@@Josiahx League makes the most insane cenimatics. You should watch Arcane, their series if you havent already. It is indeed very good. The second season is coming out in november
Also needs to watch "The Path: An Ionian Myth" and "Kin of the Stained Blade" (together, in that order, because the path gives context for what is going on in KotSB)
One thing I only just noticed, at 9:30 with the creature busting out of the ground by Kai'sa and Taliyah, is that Kai'sa's shoulder cannons go from relaxed pose to fully ready in just a few frames. When they're wandering around investigating, the cannons are in a relaxed position, but when they're attacked, her cannons are ready to go in a small fraction of a second. It goes along with her hyper-speed. However if you're focused on the creature busting out of the ground (a natural focus point), by the time you turn to look at the two women, Kai'sa is already ready to fight. It's something they didn't have to do, but it helps reinforce Kai'sa's reaction speed in those little subtle ways that you might, at best, only register unconsciously at first.
The way league cinematics can convey so much force and connect you to the characters in such a brief amount of time is masterful. As a kid it’s what drew me in to their game. In real life I was weak and going through hell, but for a few hours I could be something grand in their universe
Nice breakdown of the details put into the trailer again, I agree with what you said about going from right to left then reversing with the Ice shot near the middle of this one. As far as the lore of this one for you: This one's lore was mostly based around the Icy area of Runeterra (the name for the whole League of Legends world), this area is called the Freljord. The Viking looking warrior who tanked the ice falling onto him is called Olaf, the Women with the Boar is called Sejuani. These two and their tribes are allied, and the bears they are fighting against are no one important, however they are followers of one of the Freljordian Demi-Gods, Volibear, hence why they had the power of the storm on their side and they could influence the lightning. The Large gruff looking guy forging throughout the Cinematic is named Ornn, he's another of the Freljordian Demi-gods, however he almost always keeps to himself after forging a bond with a village of mortals only for them to be killed by some of Volibears Followers. Now for the Mountain Scene with the Spartan looking warrior who's name is Pantheon, and the people he is presumably fighting to get into the portal. The people are all warriors of the Lunari, a tribe who lives on Mount Targon, the largest mountain in Runeterra, and Leona, the Women with the Radiant Shield and Sword is their Leader. Both Leona and Pantheon are Imbued with the power of different Aspects, Celestial Beings which rarely inhabit people who make it to the top of Mount Targon, if their will is strong enough to hold on while they absorb the power of an aspect into them. Leona is the Aspect of the Sun and Pantheon is the Aspect of War. This is why Pantheon defeated the Solari warriors so easily, and how he survived getting hit by the meteor before launching himself back to the fight. The Rock thrower in the last scene is called Taliyah, and the purple one is called Kaisa. Kaisa flying down into the Void is quite a major story beat being added to the lore. She also ends up fighting Rek'sai, the largest monster to jump out of the hole at her so far.
I loved your breakdown of this one, especially your notes about Leona's magic when she came down and used her shield to hit Pantheon's. Leona is the aspect of the sun, so the loops of magic you described at 14:07 are inspired from solar plasma loops that actually occur on the sun. You can see them wrap around her sword some too. The details they put into their characters is just incredible. After watching your reaction to the Still Here trailer and now this one, you have a new subscriber. I'd highly recommend League of Legend's Awaken and Warriors trailers too.
Its incredibly how they can put so much meaning into just the cinematography. So many film makers and animators and all have reacted to this and nearly all of them ive seen perfectly understand how this video particularly was using movement and direction masterfully to give so much meaning and sense of what was happening. Just with a simple an idea as "characters move left to right"
This just makes me appreciate Riot's efforts in terms of how they make their cinematics especially when professionals comment on the small things that casual viewers would feel but can't explain. Would recommend a ton of league cinematics tbh especially my favorite one Fiddlesticks Terror in Demacia.
Great breakdown, a couple of cool details, the "shadowy" bear is a god known as vollibear, and as humans excessively worship him their bodies contort into beasts resembling him. the reason the explosion has those loops is because the lady with the shield "Leona" is the Aspect of the sun, and those resemble solar flares.
13:00 the bear in the shadow is a god while the one we see in the scene is his follower - this god is who they’re truly facing. You can see him again if you look to the sky in 18:10
Brilliantly detailed reaction, also a fun fact about the story shown, Ornn (the blacksmith) is a forge God creating the toughest and most durable weapons known to man. However he stopped forging years ago, thus him forging weapons again in this trailer gives an inclination of a great event like a war building up, what fits with the rest of the music video
I love watching pros react to these cinematics every one points out a small detail I never would have noticed. Awaken, Warriors, KDA Popstars, KDA Villian, Get Jinxed, and Heartsteel Paranoia. And when you ready for the masterclass, ARCANE.
13:58 this is Leona, who happens to be embued with the fire of the sun. Very cool they made those sparks look like the cornoral plasma ejections from the sun.
Champions in order of appearance: Ornn, Sejuani, Taliyah, Kai'Sa, Pantheon, Olaf, Rek'Sai, Volibear, Leona. Locations: Ornn's Forge, Howling Abyss, Shurima, and Mt. Targon.
I know im very, VERY late to the party, but here's the thing: With everything Riot is up to, their Animations team and and Cinematics are top notch. If i take 5 frames from this video i could loredump you for an hour straight😂
Please do the League Cinematic 'Warriors' from year 2020. Then you have completed the holy trinity 🙏 Edit: My bad, there is a League cinematic called "Awaken" as well that is worth a watch. I can guarantee you will love it 😊
Well, he definitely has to watch the League of Legends "Awaken" video now.
And warriors (2020) probably
Oooh. Adding to my list! Thank you! Truly loving these!

Why is the video so jittery? It’s playing at like 30fps
@@GetDougDimmadomed I don’t know. This one got captured like this. But I didn’t want to have to re-record the entire thing. Sorry!
