Watched this video again this AM. While the visual cue points are VERY useful, if I go away from a song for a while and come back to it, I often forget what I originally set the cue points for. A helpful tip that I picked up along they way (maybe from you) is to go into your DJ software and name the cue point by the action I need to take at that cue point. For example, "Cue point A" becomes "Play Next" and/or "Cue point B" might be "1 beat loop", etc, etc. The notes you can add for the cue points are limitless.

Techniques are great, and well executed. Only big problem is that's it's super mega overused. After the 3rd one in a mix it's just getting old, boring and actually disturbing, I wanna listen to the music first and foremost.
So it's just cheesy and cheap in the end, like everything what's overused in life. Too bad since he is talented for sure, even tho I don't like this pop edm music

James is a great DJ no doubt but after hearing the 'loop tightening+fader cuts' more than a couple of times in a mix i wanna unplug His CDJs, same goes for the endless 'Noise Effect+cutting' shenanigans xD

@@LeeJaaijMusicTV Dude is hella talented no question what so ever and he deserves all the success that goes with it, he has 4 decks playing a hell of a lot of the time which is hell a hard so he got the skills for Days. I remember hearing James speaking about starting as an open format DJ with Serato and Turntables and he says he was pretty awesome at but moves to CDJs as he wanted to be known as a House DJ/producer and that was the format that was accepted for clubs ect.
So dude obviously got those creative vocal loop scratches/cuts/drops down for sure, they sound so much better than endless Noise+Fader Cuts ect. My 2 cents. Who am i to critique anyway, he obviously killin it doing what he is doing so.

Cheap and overused stuff, this is why i hate EDM, and all of these "pro" mixing technics, it just hide, that they can't sync 2 tracks for more than 8-16 beats, without the softwares of the CDJs. This sounds cool.. once, not repeatedly after 2-3 mins (sometimes less), for a whole party.
Great job on breaking it down tho ;)
So we're not using this wrong, just don't want to act like EDM "pro" djs.. (*pro, is more like paid)
we can press buttons timed too :P
    This won't make anyone pro..
Another stuff like this, is spinning vinyls backward before the drop.. All the time.. Yikes.

When the loop gets tightened using the platter, is it still tightening by 1/2x?
The denon prime go doesn't have the ability to tighten the loop using the platter but it can tighten further by 1/2x. I was curious if the effect was the same using the platter vs the loop tighten button and if it's just personal preference?
