I like the concept of these. It would be a maintenance nightmare especially for the ones that do not have detachable trailers. Keep an extra bag full of wheel bearings in your glovebox.
The big thing for me though is how many of these are just boats that can strap on to a trailer base- that's not an amphibious vehicle at all, that's what you do to tow a normal boat!
Nice if you have a lot of money to spend on something on a small trailer that wishes it was a boat. Can be a little enjoyable a few times but pray the wind does not pick up. It will be pushed with the wind way far away or to the shoreline it blows to. Not getting back until the wind dies unless the wind chop takes it down.
@@MustSeeTech You can hope but a boat that can catch wind that is not good for wind chop with a small motor can not escape that situation. The owner must be aware to avoid this situation that is common to happen many places.
Are these licenses for a rv or a boat and by its a boat is it coast guard pass and on the trailer is it rv plate and do need the water rights sticker and number ya alot of questions
If you watch really carefully.... you MIGHT see some interesting boat/camper type vessels AND some extra fine ladies adorned this video, very nice! Please keep 'em coming.......👍💯
I think this is a brilliant idea. Hope to see more options available in North America in the future. Looks like Land and Sea RV are already out of business. :(
Who said that you cant have a boat and a camper in one package? These campers have amphibious capabilities to have the most amazing vacations both on land and water! Share your thoughts about this solution for the fans of van life in the comments below
Hi, Daniel. Thanks for visiting the channel. I think that Terrawind and Land and Sea RV are US-made so they are sold in the US. The rest are sold in Germany, Australia, and Japan (depending on the model)
I had this exact same idea years ago, but towing a barge large enough to put your motorhome/RV on top of doesn't seem feasible. It would be a great business on calm waterways and lakes, if the distance between the drive mechanism and the front wheel controls for the rudder(s) was adjustable, so it could accommodate different wheelbase motorhomes/RV's. I could see a whole armada of these barges moored off shore in some large lake, or lazy river, and brought to the loading ramp to have each motorhome/RV driven on to it by the business operator, then turned over to the owner of the motorhome/RV, to use as their personal houseboat for a week, or weekend. Would be a great business model, with no cleaning staff needed for the houseboat.
I think the basic concept of amphibious caravans is good. There certainly is room in the British inland waterways market for such a vehicle that can double up as a caravan that you can take home to save mooring fees. There have been attempts to promote such vehicles in the 1960's and 70's but their designs didn't capture the public's imagination. Personally I designed and built 'Newt 111' cycle boat, a human powered canal boat (also on UA-cam) but it lacks amphibious abilities but is carbon neutral and cheap to operate. We certainly need to move away from combustion engines.
Okay my 30 ft RV might not float(well maybe it does but I think that would ruin it) but it sleeps 7 people. Also, since many didn't ride around on a "boat trailer", tires in water beyond the launch ramp isn't practical, get a log snag stabbing your tire and now you got a flat tire...on the lake or River. Maybe European waterways are free of snags and don't have to worry about it. That said, some of those are perfect for weekend get aways. But the price of a lot of those, you can buy a pontoon boat in the USA and you can sleep on those as well.
Hi, Izzi. Thanks for your comment. You are probably right, the licensing requirements do depends on your local laws. The video was released a while ago, so off the top of my head, I can't remember if I was talking about a specific state/country.
@@MustSeeTech Sure, but for 50 000-100 000 dollars, i could literally buy a catamaran, which can sail across the entire world, and also serves as permanent homes for multiple people. :P
What a scam the first one isn't even worth 10 grand but they're selling it for $20,000 and the second one isn't worth $20,000 but they're selling it for $95,000
You just have a modification for the wheels that you had on your paddles and you have a crank on the inside. That way you don't kill the nursery section of the lake which is the top two feet which is where all the babies and the ecosystem are so you're just basically killing the ecosystem with an outdoor motor. It is classified as an invasion if people want to get rid of it.
Notice the demonstration is in perfectly calm water. I would not jeopardize my family's safety in these death traps. Never get on a vessel not designed by a marine architect and one that has a proven record of sustainable use safely in open waters. You only have one life don't be foolish. The manufacturers only care about a profit not your loved ones. That sleek looking boxy one caught in high winds and choppy seas will roll like a beachball with a loss of power. Just one of the scenarios that must be taken into account. Sudden stroms show no mercy to the inexperienced and unprepared novice.
Mr. Wonky Don't let an old pic mislead you. I'm a retired master mariner and know the awesome destructive power of wind, waves and currents have on vessels even when they are tied up to a dock. What's your point? I expressed my opinion take that on instead asking asinine questions.
Hi, sly pen. Thanks for expressing your concerns. You have a point of course, but I think most of these are not designed for open see and instead can be used safely on lakes

My back yard is one of the biggest lakes in British Columbia so that Caraboat would be a lot of fun
the "boat van" and sealander camper is the best for your money imo but the caravan boat and caraboat is the best quality
Thanks for watching and sharing, Lauren
I want to see someone put the boat ack on the hitch. I imagine it to be tricky

$$$$....☝☝🤑
Can I order this one and have it shipped to the USA address
Hi, Kenneth. You would need to contact the manufacturer to find out
Can I buy in Sydney Australia?

"no license required" i have to question this. a canoe must be licensed in my state, as do all trailers that are towed by another vehicle.

In theory, minibig can be moved in what?
Does it have air condition
Hi, Erin. I am not sure. This video was released a while ago. What model are you interested in?
On the first one, how would you use oars?
Probably stand on the back and just push back lol
Number 7 is 100000 thousand dollars! That’s crazy, do you know what kind of boat you can get for that price? A lot more boat than that thing!
Hi, Jimmy. I am open to suggestions. Do know any other boat models that can double as campers?
For these prices you can buy an RV and Boat for less money.
Hi, Todd. You are probably right, but don't you think the camper-boat hybrid might be fun?

Camper boat hell yeah
Which one did you like?
The most surprising thing about this video is that a Prius can tow a camper.
I would like to see a see 150 hp mercury optimax on the back of the first one!
Muy linda , un poco mas pequeña que boyita 350 de argentina, saludos
It’s a outboard motor not a outdoor motor, where is this robot from!
This song is rad
Does all the price in usd?
Hi, yes, they are in USD
90 thousand dollars. I'm going to buy 2 of them.
Es una copia de la boyita Argentina que lamentablemente se dejó de fabricar además la 350 era más cómoda y estéticamente más linda
I still want a liveable RV I can drive straight into the water. Without it sinking of course.

Hi, thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out

6 people in number 4? No way!!!
