Hi!
Welcome to part 6 of my first playthrough of Dragon Age: Origin's -
On today's episode after coming face to face with a Sloth demon we are thrown into the fade, only to discover that we are alone and must find a way back to our companions along with freeing ourselves from the clutches of the demon.
I hope everyone enjoys it ♥

So, Morrigan's scene in the fade is hilarious because she is the only one who is like "who tf is this demon trying to fool"
Sten and your dog are also "aware"
@DivaQuinzel Wow, I have never brought the dog into the fade lol. I didn't count Sten because he wanted to chill
Purchase additional backpacks until you reach the maximum of 125 items. Sell your stuff to Bodahn, he keeps what is purchased, acts as a storage chest for you.
The Desire Demon gave you a chance to discuss other options, she was your only chance to learn Blood Magic specialization. I always kill her instead.
You are doing really well, both in combat and the maze. You can learn the fire ball spell though, it's after flaming weapons, its one I rather enjoy too.
If you really want to unlock Blood Magic as a specialisation, you can load a save before talking to Connor's demon, make the deal, then reload to the save after killing her. This glitch is the only way to unlock it without selling Connor's soul.
Did this trick for the reaver specialization bc no way I was losing you know who
Not a glitch. Working as intended. Once you unlock it in one playthrough it's unlocked for all.
Just so you know. Liliana prefers a bow but she can also be a Duel Wielder, which means she uses 2 daggers or a sword and a dagger. Also Sten doesn’t have any skills with a shield. He uses a 2 handed weapon.
And you are actually doing great!
The moment you discovered that rogues can lock pick chest was pure joy.
When all your menus and HUD disappeared, I think you might have accidentally pressed V. It hides the HUD; I use it for screenshots. Also, remember to talk to your companions, like, a lot - not just in camp! There's a lot of character development to be had.
Loving this chapter, the Mage Tower / Fade is one of my favourite sections of the game!
Quick tip for healing your companions when you're in combat. Instead of having to look around the battlefield and clicking on them directly, you can simply click on their icon in the top right of the screen.
Funniest thing is to intimidate the demon onto giving conner up and getting a free boon like your just that strong
You mentioned that you wanted to be a blood mage, the only way to unlock the blood mage specialization is making a deal with the Redcliffe demon, letting the demon have Connor's body.
Too late of course, but had you used the scroll when the circles appeared around a mage, it would have prevented their turning. Hence no added abominations.
I forgot about the scroll on my first play through too. On all subsequent games I've deliberately ignored it. After the fade mission I just want to kill everything!
You were fantastic this playthrough. Great job
Any follower can use quest items like the litany which is useful if your mc gets stunned.
Also the combat music kept going there because the fight doesn't end as long as any of your followers are knocked out. They only revive when the main character is standing near.
Genuinely well done getting through the Fade as quickly as you did - I got so lost my first time 😭🤣 and as I'm sure you've been made aware, there is a glitch of sorts to get the Blood Magic specialisation but only by originally taking the deal with Connor's demon - good luck if you decide to go back to get it!:) I'm looking forward to your next episode!
Your reaction at 2:21:45 really made me laugh. Re: The Redcliffe archers firing flaming arrows at one body per boat, it's a reflection of real world Norse funeral traditions where a corpse is laid in a canoe, set out to sea, and burned to bits. It may seem wasteful, but Redcliffe is surrounded by forests and near the tavern is an area where boats are being built. They're just honoring their dead
It wasn't a waste of time getting mages if you didn't wish to sacrifice Isolde from blood magic.
To spare Connor means either do it Jowan's way with blood magic where he has to sacrifice Isolde.
Or to get the circle mages which uses lyrium and nobody is sacrificed. That's what you chose.
You would have to do the cirlce even if you chose not to spare anyone as it's part of the main story and you either get mages or templars to help in the blight.
I remember you saying you wanted to be a blood mage. The way to get it is to converse with the demon. The demon will teach you blood magic specialisation. Once you unlock it, it will be permanently unlocked for all playthroughs. Of course that comes at a price as the demon is making a deal where she will temporarily leave Connor's body and return later.
You can only unlock blood magic by playing as a mage and going into the fade yourself. Wynne and Morrigan can go into the fade but they will never converse with the demon. That's why it's the main character who can only do it. Blood magic has a price, those who seek it will gain new powers but make sure to watch your health as blood magic requires blood, you can also drain blood from your allies to heal yourself.
The desire demon also has other offers. One is a romance option.
You can have up to 2 specialisations per character. Usually at level 7 and level 14 is when they unlock but in Dragon Age: Origins, you have to unlock the specialisations first.
Dragon Age II has them already unlocked. Blood mage is back in Dragon Age II if you wish to be one in that game.
Girl… the Litanny wasn’t to be used once at the start of combat and that’s it. Listen. 😫 Wynne tells you to use it DURING.
Although you're only doing this run it would be super fun if you did the other origin stories you'd learn a lot more about the world plus have a deeper appreciation of the character (Howes basically nobody unless you've done human noble)
(not 5 other runs btw just the origins)
While they're called nightmares they're just any scenario that the demons thinks will keep your companion 'stuck' in that place.
The fade was and still is my least favorite mission, cause no way to get out of there till mission accomplished!🤣 I am glad you did it earlier! I did this way later! The only fun was shape shifting for me and The Clive barker's Jericho vibe with the burning man and the dead!
Just bought this game for £2 on steam. Not a bad deal 😊. Great vid as usual.
U can get rid of the junk as i remember so u can add new things
U missed ur chance with blood magic 😭😭😭 Connor’s demon could’ve given u that power.
Probably it was not so fun to get back to the Fade again for so long ((( But that is only because you are a mage and started there. Would only be once for other characters.
I'm watching this episode anyway.
If you didn't want to be free of the tower before, after completing this mission you'll never want to go back there ever again.
It was many hours ago, but you needed to get the mages to have enough lyrium to go into the fade otherwise Jowan would have to do blood magic and kill Connor's mother for you to be able to enter the fade, and even with the blood magic option it's only one mage that can go into the fade.
By the way, you will be able to carry the results of the decisions made to Dragon age 2 and Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Btw, I highly highly recommend when the time comes, give Alistair a harsh reality check during his companion quest - I can’t emphasize enough how important it is but I don’t wanna give away why (also try to have high affinity)
the way making the wrong choice there ruined my day, I restarted my entire game 😭
This is a spoiler, she wants to play through blind
@@Sticksalad fair, looking back it’s not a hint but backseat gaming/spoiling lmao
@@trackblaster4627 yeah. She’s kindly requested no spoilers, you should really just delete your comment
Don't really recommend Blood Magic in DA:O, as MOST of the abilities you can get pretty much do nothing but a DoT on your own health for mana, OR a DoT on a companion.
Plus, you only get like 4 abilities, which is kind of a rip off.
Without spoiling, Blood Magic in DA 2 is explored more than DA:O.
It has been stated repeatedly on multiple boards/posts, that THIS mission is the most HATED IN ALL DA. And yeah, I can see why. Especially after having to play it 3-5 times JUST to get the right outcomes or see differences with companions.
It's actually my favorite quest.
No hate but the way you give your squad there weapons🤦♂️🤦♂️u took alisters shield and now made him weak and then you only give Liliana one small sword 🤦♂️🤦♂️
The game is very hard without full tutorial, like it doesn't really explain anything, you learn as you go- and this is her first time. Let her get the hang of it (she's doing awesomely)
