That was a great call. It's sad to hear her cry saying she thought she'll never make any money in a creative field due to well-intentioned but misguided advice from her father decades ago.
Sounds like she should go into interior or graphic design. Or start a digital creative agency. She's in a great spot to do what she wants to now.
I'm speechless (moment of silence for my creatives)....this caller just detailed my life. It was so similar!!! Omg!! I have a calling to be an artist-entrepreneur and I'm finally taking babysteps to get there, but what a struggle! I can relate!!
This made me cry as well. Just like Shannon, my parents knew I was creative and artistic but didn't believe I could make a career out of it. So out of fear I stuck to a 9-5 desk job and I hate it everyday. Thank you so much for this video made me re-think my direction in life.
Story of my life. I'm crying too. How did it go with you? Would love to hear
As a 3D artist with a full time job doing art listening to and loving this show, you can totally make a decent living in this field. Graphics Artists are needed for every avenue of marketing and the like, definitely research because the limits are endless.
Wow I just found my "why" to get out of debt
And I feel confident to began the research stage on my dream
Wow this guy is living his dream
This was beautiful
Beautiful words!!! Go Shannon!!!!
Omg, I'm just like her. 💖 I remember creating a magazine cover on Adobe Illustrator in HS, and everyone loved it. I don't know why I didn't pursue design in college, I think because I wanted to make more money than what the salary projected. But now I'm 34, depressed, and lost.
Wow, good for her for sticking to her job and getting debt-free. She deserves to do something she loves!
I got emotional hearing this. She just told my story (minus the debt-free part)...I've always loved music but was always told I couldn't do it for a living...
Sounds to me like she’s looking for a career in graphic design....
Boy this is kinda making me cry too. Do what you love!
It is now October 2020 and I hope Shannon is doing well in her artistic endeavors. I am hearing this for the first time.
That’s what ppl that are not artist say, and if every artist listens to that nonsense we would have no art, same thing with musicians we would have no music. Artistry is a gift, if you don’t have you don’t understand✊🏾
Ken you have gained my respect ✊🏾 this was fabulous work!
Best video ever!!! 💕
Should i force myself to have more devotion
Would love an update
