AWW MATTY, THANK YOU SO SO MUCH! You genuinely don't know how much it means that I've inspired you! You inspired me to start creating videos, so thank you!
I played Dragon Age II for the first time in December (fantasy wasn’t interesting to me in my 20s) and I spent the whole time saying “why did people hate this game?” to myself.
Did you play the first one? The second one is such a massive disappointment comparatively, since they were forced to develop the second game in like 12 months I think
Origins meat riders, simple reality every dragon age game has been good. Origins, dragon age 2,and Inquisition had positive and negative things in their games. They were all fun.
@@SkdjefkrkfnfneI played Origins! I think it’s obviously one of the best RPGs ever. I don’t think Dragon Age II is quite as good, but I think it’s still a good game!
@@mikeymacaque I think DA II got a lot of hate because it felt more like a smaller spin-off than a proper sequel. Without the hype and heavy discounts of old games it is easy to like it, but back in the days in was a huge disapointment
One thing that got me hooked were the dragon age books. Reading about Maric and Logaihn and realizing Logaihn isn’t just a power hungry evil person. He thought the king was giving Ferelden back to Orlais. He didn’t believe in the blight threat and thought Orlais was more dangerous. The complexity of each character from the expanded dragon age lore. Like reading a book with Duncan as the main character. Amazing.
Occasionally I'll run into people saying "Loghain wasn't actually evil" or even "Loghain did nothing wrong!", and I'll wonder if they maybe have a point. Then I'll remember that he used a disease outbreak as cover to kidnap elves and sell them into slavery, and I decide that actually no, fuck Loghain.

Man I totally forgot games used to come with instruction manuals! The gradual death of physical media is such a shame. I remember having a steel box edition of Halo 3, and it had an awesome guide to the Halo universe included. Was great.
Also, I honestly feel that origins just overshadows the other two games in storytelling and character development. Between the excellent companions and overall plot the other games, just don’t come close. Plus there’s nothing like being an overpowered mage in origins lol.
I think I played Dragon age origins campaign 20+ times throughout middle school/high school/college where I finally could mod it. God that game will forever have a special place in my heart.
Matty, if you're going to play a full playthrough of DA:O, including Awakening... I implore you to play as a Dual Wield Warrior, with at least 36 points in Dex so you can DW full size weapons... There are a couple of extremely powerful longswords (Vigilance and Dumat's Spine) you can get your hands on in Awakening and I tend to average doing between 40-50% of all party damage across the playthrough, especially in the base game. I do enough DPS to draw the aggro and I'm tanky enough to handle it. My typical party is myself, Leliana, Morrigan and Alistair to be the tank protecting Morrigan and Leliana while I'm tearing through the enemy ranks in a frontal assault. In Awakening my party is usually Justice, Nathaniel (specced for archery) and Anders. Only Nathaniel comes close to rivalling me in damage. I didn't mention the various powerful longswords that can be obtained in the base game, as I know you're well aware of those, being a veteran.
I second this, but with rogue. Getting to the point as a rogue where I duel wield two full size enchanted longswords with multiple stances up was nuts. Easily one of the most fun builds I have ever been able to put together in an RPG to date.
Dragon age: Origins is still a classic for me. I like DA 2 more with time and dislike Inquisition more as time goes on. It just has too many flaws to me.
I agree about inquisition. It was my first and favorite in the franchise, but as time goes on, I cannot revisit it because it has no replay value to me. That first play through was amazing for me but it truly is a slog when trying to pick it up again.
@@Dameendmon I think at the time I was so hard on DA:2 and Bioware was just in a slump in general that I ignored its flaws. It’s hard to do the same with hindsight. Dragon Age 2, Mass Effect 3, Inquisition, Andromeda and Anthem. Not exactly a great track record since.
I think I'm sadly falling into that pit. I still enjoy Inquisition, and I'm going to replay it before Veilguard, but I dread some of the stuff in that game.
@@SteelSpurs I think that is one of the biggest problems is that it can be a slog. The good stuff is buried in meaningless side content. Get it down to a tight 30/40 hour experience.
I'm replaying Inquisition (I played 1&2 recently), and Solas said something that really encapsulates my love for the series. He mentioned how (while in the fade) things play out differently depending on who's experiencing it. Was Loghain a hero who did right by his men, or was he a sneering villain? Both are true, and the contrasts you can have in each playthrough are the main things I want to see with the new game.
Hot take, but DA2 is my favorite of the DA games. I love the combat, the small scale stories, the personal relations Hawk has with everyone. Hells, I was even happy it wasn't another story about the damn world nearly being destroyed again! While was just really refreshing for me and wasn't as stressful like DAO or as slow of a start as DAI.
This is my favorite game franchise and I love every entry, the rich roleplay in Origins, the incredible lift in art style and astonishing interpersonal relationship development and plot writing in DA2 and the grand scale of conflict and sense of power given in DAI and now what seems to be an amazing graphical, cinematographic, and gameplay experience (hopefully in plot as well, it seems that way thankfully) in DATV that offers what seem to be cool looking companions that are thankfully not just shoehorned old characters from previous games, but instead new people with their hopefully amazing unique stories to tell, and I hope to see comebacks from previous characters, but I am glad to see it will be as characters you meet and help/be helped by, also very happy for Harding for getting the spotlight she deserves. Harding is badass. Lastly, I will say, Inon Zur is the best composer, Trevor Morris did an excellent job, my preference is just the DAO and DA2 style in music.
Cant beleive matty hasn't played awakenings, honestly such an amazing dlc. Also massive shout out to shale, my personal fav companion, death to the pigeons!!
Gears of war 2 was my first experience in HD gaming. I was playing 360 with component for almost a year before I plugged in an HDMI Cable 😅. It was such a huge upgrade back to then
DA2's story covers like 15 years of history in the city of Kirkwall and really fleshes out so much of the world before Inquisition. It's 100% worth playing and introduces the best character in the whole series, Varic and the most important in DA lore, Anders & The Champion. Even just as a prologue to Inquisition, it's absolutely worth the time to play through.
Inquisition really is an amazing game. You can skip almost all the x number x quests or just do them while you run by. You really can complete most while simply just running by onto interesting stuff.
My understanding is that a remaster collection - ala ME: Legendary Edition - is very difficult due to the fact that different engines were used for each game (Eclipse, Lycium, and Frostbite respectively). By contrast, every game in the ME trilogy all used a version of Unreal, making the modernization process much more streamlined and efficient.
Whats really cool is enjoying these games back in the day without looking up what other people thought on the internet, and coming to similar conclusive opinions, so interesting.
Tbh my introduction to Dragon Age was actually Inquisition. I stumbled across it one day while looking for something new to play at Gamestop. I thought the cover looked pretty interesting and it was cheap as well. So I figured why not give it a try and I instantly fell in love with it. Sadly I still have yet to play Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age 2. I really want to play them but I just don't own a PS3 anymore. I have watched some gameplay videos and lore videos about them though. But with Dragon Age Veilguard coming out soon maybe they'll take advantage of the renewed hype for the series and make a legendary edition for them like they did with the Mass Effect trilogy. If they do decide to do that I will definitely be pre-ordering it.
Totally valid! The tone between games is so different, they all offer different things. I love the political drama of 2 so much/the characters and story.
I’m so glad that Dragon Age 2 is finally getting the flowers it deserves. It has it flaws but it’s so important to the overall story the games BioWare is making with the series. DA2 is not only sets up some very important events that play a role games after it came out but they were also able to make such a intimate story. I cried when DAO finished because I sad that the story was finish but I cried in DA2 because of the tragedy that you played with Hawke. Hawke loses so much along the way and gets keeps fighting. Also for me DA2 combat is so much fun, I loved DAO but DA2 was for me personally is so much fun as it fast paced but you still have to be smart about how you address situations. Like you said that in the video, the Dragon Age series would really do well with a Legendary treatment because while yes the games have individual stories they all correlate and make such a deep story. Streamlining the ability to play all the games would really be a game changer for both newer players and old time player.
I did. Did you? I didn't really feel any which way about it. That said, I think I will play it because I felt the same way about the new Saints Row and I finally played it and I thought it was really fun. Consider me entertained.
I actually thought it looked pretty fun. I don’t have time to play Baldurs gate type games anymore, I wish I did but action based Rpgs are just easier to jump in to.

Matty we are the same!!! Dragon Age Origins was my first exposure to the RPG type game genre and MAN I had no idea that characters could feel so real, that my choices felt like they mattered, and in a world that felt so cool and complex. I am very hopeful for Dragon Age Veilguard because even though 2 and Inquisition were quite different and had their own issues, I still really love the lore and world of Dragon Age. I'm excited to see where the story goes and if they can provide some interesting companions in the world I love so much.
I will accept that DA2 has a good story alongside fun stuff, but the reason it gets so much smack is because of all the small things that pile up. No game ever gets outside of the snowball effect and I don't think it has to be pushed aside. I do like it, I think fence sitting in gaming should be more acceptable because this is one of those games where both sides make a lot of sense and it's best to understand why both sides are so vocal. I'm glad they exist and I'm glad we experienced them, I hope one day we can all get a Dragon Age game in the next decade after Veilgaurd that sees great improvement and I'm interested in seeing how Veilgaurd goes.
I loved the more personally story of Hawke and their companions and even the side characters, it was so refreshing to have a story where you are just trying to survive and become something and make it rich to improve the lives of you your family and friends instead of the cliche that is oh you are the chosen one you are gonna save the world, it's such a old and boring plot those are.
That was the interesting thing about Hawke, is he/she was just a person. The warden was a warden, the inquisitor had a magic mark on their hand but hawke was just a person. That being said, I do think some of the critiques are very valid
Eh, I don't think the story was told very well. It hinges on the fact that you actually care about the Mage/Templar conflict, which I couldn't care less about. I DO care about saving the world with my friends.
@@SteelSpurs well it kinda shows that once you become an important individual in a society, that society will force you to take a stand on social issued wether you want to or not

@@aquapendulum that’s totally understandable but in retrospect. They had 6 years to develop origins versus 16 months at most for 2. They still managed to give us a 26/50ish (story/completed) hour game. I hate that EA rushed them because we don’t really know what we could have had but for the cards they were dealt I think they played them well and delivered an excellent game.
I have played through them all before but never one after another and never finished them until a couple of months ago now when I decided to replay them off of a friend’s recommendation.
I personally started with Inquisition for PS4, and I loved every moment of it. It holds a very special place in my heart... It definitely made me play Origins and 2 and I honestly still haven't completed either of those games TuT Edit: I majorly agree with you on how they should've made a legendary edition of Dragon Age instead of Mass Effect. Well bioware did the shitty decision to develop dai for the PS3 and not the PS4 so it was limited a lot. Still inquisition is probably the best looking PS3 game alongside gta5 even though the performance is trash
My first introduction to the franchise was Inquisition and I loved it. I didn’t quite understand the lore because it was the third installment of the franchise, but I loved it nonetheless. What I was interested in the most was the religion aspect of the game, I’m not religious myself, but it intrigued me. When I first played Orgins, it was amazing. The many decisions that can be made, the characters you can choose to be in your party. I personally like to have two melee and two range with one at least being a mage. Finishing Origins filled me with excitement because of the journey that came along with the beginning of it but also a bit of sadness because I won’t experience that for the first time again. Coming to DA2, I’m currently playing it, and I do love the story. I also like in the DA franchise that having certain characters for a specific dialogue run will change what occurs. I notice it more in DA2, not sure if it was in Origins. I do like DA2’s combat more than Origins, it’s more fluid and less clunky, but that’s to be expected with a newer game. I think what the franchise does which I love is that all of your choices can carryover to the next one. It creates a connection to the franchise because everyone has their own story, their own world, and I think that’s amazing.
I’ve only recently played these games around 2018-2021 I believe most likely around Covid I absolutely love BioWare and I can’t believe I never played these games as a kid wish I did but liek they said in step brother better yet I played them as an adult
Got the plat for origins a 2 years ago. It's a highly recommended for me. I think once you commit to this plat you cannot uncommit. Looking to Plat 2 and Inquisition too but origins was also my gate into rpgs. Great video bro
ive just now played da2 after loving origins and inquisition for a few years now. i love it just as much. my problem is that i always get too attached to the characters and then get sad when the story ends, or doesnt end like i wanted it to.
Love all three but for different reasons. I’m sure I’ll enjoy Veilguard too. If I could only take one it would be Origins but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed time time with them all.
I still remember the feeling i had when Leliana starts singin' In Uthenera after the Dalish questline. I was in awe. That's when Origins became my favorite rpg of all time. I miss old Bioware.
Observing the reactions of online communities to Dragon Age V reminds me of the reasons behind my decision to take a break from social media. While criticism of a game is acceptable, and choosing not to purchase it is a personal choice, I encountered individuals yesterday who expressed outrage over the mere use of the color purple in the game.
My husband is disgusted with Veilgard. For me, it seems just another aRPG with a flavour of Dragon Age vibe. So I'll probably skip it and wait for KCD and Larians game in a few years.
I played Origins a dozen times. I played 2 around 2 or 3 times. I played Inquisition once and without the dlc. I liked the game, but by the end, I just didn't have the urge to play it anymore. I think it was last year that I bought Inquisition again to give it another chance on my pc, but I haven't done it yet.
The Arishok in DA 2 gave me the quote "The madness of this...place" he says the word with such contempt you don't need more. But fenris says "friend of no one" I'm thinkin yea man, I kinda gathered that lol
Unlike many other people I LOVED Dragon Age 2. And I started with Origins, yes the reused dungeons was off putting but I loved most of the characters and the pure animosity and tension that was constant in the city. It was a coming from the slums into your own story. Inquisition… well… I still haven’t finished a quarter of it yet. The MMO aspect of it really puts me off. The mission of collecting blankets was the nail in the coffin for me
So the way i see the story is its currently a trilogy that started with DA2. The events of DA2 permeate into DAI and DAI leads into this game. DAO sets up almost like a prequel
Came to the USA in June 2009, was itching for a game console and didn’t have money. Got a factory job on July 13th saved enough to buy a 360 on November 4th first games I bought resident evil 5 and dragon age origins not knowing anything about it and what a surprise it was! I was so immersed in it, omg the memories . The world was shitty but less shitty than today I miss those days!
It's always refreshing seeing someone NOT hate on this franchise. I think a lot of people don't want to flat out say that certain people looking for any small reason to label games as "woke" or made for sjw's have really weighed Dragon Age down despite the fact that Bioware was "woke" long before DAI. Most forget that DAI released right after Gamer Gate blew up, and while it's not a perfect game, politics have really made it seem like it's a far worse game than it deserves to be labeled, especially because any perceived leftist rhetoric is avoidable. We don't all have to agree on these issues, but I wish the kneejerk reaction to cancel anything that doesn't fit our views would subside just a bit... on both extremes. I'm a leftist, but I still played Hogwarts Legacy, I wish there was more leniency on my "side", but also from the other direction. It also doesn't help that ragebait is far more profitable than just letting people enjoy games for what they are, or letting some of them exist as "meh" games without killing franchises or studios.
I just wish we could go back to games being made by nerds and dorks for nerds and dorks. Now its suits and committees making them or its a group of activists making something or ruining something to dunk on the other side of the aisle and its just so tiresome now. Beyond that though i miss my games releasing complete. So many busted or gutted day one releases now at higher the cost with less content entirely. Id be somewhat fine with the increased cost if we still got full size instruction booklets instead of a crappy sleeve for legal crap. We were told by goin digital we'd see the prices drop because less cost on production. That was such a damn lie.
2 and Inquisition used to feel so disappointing to me at the time they released since I loved Origins so much, but after ten years without a game I came to really appreciate them for what they were. I just love the world and the characters, the way time passes throughout the games, and how most players have different experiences throughout the trilogy. Its a special, flawed franchise that I'll love no matter what because without Origins I never would've gotten so heavily into the fantasy genre at all.
Dragon Age: Origins and its expansion Awakening were amazing, I would love to have a remake with updated graphics someday. It doesn't even bother me that your character is silent and it's definitely the dragon age game I've replayed the most and in my top 2. From the characters, to the scary enemies and levels (looking at you Fade - Lost in Dreams and Deeproads quests), soundtrack, companion banter, narrative quality and choices, and the ending credits song by 30 Seconds to Mars (lmao). There are very few times where I've cried after completing a game but it was such an emotional journey and story. Yes the combat left much to desired, but it was out weighed by everything else. It's been fifteen years and I'll still never forget, "Have you ever licked a lamp-post in winter?" 😂💀
My biggest issue with inquisition was it was blatantly obvious there was a lot cut from it, like the reason for collecting agents and I think we were meant to have seiges or something similar in each area in order to free it from the Venatori
@Sierraone1 Loghain has an in-depth backstory, understandable motivations, and a stronger connection to the plot that extends the entire game. I love the Arishok, but he's important for one Act of DA2 and is quickly disowned by the Qun for his actions.
@@frogerfanjump1884 Let's be real. The duel against Loghain is a joke, he needs his men to be somewhat threatening. The Arishock on the other hand makes you wonder why you thought it was a good idea to 1vs1 a literal boss.
@kenzovich9225 Loghain needed men like the Arishok needed his to take over Kirkwall. Without them, the attack wouldn't even had happened. Besides, there's more weight to defeating Loghain because of his presence in the story. The Arishok is here and gone in a single Act.
@@frogerfanjump1884 I like both, but idk why you try to take away from the Arishok. I don't see the point of comparing them to each other, beyond from a gameplay perspective. ESP with them having dropped fluid crossover from the first 2 to Inquisition so you have to pseudo build your precious story into the 3rd installment. The seamless story crossover from game to game was one of the peak features of DA/ME games
Is there a new stock video tool that adds the old TV and whatever you want on screen? Every other video I watch has the slow zoom on the generic 80's TV.
I totally agree with your ideas about a Dragon Age Legendary edition, but honestly if they just enhance the graphics of DAO and give it a few bug fixes and tweaks, i'd be satisfied.
Lets not forget Inquisition won game of the year in 2014. Even a controversial entry in the DA series is a highly reguarded video game. And this was before the era of "if it ships in bad shape it will eventually be better with updates". It still won game of year even though peple had their issues with the game. That says a lot about the general quality of Bioware RPGs.
So true- the game was really amazing to me when I first played it. I think people tend to lose focus on that fact when discussing this franchise. The tone difference between games I jarring for OG Origin players, but all three are great.
@alucard8433 Andromeda came out in 2017. They share the same console generation but that's about it. When inquisition came out most people were still playing on last gen hardware.
DA2 was my first western RPG, and it was in interesting experience. I unknowingly spend some money on good gear and I was locked out of finishing the first act lol.
My biggest issue with Da2 and DaI, is that you don't need to be there. In both of these games, the major plot twisting event that leads to the end, is taken from you and your group. That decision is made for you. Which tells me my story doesn't matter, only theirs does.

Origins is the worst looking game in the series. The fact that it came out after mass effect 1 but feels 10 years older is crazy
@shellephant552 idk about that. I remember when it came out everyone I know was amazed with the graphics. I remember a friend obsessing over the way characters' faces moved when they talked. The graphics are definitely outdated now but they were rather innovative at the time. Not sure how they compare to ME because I never played it.
@@mikeymacaque I’d argue 2 had a lot more memorable characters outside Morrigan from DAO.
Gonna play dragon age origins for the first time real soon, perfect timing
We need to get a remaster for origins
be careful what you wish for lmao. Do you really trust EA not to mess with it? hehe
@@jacjpogd5745 The ME remakes were good.
I need the grey wardens armor from 2 and 3 in origins

Back in my day qunari didn't have horns
They were supposed to, though.
Wait really??? I thought they always did
Your day dont even exist i dont think, in DAO theres mention of Qunari with horns
@@zyonhenderson67 They always had horns in the lore, but they couldn't put them on Sten because of engine limitations with helmets. Later they retconned that some Qunaris are born without horns and they are thought to be destined for greatness.

Man I totally forgot games used to come with instruction manuals! The gradual death of physical media is such a shame. I remember having a steel box edition of Halo 3, and it had an awesome guide to the Halo universe included. Was great.
Your love for KOTOR is the same exact way I feel about Origins and how I found your main channel. Certifiable banger.
Ima keep this comment screenshotted for when I play through origins again
We have the same parties. Now I'm curious about your DA2 and DAI's teams.
I second this, but with rogue. Getting to the point as a rogue where I duel wield two full size enchanted longswords with multiple stances up was nuts. Easily one of the most fun builds I have ever been able to put together in an RPG to date.
I remember playing Awakening and suddenly was like, “How is Nathaniel’s bow laying waste to everyone.”
Wish they remaster the old dragon ages or make them available for all platforms so we can go back and play them before veilguard comes out!
I remember the excitement I had playing Origins on my PS3. It felt like I was experiencing the video game version of Lord of the Rings.
Also, I honestly think Bioware’s truly last great game was Mass Effect 2. Every game since has ranged from good but flawed to terrible. Like think about it.
@@chuckles9767 I can’t agree on any of the Origins stuff. Origins is by far my favourite and I don’t get the walking sim complaint personally.
Does anyone else remember the dragon age mobile game? I wish they didn't take that off the app stores I would 100% play it every once in awhile
Im such a boring DA player, I always pick the male human with a great sword 🤷🏻♂️. I love dragon age so much 🔥
I mostly make an elf arcane Knight myself
Same bro lol
Elf mage
I'm such a basic DA bitch, I always pick the female mage elf 🙇🏽♀️... oops
Bro just dropped the hardest Dragon Age Intro and acted like it was nothing. Literal Chills
It was such a huge upgrade back to then
The future may be uncertain but Fereldan will live on in my heart forever
DA2's story covers like 15 years of history in the city of Kirkwall and really fleshes out so much of the world before Inquisition. It's 100% worth playing and introduces the best character in the whole series, Varic and the most important in DA lore, Anders & The Champion. Even just as a prologue to Inquisition, it's absolutely worth the time to play through.
Still get chills when the king yells For Ferelden and the music swells.
Thanks for this...makes sense.
I'm one of those weirdos who's favorite is 2 lol
Its a different flavor, all games are ice cream in different forms
I quite like 2, and inquisition the least
Totally valid! The tone between games is so different, they all offer different things. I love the political drama of 2 so much/the characters and story.
Dragon age inqustion was my favorite out of the franchise so far.
They killed our boy. They killed him. 😔
Did you watch the New Gameplay trailer?
I did.
@@jmccain22090Honestly true for me 😂. I got a job and a lot of house works. Even though i bought Baldurs gate 3 i barely play it as it just takes too much time with it's complex system.
I prefer less complex combat rn that doesn't take too much of my precious time. Maybe if i were unemployed I'd have more time to play. lol

Playing DA2 right now on my Steam Deck! So good Matty!
DA Origins was also my first HD experience!!! Even got a headache lol!!!
Maps were definitely very limiting. I hate the change for the dialogue wheel and the more action oriented combat. I like the plot and intrigue in DA2
Eh, I don't think the story was told very well. It hinges on the fact that you actually care about the Mage/Templar conflict, which I couldn't care less about. I DO care about saving the world with my friends.
@@SteelSpurs well it kinda shows that once you become an important individual in a society, that society will force you to take a stand on social issued wether you want to or not
@@RedHoodFH True, though even though I kind of liked that, it was almost too easy to pick the mages over the templars.
A retro rebound Dragon Age video just as we also have a Dragon Age sale on Steam! Gotta love it!!
Dragon Age 2 is so underrated.
You should really reccomend people getting it on PC, because it plays in a superior way (DAO)
theres no way i'd play DA:O on a console, the control scheme alone seems like a nightmare. The game was created for PC. Console versions weren't even ported by bioware.
PC version keeps crashing for me
It feels like it was meant for PC anyway because keyboard feels natural. That and mods to tweak out some minor stuff like increasing walk speed.
Only play it on PC if you use GOG, because the steam version is crash city.
As a PC player, DA:O looks better to play on a console. lol
Im on the journey to re-100% and solo nightmare all three games before DAV, so hyped!
You should really mention this other channel more often or at least a little louderly for the casual viewers! I watch fairly regular and had no
idea about this one!
I'm starting my 3rd origin playthrough only this time with all of the dlc's!
I'm fairly certain louderly isn't a word but it felt right at the time! 🎉
Dragon Age 2 is not as bad as everyone thinks and is better than Inquisition.
That's my hill
Hard to wash away the feeling of being ripped off on launch. Full price and a numbered title for a game that spans one city.
I agree.
I would like to stand on your hill as well, I enjoyed 2 way more than I did inquisition
@@SkylarTrahan I welcome you, sir knight.
I have played through them all before but never one after another and never finished them until a couple of months ago now when I decided to replay them off of a friend’s recommendation.
I personally started with Inquisition for PS4, and I loved every moment of it. It holds a very special place in my heart... It definitely made me play Origins and 2 and I honestly still haven't completed either of those games TuT
Edit: I majorly agree with you on how they should've made a legendary edition of Dragon Age instead of Mass Effect. I was so disappointed when we didn't get that :c
Witcher overshadowed inquisition.
I love all DA games
ive just now played da2 after loving origins and inquisition for a few years now. i love it just as much. my problem is that i always get too attached to the characters and then get sad when the story ends, or doesnt end like i wanted it to.
Fully agreed on the DA2 combat, i missed the mages and archers switching to close range combat when necessary
Love all three but for different reasons. I’m sure I’ll enjoy Veilguard too.
If I could only take one it would be Origins but I’ve thoroughly enjoyed time time with them all.
I hope we can get a Legendary Edition of Origins and DA2 at some point - as we had for Mass Effect
Yeah Ive never seen people hate color being added to a game so much like wtf?
Honestly can’t believe you never played Awakening
Great timing for an An obituary we can all morn its passing fron this world , and enjoy the memories, cause ..theres nothing else
Origins is my favorite but love series. 2 is overhated. Its a good game
The mission of collecting blankets was the nail in the coffin for me
I wish I could go back in time just to play Origins for the first time again
So the way i see the story is its currently a trilogy that started with DA2. The events of DA2 permeate into DAI and DAI leads into this game. DAO sets up almost like a prequel
I loved all the dragon age games - including DA2. But Inquistion was released missing some intended features.
Which features were those?
I played Inquisition on PS4 first. I loved it. It made me go back and get/play the originals on PS3.
Loved DAO. Up there with my favourites like the BG trilogy, planescape Torment, Tyranny and KCD
My biggest issue with inquisition was it was blatantly obvious there was a lot cut from it, like the reason for collecting agents and I think we were meant to have seiges or something similar in each area in order to free it from the Venatori
The Arishok is a better villain than Loghain??? What??
definitely was. the arishok was quite intimidating, Loghain was just a traitor.
Pretty sure DA2 came out about 6 months before Skyrim
It did
I've missed DA:O, so played the DA:2 first. And I absolutely loved this game. I did not understand and still don't do why hated this game so much.
When map of the city was shown in video, I've catched a vibe of that time, truly, no other game brought so much joy to me ever. Its characters are so interesting, its plot is so good and unpredictable, man.
I tried the DA:O and I liked it as well, great game. It is just very different. I'm so lucky, that I've tried DA:2 first.
Dragon Age is my favourite game franchise ever, along with Mass Effect. I can’t wait for DA:V, fingers crossed it is not like Andromeda! But I’m pretty sure I will love it.
Dragon Age Legendary Edition would be such an easy W for BioWare. After watching the gameplay reveal for Veilguard, I'm thinking we are back!
Agreed. One of the reasons I haven't played 2 is because it doesn't have controller support for the PC port.
Every other video I watch has the slow zoom on the generic 80's TV.
a retro gaming channel covering the dragon age games makes me feel old
If we could get dragon age origins handheld I would cry
I totally agree with your ideas about a Dragon Age Legendary edition, but honestly if they just enhance the graphics of DAO and give it a few bug fixes and tweaks, i'd be satisfied.
Lets not forget Inquisition won game of the year in 2014. Even a controversial entry in the DA series is a highly reguarded video game. And this was before the era of "if it ships in bad shape it will eventually be better with updates". It still won game of year even though peple had their issues with the game. That says a lot about the general quality of Bioware RPGs.
"If it ships in bad shape it will eventually be better with updates" tell that to Mass Effect Andromeda and Anthem lol.
@@alucard8433 Andromeda and anthem came out years after inquisition, I don't lump them in the old era of bioware.
So true- the game was really amazing to me when I first played it. I think people tend to lose focus on that fact when discussing this franchise. The tone difference between games I jarring for OG Origin players, but all three are great.
@@svenskhund3603 Andromeda was the same era as Inquisition.
I honestly wouldn’t mind a remake of dragon age 1 and 2 in a bigger scope kinda like ff7 remake to me that just sounds amazing
Dragon age 2 one of the best.
DAI is my favorite. I played it first, though. I have since played DAO and loved it but I am more Skyrim and DAI then Baulders gate and DAO.
My biggest issue with Da2 and DaI, is that you don't need to be there. In both of these games, the major plot twisting event that leads to the end, is taken from you and your group. That decision is made for you. Which tells me my story doesn't matter, only theirs does.
Dragon Age: Awakening is a must play
I'm always playing Dragon Age! Never finished Inquisition, though, as I roam around having no clear direction on where to go
