One doesn't simply watch 'the Call' without also watching 'Warriors' and 'Awaken' as well. There are plenty of other really good LoL cinematics, but these three tend to be the cream of the crop in their catalogue of cinematic trailers
Just a side note: There are a bunch of reaction videos, and most of them suck. For a better experience I would recommend you getting into the lore a bit, but don't go too deep, it's quite spacious :D You did some actual good comments on the cinematic while watching, tho let me share some experience with you. People come to share the moment with you in this kind of videos, they want you to feel how amazing and extraordinary these cinematics are. A good tone would be to just watch it silent and in awe, and only then to be revisiting great moments with comments :) Can't tell you how true that is, but noone wants a cool moment to be ruined or missed by you. There are about 3 hours of cinematics from Lol and then about an hour of top-notch cinematics from Blizzard for Wow and Diablo IV. Keep up the good work, but remember, we are waiting! :D
That little 1 second shot of the hand as Pantheon climbs is still blowing me away. It's funny how it's such a little thing but it really drives the quality home to me.
@@ChompStudio im not 100% sure but i think they said nothing in this is motion capture. now is there other ways thats not that and thats what this is? i dont know but i think they said they did no motion capture.
@@zerodawn09 The three scenes that stood out to me where the hand, the eye and the close up of pantheon side on after hes been knocked off the mountain. They had me questioning if this was actually animated
@@Llama_charmer yes. as of late riot has loved doing eye shots. you need to watch from riot K/DA villain. the lip shot there looks to good to be animated. they do some shots there too that look to real to be animated but it is 100% animated. riot keeps pushing the boundries and some times it works while others have not. have you seen the live performance of worlds 2018? that AR is shocking good, so much many think it was put in after but nope that was live.
@@zerodawn09If you think those shots are real, I'm questioning if you've ever been outside in your life 💀. I agree that they're extremely well made, but they're far from looking real just because the artstyle isn't even intended to look real 😐…
The red wookie is Ornn, God of the Forge. The few scenes where he is making a sword is significant because Ornn hasn’t forged a weapons in over a thousand years. The making of a weapon is a sign that war is coming. The ice place is Freljord. The lady on the boar (Bristle) is Sejuani. She is leading her small group of warriors (including Olaf, the dude who head butt the ice) against the Ursine (the polar bear dudes). Sejuani is part of a much larger group, but they are scattered into many smaller groups to make survival easier (less mouths to feed logic). The Ursine are followers of a god named Volibear (The bear in the clouds). The Ursine are men who can transform into bears and use lightning because they worship Volibear. They stole a cauldron from Ornn that allows any mortal to go a year without food if they drink from it. (Ornn and Volibear are brothers, but they don’t like eachother). The Ursine stole the cauldron because Volibear believes it makes men weak. (Man needs to be fighting constantly to stay strong logic). The desert area is a region of Shurima. Taliyah (the earthbending lady) and Kai’sa (purple girl) have teamed up recently to fight the Xer’sai (small(er) tunneling monsters from the Void). The Xer’sai are children of the big creature, Rek’sai. In the end, Kai’sa sacrifices herself (not in a dying way but like a freedom way) by leading Rek’sai back to the void while Taliyah seals the tunnel. Taliyah is all about protecting people and Kai’sa is all about fighting void monsters. Kai’sa’s suit is actually a living creature that created a symbiotic relationship with Kai’sa (think venom). Kai’sa was a normal human girl, but she got trapped in the void at a young age and had to fight for survival while miraculously keeping her hair, skin, and makeup beautiful. The spartan is Pantheon but also has the human name Atreus. (I’m a bit iffy on this side of the lore). Pantheon is a man that was possessed/gained the power of the aspect of war, but the aspect of war died and gave Pantheon his humanity back (or something like that). He is climbing Mount Targon which is like a magical mountain that the celestials and aspects (basically gods) reside. Few mortals are able to reach the top of Mount Targon. Those that do are granted great power. (Reason pantheon god the power of the aspect of war.) The men he encounters by the portal are the solari. They are men who worship the sun. Pantheon drives his spear into the ground because he does not have any quarrel with humans. Pantheon hates the celestials and aspects which is why he is ascending the mountain to fight them. He beats the shit out of the men, but he doesn’t kill them because his fight is with the aspects. The gold lady, Leona appears from the portal to fight Pantheon. (The look he gives her is him being glad he’s finally found the opponent he’s been looking for). Leona is the aspect of the sun and leader of the solari. During the fight, Pantheon is blasted by a giant laser, which is theorized to be a falling star from a being named Aurelion Sol. He is a giant space that created the universe and likely the final boss opponent for Pantheon. The final bit of Pantheon’s part of the video, he is using his god powers to jump back to the top of the mountain which is his ultimate in the game where he can jump halfway across the map and come crashing down on his enemies.
i think with Pantheon; Atreus was unwillingly chosen by the god of War to become an aspect, and they fought Aatrox, one of the Darkin. Aatrox stabbed Pantheon in the chest (note the scar on Pantheon's chest), killing the god, but through sheer willpower, the human Atreus survived. Pantheon has the aspects spear and shield, which help him fight, but it is his unshakeable will that makes him strong when Pantheon (spartan guy) fought Leona (lady with sun themed sword and shield) she is the aspect of the sun and a member of the solari tribe, so when she hit his shield, and it looked like a solar flare, there is a specific reason for it. Pantheon was fighting her because she was guarding the portal to the realm of the gods, and Pantheon wants to kill them all, so they cant meddle with humanity anymore and ruin lives like the god of war did to Atreus also not 100% on all the lore, but Pantheon is one of my favorite characters, so i think i got most of it mostly correct
@@vRED13vTTV yep he was trying to make into Targon Prime which is the portal that Solari soldiers are guarding. He didn't kill a single one of the humans and only knocked them out because the humans by themselves did nothing wrong, they were brainwashed by the Solari faith which Leona then comes crashing down to fight him. Which is when he picks his spear back up in a "I have finally found who I was looking for" kind of way
What I really love about this cinematic is that they show the characters' real abilities, as you use them in LoL. Sejuani can throw this thing to freeze her enemies, Pantheon can fly to distant locations with his spear, Volibear's lightnings, and so much more. And like everyone else, I would enjoy your thoughts on Warriors and Awaken :D
All League's champions abilities are just game-adapted versions of their real abilities in the lore. Many cinematics have shown such champion abilities. Here's the best list I could make off the top of my head. Awaken: Draven [W], Sion [Q and R], Karma [W], Kennen [W and E], Akali [W and E], Yasuo [Q], Camille [W and E], and Jhin [E]. (I don't think I missed any?) The Call: Pantheon [R], Olaf [Q], Sejuani [Q and E/R], Kai'sa [W?] (I might be confusing it with the Warriors 2020 one…). A New Dawn: Warriors 2020: A Twist of Fate: The Climb: The Kin of Stained Blade: All the Ruination cinematics, but I forgot which abilities are used 🥲. I'll go watch the cinematics I already listed, take a couple notes and come back to edit this comment. I don't want to make mistakes in the abilities I mention 😅.
The scene post-fight with Pantheon (the 300 guy) where he closes his eyes and seems almost to cry as the light around him bathes his face is one of the best looking visuals I've seen in any medium.
Only now I realized that the explosion when the two shields impacted looks like a solar flare. Which is very nice considering that Leona (the female warrior in golden armour) is from an order of Solari who worship the Aspect of the Sun.
Oh man....what a great description! Nice work! That would totally make sense of how inspired that flare effect felt...mimicking the effects of the sun. Thanks for this!
Of all the awesome shots in the cinematic, I think that the one that blew me away the most since the first time I saw it is how the skin on the hand wrinkles around the wrist in that part where you talk about the grass moving under the guy's grip. It's such an insane detail that I caught it right away, even though it's something we see daily in real life.
Everybody already said it in the comments, but I can't recommend "Warriors" and "Awaken" enough. These two and "The Call" are really the best Riot's cinematics in this more "realistic" style (although "The Call" is still the best in my opinion). They also have billion cinematics in more of an "Arcane style" (some of them were even done by the same studio), especially I would recommend "Tales of Runeterra" series, "Rise", "Get Jinxed" and "KDA POP/STARS". Just don't check this year's cinematic "Brink of Infinity", it was really bland in comparison to Riot's usual cinematics, that they release at the beginning of the year. Hopefully opening cinematic of 2024 will be as good as "The Call" 🤞 P.S Spartan looking guy's name is Atreus, but he also known as Pantheon.
I love seeing experts get to appreciate the greatness of Riot's work like this, and then giving such awesome feedback on the different scenes! And even though you don't know all these characters or the lore, you can still feel the vibe of the scenes and the power of their struggles through Riot's handywork - but visual and audio! Everyone is recommending Awaken and Warriors, and I couldn't agree more, but i also recommend Legends of Runeterra's "Breathe" cinematic. Legends of Runeterra is another game by Riot that uses League's universe and characters and the animation in that one is different from Awaken, Warriors, and The Call, but it's just as awesome!!
2:01 Not only is the cinematic itself amazing, it becomes even better when you know each character's lore because it allows you to appreciate some of the more subtle decisions made by its writers. For example, Atreus (the Spartan, known in the game as Pantheon) is on a self-assigned quest to kill all the Aspects (basically gods who grant they powers to a host) because unlike the others who lent their powers to humans, the Aspect of War (called "the Pantheon") had completely taken over Atreus' body. It was eventually killed, freeing Atreus of its control but also leaving him with its godlike powers. That's why he planted his spear when facing the Solari soldiers and picked it up again when Leona showed up; she's the host of the Aspect of the Sun. Another example is when we see Ornn at the beginning and end of the video forging a sword. If you don't know the lore, it might seem like a weird thing to just show a blacksmith forging a single sword. The reason why it's important is because he vowed in the past to never forge a weapon again. The fact that he's making a weapon means that an event (in lore, not in the games) is coming. One important enough that justifies the Freljordian Demi-God of the Forge breaking his vow and making weapons again.
This is awesome! I love reading about the lore of these cinematics from the comments section then going back later and watching them again. Appreciate it!
I think it is less that Atreus was left with Pantheon the Aspect of War's godlike powers.. and more like because the Aspect of War Pantheon had died, a space for that position was left upon that world. In the heat of Atreus' battle and through the sheer willpower behind Atreus' strikes against Aatrox as he was enraged at both the gods and Aatrox for this war and suffering they bring onto humanity, Atreus usurped the power of the Aspect of War, it isn't that he has Pantheon's power.. its that it is now a power belonging to Atreus, for Pantheon the Aspect of War is no more, and Atreus, the human Aspect of War has now taken his place.
One thing I noticed additionally to the secondary motion of the grass is how the hand and the skin is animated. It is amazing! I think they used a real hand or used really good references for that one!
So, let's talk a bit of the characters here, at least those i know stuff about First we se Ornn, the goat-like demigod of the forge, on the Freljord, the snowy place. Then we see Sejuani, leading her tribe, looking for a magical artifact that could feed them, if i recall correctly. Then we see Taliyah and Kai'Sa, i don't know much about them, but for what i know, Taliyah is looking for a good olace for her people, and Kai'sa is just helping to fight the void. (Purple place from where the things they fight come from) Then we see Pantheon/Atreus, basically a man of absolute willpower that wields the power of gods, as he was a vessell of a god that took over his body, but during a fight against a Darkin (Big evil guy that doesn't appear here) the god inside him was slain, but the man survived, regaining control of his body and developing a hatred for gods. Sejuani and her group fight the Ursine, a group of chamans that worship the Volibear, Ornn's brother and biggest rival, basically god of the wild. Kai'sa and Taliyah fight against creatures of the void that are invading the world, in this case, the spawn or Rek'Sai, big thing that appears later. Pantheon fights Leona, a woman that also basically has a god inside her except this one doesn't just override her personality. The League universe is massive, and so expansive that what we get to see in Arcane is basic in comparison. (Not throwing hate, i loved the series)
@@TheJerbol didn't forget about him, but i didn't find him relevant enough, considering that all he does in this cinematic is tank half a mountain and kill a few bears, the average Olaf stuff
This was a great breakdown, man! This (from what I have seen) is probably the most graphically amazing, but there are a lot of other League Cinematics that are definitely as epic, storytelling wise! I highly recommend 'Warriors' and 'Awaken'. :) Going on something you mentioned, I think you should check out Warriors next!
Heya there. I see you reacting to League reactions while we wait for that season 2 of Arcane aswell... Since i watched all of Lol cinematics and Arcane i too watch every reaction i can find... Its been 0 days since my relaps... Hold strong brother...
@@miklauzknaus Haha, the struggle is real! XD Love hearing people's different takes on Arcane, it is fascinating how many different options of characters there are!
@@ChompStudio I am not sure if it's your cup of tea but I also recommend checking out the muic video's of League. They put together virtual bands with their characters (real singers are singin and usually they create a whole skinline for the "music group" members). So you might want to check out K/DA(genre kpop), True Damage (genre hiphop/rap) or Pentakill(genre metal). Pentakill even has 3 ablums up to date released. the top videos are: K/DA - popstars K/DA - more K/DA - villian K/DA - the baddest True Damage- giants (at 0.07 there is an Arcane easter egg - maybe you can spot it) - the song was released 2 years before Arcane premiered ;) Pentakill - mortal reminder (please keep in mind the video is 6yrs old but still very fun and good for that time) oh and as an Arcane fan you should definetly react to the Jinx theme song which got a music video made as well (9yrs orld). It is called "Get Jinxed" and was the very first proper music video they put together and tried out how it is received by the player base/viewers. As you might tell from Arcane and the fact that they put together music groups and do music videos - Riot Games (Creator company of League of Legends) puts a lot of emphasis on music. That is also why almost every champion get a specific music theme composed/created - which has always helped to stand out from the masses of game companies. They one that ignited the music passion at Riot was no other than Christian Linke who is co-writer of Arcane :D
Leonidas name is Pantheon. The flare effect from the shield clash is symbolism, as the female warrior that appears is named Leona, and is the Aspect of the Sun.
The spartan's name is Atreus but he is known as Pantheon its like a title thats passed down and Pantheon is the aspect of war essentially the god of war I suppose. He lost a battle to Aatrox another demi god in the universe and the god died but Atreus lived on through sheer determination to win and has small remenants of his god powers left. I guess what we saw in the cinematic was his climb to mount targon which is essentially Olympus. Any mortal that climbs it will be granted god like powers or turns into a celestial being. Atreus however doesnt really care about it he has his pride as a human and he wins battles through his sheer willpower and the gods fear him for that cause he is a man who will not bow to them and is willing to fight them if need be
The names of all the people! the guy in the forge is named Ornn, the woman on the boar is called Sejuani, the viking is Olaf, Leonidas is called Pantheon, the person he fights with the flaming sword is called Leona, Purple suit lady is named Kai'Sa, and her companion earth bender is called Taliyah, and finally the massive purple beast that erupts from the hole is called Rek'Sai.
The nice thing is league of legends doesn't do anything with half effort and they experiment and go all in. They have a plethora of great videos from their short story "annie" to their music video's such as kda(pop music), and even their spin offs such as the star guardians(think sailor moon inspired). Would love to see you react to various other league of legends videos.
I have started to look a bit more...there is definitely A LOT of great content from storytelling to just pure visuals. I have more on the list for sure!
I didn't see it mentioned, but I wanted to highlight how (like the abilities) we get a glimpse into the personalities of the characters portrayed. Atreus (the spartan guy) sets aside his spear when he is confronted by mortal men, but when the Celestial (a sort of demigod) Leona arrives, he essentially takes off the kid gloves. Sejuani (boar rider) also demonstrates her tendencies toward protective fury, which is a core component to both her character and her conflict with the other tribes in the region. Kai'Sa (alien chick with the purple suit) also shows her character here as she dives headlong into the tunnel made by Rek'Sai (the biggest sand worm thing) without Taliyah (the young girl accompanying her, who is actually canonically older) getting a chance to stop her. I recommend watching Necrit's video breaking down the lore implications of this, if you're interested in not just the animation and cinematography but also how they translated the story from written to video media.
Another in the WH universe, "Victory" is incredible. The other recommendations I gave you've done already so here's hoping I don't realize this has been done as well. Wrath of the Lich King trailer is always a must.
if you ever feel like you want to react to another League of Legends project, you should watch Rise or Gods. I would recommend Rise. They were music videos for the anthem of their world championship tournament and they tell the story of past champions. They're really really well done as well and more anime style and less hyper realistic.
You should definetly check out Necrit and his League lore vids. Especially the MMO related once, since they contain lots of lore that is related to all the backgrounds :D
Oh hey thanks. I have always loved other artists work. We can learn a lot by breaking this stuff down a little bit, and then use it as inspiration in our own work!
@@ChompStudio reacting to.nerdy stuff from a relevant professionally related perspective always blows up. Video game cinematics and slow transitions to anime woukd serve you very well~ composers react to anime and game music, doctors react to anime injuries, it goes on.. rappers, etc
@@ChompStudioheavy hitter cinematics that will hit it out of the park would be Diablo 4s cinematic and World of Warcraft lich king cinematic (remastered) - they remade it and its gorgeous. These 2 will be amazing for views and i say it without bias because I havent played diablo at all but the cinematic is insane
I know others have already given you lore dumps but I wanna give a basic rundown on every character featured in this cinematic that is currently in League of Legends, this will be in alphabetical order. Kai'Sa, otherwise known as the Daughter of the Void is the lady in the desert that has a purple suit, that purple suit is a symbiotic voidborn that attached itself to her shortly after the Void just ate her whole town when she was a child. That suit does give her several special powers such as teleportation and the use of void guns/missiles that shoot directly out of the suit. She has made it her mission in life to fight off the Void and to find her father. Her methods can be mildly questionable and pragmatic as she sees them in a "a few people can die for the greater good" kind of way. However, she seems to be perfectly willing to sacrifice herself to that cause as seen in the later parts of this cinematic. Leona, otherwise known as the Radiant Dawn and the Aspect Host of the Sun is the leader of the Solari (worshippers of the sun) faith and Host of the Aspect of the Sun (Aspects are basically gods that represent constants in mortal life, such as the sun, moon, war, etc. They are celestials that are too weak to enter the mortal realm on their own so they find a host from those that complete the climb of Mount Targon). Leona is seen here fighting off Atreus/Pantheon as he is trying to access Targon Prime through that gate, which is basically the gate to the celestial realm so he can murder the gods in a Kratos sort of style. Leona is seen about to lose when Aurelion Sol, a massive star dragon that originally made the stars shoots down a few comets that hit Atreus/Pantheon Olaf, simply known as the Berserker is a viking man who is a member of the Winter's Claw, a nomadic tribe in the Freljord which is split into several groups through "less mouths to feed" logic. The group he is in was sent to find the Cauldron of Ornn, which is prophesized to be able to leave someone full for one year if they drink out of it. The reason why Olaf agreed to go on this dangerous mission is because, according to a prophet that he spoke to, he would die a peaceful and calm death, which is a death that is looked down upon by many in the Freljord. So, if the prophet is correct, he is functionally impervious to damage until he gets too old to fight and has to lie down and rest, which is why he was seen taking several giant chunks of ice falling from the mountain onto his back without immediately dying. Ornn, otherwise known as the Fire Below the Mountain and The Freljordian Spirit God of the Forge is, well, the spirit god of the forge and the goat man making a sword in this cinematic. Ornn is a very quiet and reserved being who doesn't talk too much to others and is sibling with several other spirit gods such as the Volibear and Anivia, although Anivia isn't shown here and I'll talk about Valhir later. Ornn used to have many followers known as the Hearthblood but they were all brutally killed after Ornn had to battle it out with his brother. The reason him making weapons could be seen as signifigant to lore nerds such as myself is because he hasn't forged for thousands of years since the Hearthblood died. Pantheon, otherwise known as The Unbreakable Spear or simply Atreus (the spartan man in this cinematic) is a man whose body was taken over by the Aspect of War when he climbed Mount Targon but was deemed an unfitting host. He lost control of his body for years on end until The Aspect of War had to battle it out with the Darkin (basically demon weapon god being) Aatrox, otherwise known as the Darkin Blade. Aatrox was able to stab Pantheon directly in the chest and carve out the Aspect's power and dim his representing stars from the sky. Atreus, although incredibly hurt was able to survive and gain control of his body again, but through that experience of being an Aspect and needing to deal with Darkin and Ascended, realized that mortals should take back their lives and not let these godly beings dictate them. So he made it his mission to end all the Ascended, Aspects, Darkin, whatever stood in the way of mankind dictating themselves, he would end. Which is why he's seen fighting Leona at the top of Mount Targon, and how he reignited his godly power to launch himself upward to either take control of Aurelion or to go for round two against Leona. Rek'Sai, otherwise known as the Void Burrower and the broodmother of the Xer'Sai is a void-spawn that has her brood in the middle of the Shuriman deserts, she and her brood prey on basically every living being that comes within her hunting grounds. With a large portion of the uninhabited Shuriman desert being known as her hunting grounds. The Xer'Sai in this cinematic are the small voidborn that come out of the ground that Kai'Sai and Taliyah quickly dispose of with Rek'Sai being the largest one that Kai'Sa sacrifices herself to lead Rek'Sai back in to the Void through the void rift from which she came. Sejuani, otherwise known as the Fury of the North and the warmother (aka leader) of the Winter's Claw is the woman in armor riding the giant boar-ike animal known as Bristle. She, Olaf, and several other assigned men are going on a mission to find the cauldron of Ornn. Which is an incredibly dangerous mission because they have to enter the land of the Ursine, which is where the true worshippers of the Volibear reside, the Ursine are the man bears that can shoot lightning. The reason why Sejuani is able to freeze people is because she is an Iceborn, which means she can handle True Ice and use it to her advantage. True Ice is able to basically freeze anything that comes in contact with it. Taliyah, otherwise known as the Stoneweaver, and the Earth bender in this cinematic is a lady who was with Kai'Sa exploring the ruins of the abandoned city of Xolun, hoping to rebuild said city if they could subdue the Xer'Sai, which I have already covered along with Rek'Sai. Taliyah is very different from Kai'Sa because she has the view that no one should die and/or be sacrificed for the greater good, however she would need to take Kai'Sa's more pragmatic view when toppling that cliffside directly onto the void hole, even if it meant sacrificing one of her friends for the greater good. The Volibear, otherwise known as The Relentless Storm or Valhir is the Freljordian spirit god of the old ways of the wilds and survivalism, and the "storm" that comes with it. The Volibear's most loyal worhippers, known as the Ursine, were shown in this cinematic as the bear men that took on Sejuani and her group, along with his image being cast into the sky at several points in the cinematic as the giant bear over the mountain. The Volibear believes that society and other such "luxuries" make people weak which is why he took away the cauldron of Ornn and has it guarded by his worshippers. He is known for promoting the old ways of the wilds and survivalism, believing that that is how people should truly live their lives. And yeah I think that's it, I love League so even if this took forever to type, I had a fun time doing it!
League is known for their cinematics even for people that don't play the game. You should really check out the rest of them and maybe try to go in order because it will be like a cinematic movie.
@@ChompStudio they scrapped the one they were working on bc it wasnt going to be done in time and instead put together a very sloppy last minute cinematic (its really bad by their standards)
one of the best things about league of legends, is the lore, and all the characters back stories and environments, like going from bilgewater which is very pirate oriented, to freilord which is Vikings and the erzine, to more futuristic areas like piltover/zaun, all the way to ionia which is basically feudal japan. from memory most characters have sad or very interesting story's/lore, examples are amumu who is a mummy and a child who is cursed to be sad and alone for eternity. then there is kindred who was one beings but tore them self's apart into 2 beings lamb and a wolf, both if memory serves is basically the spirit realm grim reaper. from there we have as you call him lienitis, but his real name is pantheon, his dream was to be a baker but got thrown into war more or less and became way to powerful a warrior but with a kind heart who still wants to bake and not kill. the we have what is know as an anomaly known as shaco, he has 0 back story, and 0 lore, he is a killer jester that some how just exists for no reason and as i said he is an anomaly in this world. been playing the game since season 2 and i recommend anyone to look up all the lore even if you dont play, its personally the best lore and back story's I've seen in any game and there is so much, not just with the champs but even with the origins of there home lands
I don't want to be mean, but the one who should look up all the lore is you. You messed up so many things here and out of all the champions you could mention the lore of you go with Amumu and Shaco which are lore-less at this point in time (none of it is canon). I also want to note that your spelling is wrong and I have no idea why you don't capitalize the names of champions and locations (it makes it easier for people to understand that these are indeed names of things). Some of the lore (like Atreus [Pantheon]) you've mentioned is ancient. It's from before the lore "rework" in 2013. You should really go back and read the lore again or watch some videos on it because you seem to be almost completely clueless. Now, I don't really mind you knowing or not. But making such confident claims towards people who are new to this makes it really bad imo. You are taking people's time with your comment when they could go and read a better comment with actually more accurate and better presented information. I think it's unfair towards people under whose videos you comment. You are giving misinformation and making it harder on them which can even push them away from delving deeper (I cannot stress enough how much good grammar, spelling and punctuation helps someone enjoy the information more).
@@ThyNameIsCursedbuddy, unlike you, I did my "research" (I just know this stuff from years of reading this stuff). Here's all the problems I have with your original comment. Lore: - Shaco is not in the lore. He is literally not in the world of Runeterra at this point in time. He is not an anomaly. If you want an anomaly you have Rammus. - Amumu's lore is old. Pre-lore rework old. His music video came out just before the change. We have no idea what he is. - his real name is Atreus, not Pantheon. And he never wanted to be a baker. That's, again, pre-lore rework information you are using. He was always a warrior in the modern lore; part of the warriors of Rakkor of Mt. Targon. > out of every amazing character in the lore, you chose to say those which are so much of nothings for new people to get into. Even if Shaco's and Amumu's lore was as you've said, it's so shallow and boring compared to almost any other character. This is, of course, subjective. But if you think what you said about them is more interesting than almost any other character (my current match: Soraka, Kalista, Poppy, Ahri, Seraphine, Warwick, Aatrox, Lucian -> all with more interesting lore imo). Nitpicks: - I wouldn't define Piltover/Zaun as "futuristic". I think it's better to call it steampunk. Futuristic may imply things like the PROJECT universe. People who don't have any context have no way to properly interpret what "futuristic" means. - Kindred is a spirit. Spirits have very particular mechanics that are manifested through belief. It wasn't a being that split itself in two. That's a tale of those who believe in it. It's not actually what happened. The point of the character is that it represents two sides of death so they made a tale around it. So nothing you said here is wrong technically but the wording suggests it's a being that decided something when in reality it didn't. Those who believe in it did it. Spelling and Capitalization: - it's Ursine, not "ezrine". - it's Leonidas, not "lienitis". - it's Freljord, not "freilord". - Capitalization: League of Legends, Bilgewater, Freljord, Ursine, Piltover, Zaun, Ionia, Kindred, Wolf, Lamb, Amumu, Leonidas, Pantheon. I've been playing since season 2. You, however either lied about being there "since disk" (beta - per season 1) or have just as much time with the game as I have, giving you no credence over me in terms of time and experience. Also, I never said everything you said was wrong. I said, literally, "You messed up so many things here". Not "everything". Good luck with future comments. Hope you give it some effort in both the correctness and choice of information, as well as the presentation (spelling and grammar).
@SiMeGamer you say know one knows lore and or about amumu? This is taken off of the league site as the exact lore in the words of riot games Legend claims that Amumu is a lonely and melancholy soul from ancient Shurima, roaming the world in search of a friend. Doomed by an ancient curse to remain alone forever, his touch is death, his affection ruin. Those who claim to have seen him describe a living cadaver, small in stature and wrapped in creeping bandages. Amumu has inspired myths, songs, and folklore told and retold for generations-such that it is impossible Also there is the fact he is also a yordle. Also if ramm is anomaly why again is he in the lore through the ages considered to be a sacred oracle and a being of worship again all the proof is in the claim about amumu and just becouse lore is changed due to a champion rework does not mean it was not true at the time il admit I did not know about pantheon that his lore was changed but again that means I was still not wrong. Also saying false claims like I lied about me going to game stop and buying it on disk is really childish and rude. If you did play at season 2 then you are around my age, and if that's the case why are you acting like a child the point I was making in the first reply was leage has great lore and is very interesting then you go on a tangent about me being wrong and spouting nonsense, if you are around my age grow up kid becouse the way you have acted proves whatnot saying and whatever said about amumu. respect others becouse the fact you choose to be very needlessly rude was a choice and my Grammer, dude if you wanna choose to nitpick at my Grammer being wrong go ahead there a reason for it mental illness sets in when you where tortured brutally when in the army after being captured. Have a good night kid. If your gonna reply again and be needlessly rude and make fun of my Grammer or claim I'm lying again i will report you, you have no right to act rude then way you have
@@ThyNameIsCursedyou keep calling me "kid" for no reason. I'm likely older than you. If anyone is acting like a kid here, it's you. The lore of Amumu is pre-lore rework. It's not valid. I know what the lore is. I have also watched the music video. That doesn't make me wrong. And I wasn't rude at all. I'm just pointing out dry facts. And you should really work on your grammar, punctuation and capitalization. It's terrible. You can love the old lore, it's fine. I like it too. But it's bad practice to present it to someone new who is more likely to dip into new lore, which will only confuse them since you will be giving outdated information.
Could be right. On first viewing the earth bender girl's eye seems a little large...almost anime like....but I hear what you are saying. Could also just represent her being "young."
SImilar cinematics WARRIORS - 2020 league of legends , AWAKEN 2019 league of legends . I would HIGHLY recommend opening ceremony of 2019 league of legends world championship finals just so you understand what league is , its better then superbowl opening ceremonies 100%
I don't think you need much understanding of the characters or the lore to get what's going on here. However, one significant thing the cinematic does not convey is this: Ornn hasn't forged a weapon in a thousand years. The fact that he is doing it now _really_ means shit's about to get real.
Honestly, there's almost not a single one of these cinematics that aren't epic. One of my favorite ones, all around, is their video Phoenix. It resonates very strongly with me on a personal level. Either way, though, one of the big things they do very well is just create such an energy of... fighting through adversity and overcoming odds that it makes the audience feel like they can do it, too.
Nice reaction, but more importantly, are you planing to react on the best cinematic creator out there, Blizzard? :P Try some Diablo 4, Starcraft 2, Overwatch and WoW cinematics, you won't be disappointed.
0:41 The irony is that Arcane is actually completely disconnected from the League world (at least for now). The world of Arcane and the world of League of Legends are currently 2 clearly distinct universes even though they look identical at a first glance.
Arcane series isn't such a good introduction to the world of League of Legends For quite some time it wasn't even canon, they made it canonical now, but as "alternate reality canon" because it mismatches several eras of that world, for example Jinx and Vi should come from Zaun but in Arcane Zaun wasn't even formed yet, and portrays characters differently, for example Jayce in the main lore is kinda a giant douche Modern LoL cinematics are more about the base/main lore, previously they weren't so much, the older ones were more about portraying the game as cool experience The Call is one of the more lore-based cinematics, it even teases future events that are yet to come with that goat-demon character forging weapons because, as stated by somebody else, he hasn't forged in like a millenia and this is a call to war
@@ChompStudio if I remember right now correctly, A Twist of Fate and A New Dawn cinematics, which should be the oldest ones, are most about how cool the game is But you could see some familiar faces in there like the heavily armored lady that fought the spartan warrior in this one Also, you could check out the character introduction cinematics like Fiddlesticks: Terror in Demacia, Warwick: The Wrath of Zaun, All That Will Ever Be These are usually shorter ones, full of main lore, but also offer some interesting stuff about those champions
Thanks for the suggestion on this one! What should we watch next!
Och man - there are many many nice one from LoL. Just a sec and I'll add some of my favourites
One doesn't simply watch 'the Call' without also watching 'Warriors' and 'Awaken' as well. There are plenty of other really good LoL cinematics, but these three tend to be the cream of the crop in their catalogue of cinematic trailers
awaken, definetly
Just a side note:
There are a bunch of reaction videos, and most of them suck.
For a better experience I would recommend you getting into the lore a bit, but don't go too deep, it's quite spacious :D
You did some actual good comments on the cinematic while watching, tho let me share some experience with you. People come to share the moment with you in this kind of videos, they want you to feel how amazing and extraordinary these cinematics are.
A good tone would be to just watch it silent and in awe, and only then to be revisiting great moments with comments :)
Can't tell you how true that is, but noone wants a cool moment to be ruined or missed by you.
There are about 3 hours of cinematics from Lol and then about an hour of top-notch cinematics from Blizzard for Wow and Diablo IV.
Keep up the good work, but remember, we are waiting! :D
If you want lore not necessarily a cinematic then I would recommend Necrit “league of legends story explained”
That little 1 second shot of the hand as Pantheon climbs is still blowing me away. It's funny how it's such a little thing but it really drives the quality home to me.
Exactly! Im questioning if this is someone's actual hand or not haha
Holy Lore Dump! I super appreciate this thanks!
not just volibear but ''The Volibear''
i think with Pantheon; Atreus was unwillingly chosen by the god of War to become an aspect, and they fought Aatrox, one of the Darkin. Aatrox stabbed Pantheon in the chest (note the scar on Pantheon's chest), killing the god, but through sheer willpower, the human Atreus survived. Pantheon has the aspects spear and shield, which help him fight, but it is his unshakeable will that makes him strong
when Pantheon (spartan guy) fought Leona (lady with sun themed sword and shield) she is the aspect of the sun and a member of the solari tribe, so when she hit his shield, and it looked like a solar flare, there is a specific reason for it.
Pantheon was fighting her because she was guarding the portal to the realm of the gods, and Pantheon wants to kill them all, so they cant meddle with humanity anymore and ruin lives like the god of war did to Atreus
also not 100% on all the lore, but Pantheon is one of my favorite characters, so i think i got most of it mostly correct
Which is when he picks his spear back up in a "I have finally found who I was looking for" kind of way
kaisa had to fight for survival while miraculously keeping her hair skin and makeup beautiful XDDDDDD
Thats awesome! Good creative take to really bring out those abilities!
The beauty of it, the abilities come from their lore. Its truly a masterpiece of a world they have created. I absolutely love the lore of Runeterra.
well that bear wasnt volibear tho, he was just summoning volibear
@@xlightninghawk6360 technically not even that but channeling his power
All League's champions abilities are just game-adapted versions of their real abilities in the lore. Many cinematics have shown such champion abilities. Here's the best list I could make off the top of my head.
Awaken: Draven [W], Sion [Q and R], Karma [W], Kennen [W and E], Akali [W and E], Yasuo [Q], Camille [W and E], and Jhin [E]. (I don't think I missed any?)
The Call: Pantheon [R], Olaf [Q], Sejuani [Q and E/R], Kai'sa [W?] (I might be confusing it with the Warriors 2020 one…).
A New Dawn:
Warriors 2020:
A Twist of Fate:
The Climb:
The Kin of Stained Blade:
All the Ruination cinematics, but I forgot which abilities are used 🥲.
Im with ya! What a great shot!
Thanks for this!
she is kinda the aspect too XD
all the close ups looks real especially the hand shot i thought they snuck in a real hand in there.
Some of those closeups gotta be live action right?? Like you are saying...that hand is crazy detailed!
I totally agree! A big part of me think this hand is somehow live action....its just so detailed!
The fact that you can see the blood under the nails when he puts his hand down is just so detailed
Hopefully opening cinematic of 2024 will be as good as "The Call" 🤞
P.S Spartan looking guy's name is Atreus, but he also known as Pantheon.
Hey thanks! I appreciate all the info....going to add these all to the list!
Thanks for the Recs! Im adding these to the list!
That sword going into the water was my fav scene too!!
So well done!
Nice yeah! Its just so good, and like I mentioned, they almost dont even need to add that much detail.....but it pays off! So good!
@@ChompStudio I mean you only see it for like 1 sec - so indeed. The guys there are fanatics and put in everything into these :D
So, let's talk a bit of the characters here, at least those i know stuff about
First we se Ornn, the goat-like demigod of the forge, on the Freljord, the snowy place.
(Purple place from where the things they fight come from)
Then we see Pantheon/Atreus, basically a man of absolute willpower that wields the power of gods, as he was a vessell of a god that took over his body, but during a fight against a Darkin (Big evil guy that doesn't appear here) the god inside him was slain, but the man survived, regaining control of his body and developing a hatred for gods.
Awesome thanks! Love all this info and lore! Appreciate it!
Just waitng for their MMO to explore this awesome lore!
Do not forget bristle the Sejuani's boar
He doesn't stick out much but you forgot Olaf, the Viking guy as described in the video who _tanks a falling glacier on his back_
@@TheJerbol didn't forget about him, but i didn't find him relevant enough, considering that all he does in this cinematic is tank half a mountain and kill a few bears, the average Olaf stuff
Hey thanks! I will definitely add these to the list! Thanks for the recs!
Pentakill even has 3 ablums up to date released.
the top videos are:
K/DA - popstars
K/DA - more
K/DA - villian
K/DA - the baddest
True Damage- giants (at 0.07 there is an Arcane easter egg - maybe you can spot it) - the song was released 2 years before Arcane premiered ;)
Pentakill - mortal reminder (please keep in mind the video is 6yrs old but still very fun and good for that time)
oh and as an Arcane fan you should definetly react to the Jinx theme song which got a music video made as well (9yrs orld).
Ill check them out! Thanks!
first video I've seen from your channel and I find your analysis very interesting, thank you for this video.
I love your reaction sir! It's so nice to see someone passionate about the details of animation and vfx and whatnot. Thanks for uploading!
I think Studio Fortiche did such a great job with Arcane thanks to their success making these cinematics.
I agree. We almost need to watch a bunch of Studio Fortiche work...that could be fun!
Leonidas name is Pantheon. The flare effect from the shield clash is symbolism, as the female warrior that appears is named Leona, and is the Aspect of the Sun.
Love these details! Thanks!
For the words first I ever heard from this man to be "Sweet bolo" is making me laugh uncontrollably.
Haha yes!
you should check out League of Legends cinematics "Awaken" and "Warriors" too
Sounds good to me! Both of these have been added to the list. Thanks!
Atreus however doesnt really care about it he has his pride as a human and he wins battles through his sheer willpower and the gods fear him for that cause he is a man who will not bow to them and is willing to fight them if need be
This is great lore info! Thanks!
Awesome thanks! Love hearing about the lore of all of these!
I have more on the list for sure!
you gotta react to more league stuff for sure!

@@ChompStudio yes to these two!!!! I'd leave Warriors for last though!
ooo alright cool! Ill do that thanks!
THAT is a reaction !
Ha! This cinematic was amazing!
I'll wait for the next league of legends reaction i suggest "Awaken"
You got it! Adding to the list. Thanks!
This is all great thanks! Ill check out the lore video next!
Another in the WH universe, "Victory" is incredible. The other recommendations I gave you've done already so here's hoping I don't realize this has been done as well.

Not enough coverage on the absolutely incredible soundtrack in breakdown… The rest was lovely ❤
The score is definitely amazing... agreed!

Such a great animation! We need to do more LOL stuff!
if you ever feel like you want to react to another League of Legends project, you should watch Rise or Gods. I would recommend Rise. They were music videos for the anthem of their world championship tournament and they tell the story of past champions. They're really really well done as well and more anime style and less hyper realistic.
I definitely want to! Thanks for the recommendations. Im going to add these to the list!

Leona is seen about to lose when Aurelion Sol, a massive star dragon that originally made the stars shoots down a few comets that hit Atreus/Pantheon
Olaf, simply known as the Berserker is a viking man who is a member of the Winter's Claw, a nomadic tribe in the Freljord which is split into several groups through "less mouths to feed" logic.
Yeeesss! No worries at all! Love the lore dumps that people come by with. Thanks so much for this!
WE GETTING OFF THE RIFT WITH THIS ONE BOIZ!!
Uh oh.....
League is known for their cinematics even for people that don't play the game. You should really check out the rest of them and maybe try to go in order because it will be like a cinematic movie.
Love this idea! What would be the correct order?
I know some fans has made cinematic league "movies" where they put all of them in order on YT@@ChompStudio
if you want to see them flex with cinematic I recommend the music video to KD/A Villain
but agree that is a great cinematic of riot there
Cool thanks! Ill check it out!
The spartan guy name is “Pantheon”. He basically strifes to climb the mountain to ascend.
Ahhh ok cool! This is great thanks!
i doubt that cuz hating the gods is his whole thing
Not accurate he already ascended before but wasn't given control of his body and so now he climbs to get back at the gods and aspects
Wont be going over the 2023 cinematic! 🫣
2023 cinematic? Wont be going over it? Tell me more.....
@@ChompStudio they scrapped the one they were working on bc it wasnt going to be done in time and instead put together a very sloppy last minute cinematic (its really bad by their standards)
bummer...I dont like hearing that. This one is amazing!
you should defnitly look up more cinamatics from league.
Sounds good! I have some on my list now....any you recommend?
@@ChompStudio probably Warrior 2022 i think. Awaken very good also. more lore wise is is Ryze call of power.
@ChompStudio another one that pretty much is a painting that moves. ANNIE her cinematic is amazing. New Fiddle is more horror ish
one of the best things about league of legends, is the lore, and all the characters back stories and environments, like going from bilgewater which is very pirate oriented, to freilord which is Vikings and the erzine, to more futuristic areas like piltover/zaun, all the way to ionia which is basically feudal japan. from memory most characters have sad or very interesting story's/lore, examples are amumu who is a mummy and a child who is cursed to be sad and alone for eternity. then there is kindred who was one beings but tore them self's apart into 2 beings lamb and a wolf, both if memory serves is basically the spirit realm grim reaper. from there we have as you call him lienitis, but his real name is pantheon, his dream was to be a baker but got thrown into war more or less and became way to powerful a warrior but with a kind heart who still wants to bake and not kill. the we have what is know as an anomaly known as shaco, he has 0 back story, and 0 lore, he is a killer jester that some how just exists for no reason and as i said he is an anomaly in this world. been playing the game since season 2 and i recommend anyone to look up all the lore even if you dont play, its personally the best lore and back story's I've seen in any game and there is so much, not just with the champs but even with the origins of there home lands
Wow this great! thanks for sharing all of this! Hopefully they can bring some of this to the level of Arcane.
Lore:
- Shaco is not in the lore.
Nitpicks:
- I wouldn't define Piltover/Zaun as "futuristic".
Spelling and Capitalization:
- it's Ursine, not "ezrine".
This is taken off of the league site as the exact lore in the words of riot games
Legend claims that Amumu is a lonely and melancholy soul from ancient Shurima, roaming the world in search of a friend. Doomed by an ancient curse to remain alone forever, his touch is death, his affection ruin. Those who claim to have seen him describe a living cadaver, small in stature and wrapped in creeping bandages. Amumu has inspired myths, songs, and folklore told and retold for generations-such that it is impossible
Also there is the fact he is also a yordle.
But it's bad practice to present it to someone new who is more likely to dip into new lore, which will only confuse them since you will be giving outdated information.
watch all the lol cinematics!
Lets do it!
plz do more react vids for league!
You got it! I have Warriors' and 'Awaken' on the list...anything else?
do the new league cinematic / ;like... all of them
Sounds good! Stop by tomorrow morning!
now you should review their newest 2023 cinematic 🤣🤣
oh no not briar 👣👣
@@conneryechout7143 I meant the season start 😭
Do you guys happen to have any specific links?
@@ChompStudio It was a joke, it's just that there is no new cinematic and lol fans are angry lmao, there will be a new one Jan next year hopefully
Check out some of Blizzard's cinematics for Diablo 4, Starcraft 2 and World of Warcraft
Hey thanks for the Recommendation. I may have 1, 2, or all of these coming up in the next couple of weeks.......
Hey Man U should check out some of the god of war ragnarok trailers/ gameplay cinematic’s think u would like how they look
Sounds good! I love GOW!
0:58 How're those faces or eyes "big" 🧐? They seem pretty nomal to me 🤔.
Could be right. On first viewing the earth bender girl's eye seems a little large...almost anime like....but I hear what you are saying. Could also just represent her being "young."
Riot Games is very good with cinematics and music.
Very nice! Ill take a look! Thanks!
Their best Video is Awaken. Take a peek.
Sounds good! Got it on the list!
SImilar cinematics WARRIORS - 2020 league of legends , AWAKEN 2019 league of legends .
I would HIGHLY recommend opening ceremony of 2019 league of legends world championship finals just so you understand what league is , its better then superbowl opening ceremonies 100%
HA I love this comment! Thanks for all the suggestions...adding these to the list!
I don't think you need much understanding of the characters or the lore to get what's going on here. However, one significant thing the cinematic does not convey is this:
Ornn hasn't forged a weapon in a thousand years. The fact that he is doing it now _really_ means shit's about to get real.
ha I love this! Thanks!
Oh awesome! Ill check it out! Thanks!
Nice reaction, but more importantly, are you planing to react on the best cinematic creator out there, Blizzard? :P Try some Diablo 4, Starcraft 2, Overwatch and WoW cinematics, you won't be disappointed.
Hey thanks for the comment. I totally agree with you. 1 or more of those suggestions might be coming out next week......
Is it... Video Game looking, Hyper Realistic, or Anime lol.
Yes.
0:41 The irony is that Arcane is actually completely disconnected from the League world (at least for now). The world of Arcane and the world of League of Legends are currently 2 clearly distinct universes even though they look identical at a first glance.
Oh interesting....I did not know this. Thanks!
well this comment didn't age well did it XD
Arcane series isn't such a good introduction to the world of League of Legends
For quite some time it wasn't even canon, they made it canonical now, but as "alternate reality canon" because it mismatches several eras of that world, for example Jinx and Vi should come from Zaun but in Arcane Zaun wasn't even formed yet, and portrays characters differently, for example Jayce in the main lore is kinda a giant douche
Modern LoL cinematics are more about the base/main lore, previously they weren't so much, the older ones were more about portraying the game as cool experience
The Call is one of the more lore-based cinematics, it even teases future events that are yet to come with that goat-demon character forging weapons because, as stated by somebody else, he hasn't forged in like a millenia and this is a call to war
Ahhh ok cool! This helps out. Thanks!
@@ChompStudio if I remember right now correctly, A Twist of Fate and A New Dawn cinematics, which should be the oldest ones, are most about how cool the game is
But you could see some familiar faces in there like the heavily armored lady that fought the spartan warrior in this one
Also, you could check out the character introduction cinematics like Fiddlesticks: Terror in Demacia, Warwick: The Wrath of Zaun, All That Will Ever Be
These are usually shorter ones, full of main lore, but also offer some interesting stuff about those champions
Sounds good! Adding to the list!
JUST DONT PLAY THE GAME!!!!! completely different from what you see here you will break your keyboard.
Uh oh....
These reaction vids seems forced and over the top for some reason
Indeed!
