s up with this title? Cut her some slack, it makes all the sense in the world to hear everyone out… the fact that she’s giving equity out of her own stake at a discount and they don’t appreciate that, it seems like Robert is the shortsighted one. Still, it’s clear she knows how to raise money.. maybe she’s better off without these two big walking egos. Well done Ghia and Melanie for such an impressive track record
I do think it's unfair for a shark to back out just because someone wants to hear the rest of the deals but then again, she did get the offer to came for so.... yah. Bummer.

She's right on that. Robert was being an asshat, which isn't typical of him. The norm is that you hear out the offers and then negotiate or make a decision. This one played out differently.
She should have atleast tried to counter Kevin.... She asked for 5, he wanted 10... just ask him to meet in the middle which is what she was probably expecting to give up and all she really wanted to give up... She just heard his answer and was like "nope, see ya!"
I’m in sales professionally. While what Robert did seems aggressive on the surface, I understand where it comes from. Businesses come in to sell to the sharks, but the sharks are also there to sell themselves. The sharks value their time and expertise, and if they offer the business exactly what they want and they don’t take it, it comes across as they don’t value that shark. Sharks are just individuals, they don’t like competition and will do whatever they need to close, especially if they see a good business. Shark tank is an atypical B2B meeting format though because there’s more than 2 parties involved. That’s very uncommon in the real world.

Kevin's excuse for cutting her valuation in half is that he has to get up in the morning, as if the world starts its day in the afternoon LMAO!!
honestly this woman was being too greedy without sense. she got exactly what shes asked for, and yet still decided to not go for it. you made your bed, lie in it. you deserve to get no offers.
@@vishwasjain5125 you expect Kevin to ask for something lower than 5%? The only way he'll do that is if he adds a royalty. As for the "Robert is the worst shark" narrative, that's not true as well. Kevin has a worse track record than him.
Uh, no. She got offered exactly what she wanted. Take the deal.
@ABC Please show the whole episode, I hate looking up the same episode that someone else has posted just to see the whole pitch made but will do so if you keep doing these.

Most of the time people come in for a specific investor, its not always about the money
The wheel of greed started turning for her. 🤦 So what did she expect was a better deal than what she exactly asked for? A royalty deal or something? You can't even say "Kevin is in this space" because Robert has a wine business as well. She heard the offer, then she heard that someone else was interested so she started overvaluing her business.
If you come in the tank asking for 250 for 5, when someone offers you 250 for 5 take it!
Thank you for explaining this.
Actually, at first I thought what's wrong in hearing someone else's opinion?
But you are right. It was greed and overvaluing of her company.

If you watch the full pitch you'll know this company has already raised millions on a 35 million dollar valuation. She was giving away a part of her own shares to the sharks on a 5 million dollar valuation, just to get one of them on board. So I don't think this has anything to do with greed at all. I think she just didn't want to work with Robert, which to me is completely understandable given his attitude in the tank and his bad track record with closing deals

Kevin is the only guy who lets everybody talk to every Shark. He is way better man than all others here.
no hes done the same
Because he gives the worst deals. That's why.
LoL in this case you sure missed a lot of the show
yes, interrupting every other shark bc you think you’re more important definitely shows he is the better man.
But it was a pointless offer if Robert already said %5 lol what was he going to say "Hold on! I'll do it for 10%" uh no? Lol
All the other 3 sharks were already out. Her only options left were Robert and Kevin. Robert offers her the exact deal that she came in asking for and she thought that Kevin would make her a better offer?? Talk about fumbling the bag 💰. That’s exactly what she did. And her comments at the end just further shows her delusion. Not the first time this has happened though.
Or the same offer. She knows Kevin's history and would have wanted him.
None of Robert's deals ever close. He always pulls out after they make a deal on the show. She did the right thing.
It's easy to judge when you get to look at it with the benefit of hindsight, but yeah, she should've accepted given Robert gave her exactly what she asked for. There was no way Kevin was gonna undercut that.

Absolutely not..he makes them pay.
It could have been the same offer, and I do not doubt Melanie would have rather partnered with Kevin with this kind of a product.
Seriously? The only thing you said that made sense was that Robert had a lower close rate after due diligence the rest literally made no sense.
@Farooq Yousaf: Man stop. Mark Cuban does that ALL THE TIME. He literally forces entrepreneurs to accept his deal or not. And a lot of the time the entrepreneurs do it. Robert offered her exactly what she asked for which is kind of rare on Shark Tank. She didn’t accept the exact offer that she asked for. That’s her fault
Lmao kevin valued her company in half
That dipping head and cute eye smile backfired ... ...she blew it through pure greeeeed...😂

“ I hope he lets other people speak in the future” … & I hope she takes the deal she comes in asking for next time.🤡

Every contestant should watch at least 100 (minimum) episodes of Shark Tank that way you'll know when and how to close a deal 😊 last but not least never let a bird lose when he's in your ✋ Hand !
Thank God shark tank organisers removed the annoying crowds from the show
Kevin is the true definition of a shark in that show
She came in and got exactly what she wanted but still wanted a better deal, I understand everyone being angry with Robert for being impatient but her greed got in the way. Very rarely does a Shark ever make an offer better than what is asked.
Well her conosny was eorth 35 mil and she valued it at just 5 ti get a shark
I wouldn't say thats greed
It want to analyze my option if I give away simething like that aswell
Or an equal deal.
What's with these half missing episodes!!
Never trust Kevin!😭😭😭
Robert did the right thing
I do think it's unfair for a shark to back out just because someone wants to hear the rest of the deals but then again, she did get the offer to came for so.... yah. Bummer.
She was offered exactly what she asked for. That rarely happens, and then "feelings" and perhaps greed took over. Typical women who can't decide what they want.

How are you negotiating when someone offers exactly what you ask for? I think some of these entrepreneurs forget that they are the ones asking for money. They aren't owed an offer. Melanie fumbled the bag. I'm glad Robert showed her the door.

Sometimes is also about the investor. Maybe she had someone else in mind and it got her distracted from the fact she was offered exactly what she asked for. Hard to tell.
You must be new to the show. Happens all the time.
You may get a better offer than what you ask for.
Melanie made her own decision, it's her business.
i think they should make a rule where everyone is allowed to state their deal before the entrepreneur accepts or declines. This whole you have to take my deal now dont listen to any other offers bs really sucks. If your offer is the best than you wont be deterred by hearing out the other sharks offer. Then again the super rich thrive on anti competitive playing fields.
that’s part of the negotiating, you should already know the people your talking to beforehand, and when kevin is talking about how he brings more value he’s obviously gonna make a worse offer🙄
Robert is NOT wrong...he gave her what she asked for.
I get and understand business but what a mean move he should have let her hear the others bc he knew they wasn't going to do it for 5%
Why not take Robert's deal? Then to get steam rolled by Kevin.
He really did cost her her deal with Robert lol

There is no point in listening to other if one person understand our business, belive in us , ready to give what we want .And after that she said robert must be regretting, no, she is really greedy , she must have thought that if she got first offer whatever she asked for , she might also get better than this , which shows greed of person.
By watching the show, I've seen Sharks offering the same deal and then getting together (2 sharks for a bit more equity). Kevin also has the wedding platform and he could have brought a good deal for her.

She missed the point. She made it about how Robert messed up. Not how she messed up. "I don't know if Robert will regret it, but I hope he lets others speak in the future". Rather than "I will not let anyone else speak in the future because it was my fault when I didn't act and jump on it when I should have". People these days blame others rather than themselves. It's one thing if he didn't give her what she asked for. Then that's fine, like. I get her wanting to hear other sharks out. But come on her gave her EXACTLY what she asked for . Exactly. If Robert asked for more equity, then yea maybe she'd want to listen to see if the second offer was lower. But dude Rob gave exactly what she asked for and girl youre not in the position to risk it being she dont even own 100% of her company dam. So. Yea . And at the end she thinks robert will regret? I’m in sales professionally. While what Robert did seems aggressive on the surface, I understand where it comes from.
Businesses come in to sell to the sharks, but the sharks are also there to sell themselves. The sharks value their time and expertise, and if they offer the business exactly what they want and they don’t take it, it comes across as they don’t value that shark. Sharks are just individuals, they don’t like competition and will do whatever they need to close, especially if they see a good business.
Shark tank is an atypical B2B meeting format though because there’s more than 2 parties involved. That’s very uncommon in the real world.
Not true.
We've seen all kinds of deals with 2 or more sharks, so they do team up plenty.
What’s this “FAIR” foolishness that came out her mouth it’s an “EAT OR BE EATEN” World we live in that’s definitely the wrong time to be all sweet and nice.
Why didn’t she counter?
