to this day when i need to keep at it at work i do the the whole "hold the line" including the hand chop motion ... and il imagine kirrahe's dissapointment if i gave up xD

I love how most of ME1 is standard Space Opera, but that Sovereign revelation places the trilogy solidly in Cosmic Horror
“Kaidan for the laughs?” 😂 I was certain Loverboy was about to suffer a “convenient accident” 😅
I love how Sarah is having a blast with the whole Kaidan romance while Eric is just going through it 😂😂
I haven't understood the gaming dynamic between them. Do they take turns?
@@dyegorodriguez2126 They switch sometimes between games: only one of them plays through a game and the other one is there to talk about it. RDR1 was played by Sarah and Eric was there as the wingman, I think ME will be played by Eric and Sarah is just along for the ride
@@Ghaladd alright, I get it. It would be cool if they took turns, though. But I gather that might be a mess in the end.

@@dyegorodriguez2126 true, like forgetting past decisions or things like that. I do enjoy Sarah just vibing here to Eric’s mishaps every now and then.
47:51 Great job with Wrex! Doing his side quest makes convincing him a whole lot easier in this scene. If you hadn't done the side quest, you'd need a charm/intimidate score of 8 points (which you have as well), so the fact that both were achieved, I was never worried because I knew you'd easily resolve it.
Just so you know, Wrex *CAN* die here, and it's a *VERY* big thing, so I'm immensely glad you managed to save him (was never in doubt tbh)
I love how the game seems slow until Virmire and suddenly.... BANG, the game literally explode and become faster and faster! Sovereign revelation, imho, is one of the best moment in the videogames history

An interesting thing about the Wrex confrontation is that if you play through Virmire without recruiting Garrus and before you find Liara, Wrex will stand down regardless of what you say or your charm/intimidate level. I guess the developers didn’t want players potentially having to go through the rest of the game with only two squad mates
For me, Virmire is THE defining mission of Mass Effect. Beautiful scenery, big decisions that have real repercussions, and major plot developments. It really establishes the template for what's to come in ME2 and ME3. Expect a lot more missions like this going forward!
As an aside, depending on your Paragon/Renegade score, your dialogue choices, and whether or not you did his personal mission, the outcomes of your confrontation with Wrex are:
- Wrex stands down
- Shepard shoots Wrex
- Shepard signals Ashley to shoot Wrex
- Ashley shoots Wrex (on her own initiative)
Oh, and congrats on saving Captain Kirrahe. He could have died too!

This was the best episode so far! Can't wait for the finale!
FANTASTIC episode! The Reaper reveal is great, they hint at it throughout the game, but it's a good build up to the reveal, some things start to make a lot more sense.
Lover boy Kaidan lives lmao. Also, yea, Kaidan and Ashley are both my least favourite members as well, it ultimately comes down to who you like less, and if you romance one of them, it makes the choice easier (unless you accidentally romance one of them and wanna get rid of them lmao, in which case, it's an easier choice too).
Ashley does have more growth imo tho. Had you saved her, you would've potentially been able to see a nice scene with her at the Citadel after Virmire, showcasing some of that growth.
That scene with Kaidan at the end was hilarious. Having said that, other romance options are way better in the future games, looking forward to you exploring them.
Good job with Kirrahe, him and his crew can die if you don't destroy the Geth. Ashley was assigned to the Aeghor team, which is why they made it and Ashley didn't, I think.
Virmire onwards is a treat as far as the story is concerned, and the next part is my favourite part of the game, I can't wait for the finale!
So there is a pretty significant difficulty jump in ME2. Keep that in mind if you decide to play on a harder difficulty level.
Yeah, Saren is still a bastard. He’s not as bad as you think at first but he’s still bad.
I second this. ME2 's normal difficulty is much higher than ME1. It's pretty easy to die in 2

Doing Wrex’s mission did help. When I first played I didn’t do his mission and had to do one of those choices where you needed a certain amount of Renegade or Paragon you didn’t need to do that. Luckily I had enough Paragon to convince him.
Edit: Didn’t actually think you two would actually romance Kaiden😂 I must’ve missed an episode where y’all locked it in.
Man, that Virmie mission is the perfect time for you to get rid of Kaidan. YOU BLEW IT!😂

I first played this game in ~2009. To this day, meeting Sovereign is perhaps my favorite moment in gaming.
In my first play through Wrex died. Congrats on keeping him alive. It’s always important to have Charm maxed out or close to it. When I first played the game, I didn’t know how important it was to decisions, but it made me wanna play the game over again.
Yes, if you fail to convince Wrex, Ashley will kill him to save you.
Also, completing his side mission definitely makes it much easier to convince him.
We're glad we did that mission then 😅
Or if you’re a monster, you can take the initiative and shoot Wrex yourself
04:46 Yeah, I agree, the stats don't matter too much at Normal difficulty, and you guys have been wearing the higher (or the highest) level armours anyway, so you're good, and you've not been struggling with the combat whatsoever, so keep playing how you want to. The squad has been looking sick, and we love to see it

I was literally chanting out loud too! I hope no one heard me…. Anyways, I hold the whole M.E. series in high regard due to the choices that must be made. Sometimes it feels like the choice is clear cut, good or bad. Then there are times like these that just leave you wondering. “Was there a good option? Could both characters be saved somehow? Did I say something wrong? How will this impact the story from here on out?”
One of the reasons I enjoy your play through is to see which of your choices differ from mine. I like to learn what excites different gamers and how their play style compares and contrasts to mine. I’m here for the long run and I honestly expected about 50 hours (25 episodes) just based on my vague memory of staying up late, nodding off while driving around some random planet looking for as many secrets as I could find. I am eagerly awaiting the Finale of M.E. 1 and will stay tuned for the announcement of the M.E. 2 play through!
I dont remember if you asked Wrex about his Mercenary work or not. If not then you should. It's a good story.

ngl when you first got 'tricked' into romancing kaidan i immediately thought "well now i know who's NOT making it out of virmire" so i was legit surprised with your choice here!! just so you know in me2 there are more & better options for romance and you don't have to stay loyal to lover boy lol
Aaand here is the Virmire choice. Always a fun time lol. I love this mission so much for so many reasons. As for the choice, I think that kinda makes sense - they were there from the very beginning, they're your fellow humans and Shepard as a Commander definitely has a lot of weight on the choice on who will make it out - and who won't. This is also cuz they're both romanceable, I imagine!
I think both Ashley and Kaidan get more interesting with time :) Ashley has so much room to grow, while Kaidan is finding himself. They may not be a favourite, but I think they're neat :D
It is possible you end up killing Wrex.... or Ashley does it for you.
Omg a Perfect chance to get rid of Kaidan loverboy and get another romantic partner.....😊 I've been enjoying these episodes, I started playing this a couple of years ago but didn't get far, so might get back into it ..
