n spite of it's flaws, Halo Infinite will always have a special place in my heart. Having lost my girlfriend to suicide, I can entirely relate to Master Chief's sorrow upon losing Cortana. His emotions affects him as much as my own. The writer did such an excellent job at fleshing out Chief's coping with his loss, not sugarcoating it in the least. Sometimes I can't help but feel like I could've done something more to help my beloved.
I LOVED this campaign! It had its problems sure BUT it was one of the best campaigns in the franchise I’ve played, it is LOADS better than 5’s AND I loved Chief’s character in it

I don’t think she’s dead. If she was we would’ve been given a proper cut scene on how she died. You don’t just kill off one of the main character and not have it in a cut scene to see it for ourselves. She somewhere for sure

She doesn't regret her actions, because she trusts Chief and Weapon to learn from her mistakes and build a better world after her death (or something like that). Even knowing how she's going to die, she wouldn't change a thing.

Though I completed the game and got to admit that enemy balance sucks huge ass (fuck you hunters!!!) - but I think, there is no doubt about the fact of Infinite's story being easily one of the best. It's not unique by any means, but it has weight, and more importantly - it has emotions. I loved every second of those flashbacks.
I've played the whole game through and as a Halo fan it just hurts emotionally. The whole game just hurts because that's exactly what Cortana and John were afraid of. And that's a big problem in the game... something important happened in the story and you're just thrown in after that. Everyone knows what happened (Master Chief, the pilot, ...) and it's not that they forgot because of amnesia or something like that. They just don't tell the player and we are desperately looking for clues about what happened but we should actually already know everything as Master Chief... The whole thing is so frustrating ... Another problem with the game is how did Cortana get defeated? She had access to the blood fathers' knowledge and their "hardware" (weapons, stations, soldiers, and so much more) and then just "Puff"... Where are the "Guardian Custodes"? Where is Halo 5's Forerunner Army? They are just gone and a brute, could Cortana be easy? How could that happen? It seems that 343 has created an overpowering enemy and just didn't know how to go on after Halo 5... Halo Infinite just seems like a very long goodbye and it hurts to watch and i have no chance to rescue Cortana.
Seriously so much context has been left out of this game. The story was there, the new Cortana I love to death and Brohammer is my favorite. But what the fuck 343? Where is Laskey? Where is the Infinity? Where is the fleet? What happened to Earth? So many damn questions we never got answers too. It was like they stepped right over those important parts. Biggest thing I didn't like about this game was how alone I felt. It would've been cool if Laskey and other Spartans appeared but nope.
@C G they did exactly what Activision did with Warzone, make it free to play, introduce a battle pass system you have to pay for and grind, and introduced a system where you have to pay for like 95 percent of the in-game cosmetic items (not counting the battle pass items)

It wasnt never about that tho. The entire trilogy was more than just a war. It was definitely more geared towards Chief and Cortana. 4 was the goodbye, chief couldent live with himself and Cortana tried to tell him it was over. 5 she ignored her rampancy, and chief didnt get the message from 4, infinite shows the aftermath of what happens. Chief needed to learn to let go, and Cortana realized her mistakes.
Ehh, I’m not a fan of series apologizing for their previous entry and abandoning what they were setting up. It would’ve been much cooler to see Cortana take over the galaxy. Not watch what happened long after

@@scottgrasser9475 It especially sucked because we know that AI can reach metastability and that Halo 4 had that whole theming with living minds being converted into AI, so they could've easily had the Chief and Cortana stop the composer and somehow utilize it to fix her. It would be pretty easy to hand-wave because the Librarian literally mentions that the Composer was designed to convert living individuals into AI and back again, and based on how we see it function, the primary reason it fails is that people are encoded while experiencing blistering pain and death. All they'd need to do is use it on a non-living target (Cortana) and instead of converting an AI into a living form, just convert the thought structure to something more perfectly matching a living neural network. That's basically what natural metastability already results in. If they did this they could've also had the Diadact not quite die (like he technically already did in the books), and have him in Halo 5. He could even still utilize the Guardians the same way Cortana did.
Everyone’s complaining about the campaign, meanwhile I’m over here who enjoyed every single second of it.

They could've also just had Cortana get fixed in 4 instead of "dying" skipped the plot of 5 entirely and then did Infinite with slight modifications.

It especially sucked because we know that AI can reach metastability and that Halo 4 had that whole theming with living minds being converted into AI, so they could've easily had the Chief and Cortana stop the composer and somehow utilize it to fix her. It would be pretty easy to hand-wave because the Librarian literally mentions that the Composer was designed to convert living individuals into AI and back again, and based on how we see it function, the primary reason it fails is that people are encoded while experiencing blistering pain and death.
All they'd need to do is use it on a non-living target (Cortana) and instead of converting an AI into a living form, just convert the thought structure to something more perfectly matching a living neural network. That's basically what natural metastability already results in.
If they did this they could've also had the Diadact not quite die (like he technically already did in the books), and have him in Halo 5. He could even still utilize the Guardians the same way Cortana did.
