  • Here we have an awesome player piano rendition of "Xanadu" played by Rudy Martin and issued as QRS 10-703. A top 10 hit for Olivia Newton-John and The Electric Light Orchestra, it is the title song from the film starring Newton-John and Gene Kelly.

I love this! Where do you find such obscure rolls?!

I really wish they would have made better use of the octave wavers... those are by far the coolest effect of the player piano. Put to use in this song it would have been incredible (similar to the 2nd half of the I Left My Heart in San Francisco roll)

Oooo. They could have really gone to town on this. It’s ok, but it sounds like it was arranged for Captain & Tenille.

overall a great roll, love the song, but why did rudy martin always seem to want to throw in these weird unnecessary runs into this & other songs that just didn't need it, eg, the introduction to xanadu on this roll

This tune has kind of a weird intro to it if you listen to the album.

Susan Beverly i agree the studio version on the album is unusual definitely, but what i don’t understand is how rudy martin interprets that intro up to 0:23 in the video with the top end notes, i mean, what is that supposed to be, it makes the start of the roll/song sound crazy
