Always love your content! You mention a poison briefly and it getting into the creek. But there is a tree and brush poison I have used (it's green tinted) that I apply to fresh cuts that REALLY WORKS! I use a foam "brush" and dab only the perimeter of the fresh cut. 90% of the time it works on the first application. Some varietals I have had to do several applications, but ultimately it has worked and definitely no risk of ground or water contamination : )

I often tell residential customers that residential tree care is a compromise. It might not be best for the tree to be reduced, but it may be better for the tree than removal- the other option.

What if, after you knocked the tops off of all of those, you went down and girdled them right next to the ground? Then at least they'd die, fill up that space and make it harder for other crap to establish.
It would sure be a shame if a little roundup spilled right on to the exposed sapwood when you girdled them. 🙂
