During one of the adventures(?) on Titan we are sent to retrieve a power core of some kind, and in the chamber, witness a Fallen and Hive Knight fighting each other. The alternative ending for this, opposed to killing both of the enemies is, so long as we just kill the hive knight, the fallen does not engage us, says a few things, and leaves us with unfettered access to the power core. The fallen is wearing the yellow of the house of kings. Potentially a tie in with this hypothesis in the Telesto lore tab of engineering reinforcements for the prison of elders and "reintegration." possibly hunting down sufficient power resources for the prison /reef and when confronted by our guardian, whom their new leader has told them not to interfere with because he's dealt with us in D1, bows out because of standing orders and an enemy of my enemy directive, coupled with an added desire for secrecy and clandestine scavenging. This option would go some way to explaining the fallen markings on the ship, as it insinuates a time line where Kings has been commandeered by the Prince, and one could explain the fact our ghost exclaims the ship to be the prince's by saying that he's constructed a fleet and they ALL belong to him... But! Should the ship really be his, it only marginally fits that most likely of hypothetical time lines I've just mentioned... /2 cents.

Ideally IMO the order of events should be as follows: 1) Uldren crash landed on Mars after fighting Oryx 2) He went on with his escapades across the system 3) He was captured and subsequently took over the House of Kings 4) They got into a Skirmish with the Red Legion as they advanced towards us 5) Uldren crash lands on Mars AGAIN (in a cave this time) 6) He's rescued by Petra & an Awoken patrol also fighting the Red Legion 7) They re-connect, Uldren is pronounced the first ever Awoken King 8) They are currently working on integrating the Fallen House of Kings for Uldren much like how Mara had the Wolves 9) ??? 10) VARIKSSS IS PLEASSSED, YESSS?
The main game is based around cabal, the dlc has been based around vex and hive, so surely it's only natural we get a fallen themed expansion, which works well with the reef

Something to consider for hope's sake: that second Grimoire card talks about how Uldren travelled to many different planets *and again* - again to Mars and the other planets in the listed order (my reading, obviously). It could have been part of his plan to lure out the House of Kings to that particular part of Mars; afterall, there is a Lost Sector there, a place of particular interest even to a Guardian not to mention the other races/Rasputin who've all got elements in that sector. It's a bit of strange phrasing so far as conversational English goes but it does work from a grammatical/syntactical standpoint. Either way, very excited for your future breakdown of Comet 1!

I was waiting for this video after I saw the ship! Thanks for delving in to this! I didn't even remember that cut scene with the details on the battle against The Dreadnaught. I just remembered the shorter version that focused on the Dreadnaught's main weapon charging and Mara Sov passing out. I really hope she is alive and well (I wasn't quite clear on that even after this video, it sounded like she might be?).
Im not sure why so many people "speculated" that Uldren died in the attack against Oryx... @ 7:04 you see a fleet of ships avoid the blast. The ships were STILL intact... Not only that, you "don't" see Uldren fade as if he was hit by the blast. His yell was more then likely a realization that his sister died in the blast. Even Byf speculated that he died in this video, but even during the taken king I noticed these couple of hints. Im glad he replayed this vid because I never thought he was dead.
Uldren’s stroy should be tidied up in one of the Mars comics. It’d be so cool to see his adventure from the first crash to an intriguing conclusion that hints at our future involvement with him.
I would ABSOLUTELY love more Reef content. Also what about the House of Judgment banner in Trostland, and finally the Fallen Captain that gives us the Methane reactor if we kill the Hive Knight. This all has to be related somehow.
Ehhhhh I going to be honest a little bit of over-analyzing and post-CoO lore continuity paranoia here with the ships, honestly I think the theory with him getting captured after crashing for the second time seems to be what the writers intended to learn toward, I don't think Vicarious (the guys who worked on this DLC) would make such a mistake knowingly... I'm more bugged by the fact that it's in a bloody cave and it doesn't seem like it should have gotten in there in the first place.
I would love to see the Prick... I mean Prince... come back as the main NPC or even the main villain. Maybe he blames the Guardians for drawing Oryx to the system, resulting in the death of his sister? He seemed pretty damn pissed last time we saw him, I'll bet he's pretty unstable at this point. I really don't like how Bungie seems to be rewriting the lore to fit with the expansions they clearly already had in mind at the beginning, instead of fitting new expansions to established lore. That "Grimoire is just folklore" comment is really starting to make more sense now, and not in a good way.
Jonathan Parker They haven't really "rewritten" lore with Uldren. His ship in the lost sector has fallen insignia on it. This implies it was after his run in with the house of kings on earth. Besides, how else would he get to earth, venus, and back to mars without it?
That could be true, but that also could mean that the Awoken had Fallen insignia on their ships from when they fought with the Wolves. No way to be sure until we get this potential expansion.

you know, this theory, coupled with the fact that the house of dusk is an amalgamation of all the houses, raises some interesting possibilities with the kellship of dusk, which is yet unknown to us.
I may be completely off base here, or not have everything 100% correct, but here goes my dive into the lore rabbit hole. The emblem "Ikelos Imperative" refers to the new warmind weapons obviously, but in the description of the emblem, it says "Tracks the number of Seraph weapons collected". Seraph, as in, the Seven Seraphs, who determined where Rasputin would be built, and never actually talked about in game until now. Which brings up the unused room in original Destiny that's underneath Rasputin's core, in Rasputin's Bunker (the entrance to said bunker in concept art shows the Seven Seraph's emblem, but in game is the warmind emblem). The unused room contains namely seven chairs in the back (which the very last on the right is lit up), operating tables on the left, and a control panel in the center. Now, what ties all of this together (and which I have no real amount of evidence for, since I'm no lore master) is the theory that, like in Terminator: Genesis, the warmind Rasputin is not bound to a central core located on a planet, but is in fact an Exo. The unused room, would've been where his Exo bodies may have been created, stored, and/or where his consciousness was downloaded into the Exo bodies. Also, that begs the question of if the Ikelos, or Seraph, weapons were intended for the guardians, or Rasputin himself.
i was recently messing around on nessis and jumped up to scan the yellow data lattice thing and saw it, and some of the stuff around it was a reference to the osirus dlc. the ghost said after scanning it (from memory) "i was able to connect for two cycles before it booted me. all i got was something about endless trees... or forest. wierd" there was also a triangle shaped barrier blocking a triangle shaped door and a portal that was powered somehow but would not take you anywhere. i saw some posts from last year wondering what it was but nothing recently or after osirus dlc. i thought it was pretty cool
Oh Byf, ye have little faith. Love your Lore Videos! The ship Prince Uldren was flying during the Oryx battle was a Reef designed ship like the Hildian Seeker. The ship in in the cavern near Glacial Drift is a Fallen design. So two different ships. Obviously, Prince Uldren had a few adventures between the two crashes. Also, Bungie wouldn't obviously place the fallen ship on Mars without paying it off in the future. Much like leaving the diaries of Ana Bray hidden in the tower or the Arecibo mission that foreshadows Warmind.
Pretty certain this is all after the fact. Also only just recently realized that ghost will always look in the direction of a scannable if one is nearby when you pull him out kinda helpful.
Now that you mentioned it, Byf maybe you could help explain the opening and ending to the Taken King DLC in Destiny 1; Or maybe point to a video you might have made discussing the topic of how those two scenes might have some connection or might lead to the reef expansion or the possible Savathun expansion.

It is going to be in the Reef; in one of the Weblore that Bungie recently posted before Warmind, Zavala said Cayde was in the Prison of Elders. If Ikora was Curse of Osiris; Zavala in Warmind; then naturally Cayde is in this year's Fall Expansion
Grimoire also says that Uldren left little "breadcrumbs" around the solar system for those searching for him so this ship could be one of those said breadcrumbs to confuse those searching for him
I'm watching this way past Forsaken, and it makes a lot of sense. Bungie did a good when they foreshadowed forsaken even before it was even announced. You mentioned something about this system is "forsaken" as well as a kell that he aligned himself with being the Fanatic. You done good bungie as well as you Byf.
Some are known for acts of great heroism and bravery, some are know for their cunning and battle strategy, and some... are known for their sacrfices. But this man, this "Awoken Prince". Is known only for a one things... being able to crash a ship not only once but twice. On the same planet and the second time, into a cave inside a glacier.
*Raises hand* Hi, W-What if that ship is from when Uldren was looking for the Black Garden? I know, a very thinly veiled theory. But Ghost doesn't specify WHAT Fallen insignia it is. It might be Kings, but a House of Wolves insignia would root it in the past sometime after the Reef Wars but before Skolas' uprising. Alongside that, (correct me if I'm wrong) we don't have a solid time frame for when Uldren found the Black Garden, soooo here's my thinly veiled head-canon in an attempt to un-Fall of Osiris... This. - Uldren searches for the Black Garden sometime after the Reef War, - Clues lead him to Mars where he flys in low orbit scanning for anything unusual, - Rasputin, not knowing Uldren's intentions, shoots him down over the Hellas Basin, - Ship crashes through the Ice into a cave system, - Uldren abandons the ship and escapes the caves, - Uldren discovers pieces of strewn Bray tech and uses it to build a SOS beacon (Super head-canon bit incoming... What if Uldren made his Crow drones out of Bray tech?!?!) - Uldren gets picked up after wandering for a while and continues his search for the Black Garden.
Btw by last of his kind, he means the first of his kind the fanatic the first scorn the yellow cloak is also something that the fanatic dawns in the forsaken dlc.
I mean a possible solution is that during the make-shift repair it came either too close to Rasputin and got shit down or the repairs failed and he was forced to crash land. I just believe that the fact its so close to Rasputin cannot be a coincidence and the relative closeness of the crashes could indicate minimal air time.
From the start of D2 I thought the unspoken thing with the Fallen was that they were all burning their former house flags and all aligned with Uldren now. Their mostly purple motif signifying unity with the brother of the Queen. The Dregs all took off their caps and have started regrowing appendages, those moments of cooperation between Fallen and Guardians in certain adventures. I think Bungie have whole backstory going on. But you're right Byf, they haven't shown their hand.
I think the simplest explanation is in the grimoire itself. Uldren orders the Crows to repair the ship; that's what they do. He takes the ship around the system, somehow ends up back on/near Mars, gets in some kind of trouble and the ship crashes again. Idk why he wouldn't just have it repaired again at this point but maybe it was beyond repair after a long journey or he was rescued or had other ships traveling with him which made his ship acceptable loses at the time. But I think you're worrying too much about it honestly, which I'm glad for don't get me wrong. You're one of the few giving us lore seekers a voice so you should care about the small things. In this case I just think the simplest explanation could be the correct one.
Taken King was so good. Seeing the clip brought back fond memories. Oryx was such a great character and imo the best villain. He has an epic story and I was hoping we would get a taste of that again with Warmind. Sadly they greatly underutilized Nokris and Xol.
Here’s the issue I have every time someone brings up the geography thing. His CROWS got to working on repairs for the ship, he then flew his ship, around the solar system, looking for the “something lost”, then he (more than likely) found it and went to Mars. It was there that he was shot down over Hellas Basin. Keep in mind that he didn’t have the Fallen insignia on his ship during the attack on the Dreadnaught. It wasn’t until after that he took over the House of Kings. That would explain the Fallen insignia.
That would be nice, expanding the Fallen Lore would defiantly be a welcoming change. Especially if it does come with a Fallen Raid, imagine a Kings fall style fallen themed raid, That would be enough to draw me back into the Game.
I think there could possibly be Ahamkara in the fall expansion, being in the Prison of Elders, as the lore tabs for the new Ahamkara exotics in Warmind reference a "Prison" (with a capital letter, implying it as part of a proper title), and it's already seeming likely to take place in the reef. Plus, Bungie doesn't seem to be shying away from bringing in big name lore characters, namely Xol and Nokris.
Byf in card 2 it mentions travelling to Venus then to Mercury then back again, at this point the fallen probably found him and shot him down then left a mark on his ship and took him away to the cosmodrome. That's the best I can think of that links it all together
Yo Byf. Remember how after he crashed he ventured from Mars to Venus and back and so forth. Plus the ship we find has a Fallen mark on it, where he would have gotten it after the crash. So obviously he crashed there after the events of Oryx and that first crash.

I would ABSOLUTELY love more Reef content. Also what about the House of Judgment banner in Trostland, and finally the Fallen Captain that gives us the Methane reactor if we kill the Hive Knight. This all has to be related somehow.
Ehhhhh I going to be honest a little bit of over-analyzing and post-CoO lore continuity paranoia here with the ships, honestly I think the theory with him getting captured after crashing for the second time seems to be what the writers intended to learn toward, I don't think Vicarious (the guys who worked on this DLC) would make such a mistake knowingly... I'm more bugged by the fact that it's in a bloody cave and it doesn't seem like it should have gotten in there in the first place.

I would love to see the Prick... I mean Prince... come back as the main NPC or even the main villain. Maybe he blames the Guardians for drawing Oryx to the system, resulting in the death of his sister? He seemed pretty damn pissed last time we saw him, I'll bet he's pretty unstable at this point. I really don't like how Bungie seems to be rewriting the lore to fit with the expansions they clearly already had in mind at the beginning, instead of fitting new expansions to established lore. That "Grimoire is just folklore" comment is really starting to make more sense now, and not in a good way.

Jonathan Parker They haven't really "rewritten" lore with Uldren. His ship in the lost sector has fallen insignia on it. This implies it was after his run in with the house of kings on earth. Besides, how else would he get to earth, venus, and back to mars without it?
That could be true, but that also could mean that the Awoken had Fallen insignia on their ships from when they fought with the Wolves. No way to be sure until we get this potential expansion.

I'm just really excited for a Taken King size expansion for the Fallen. Always thought they were super neat, and the Enemy of my Enemy quest on Titan only emphasizes that feeling.
you know, this theory, coupled with the fact that the house of dusk is an amalgamation of all the houses, raises some interesting possibilities with the kellship of dusk, which is yet unknown to us.
I may be completely off base here, or not have everything 100% correct, but here goes my dive into the lore rabbit hole. The emblem "Ikelos Imperative" refers to the new warmind weapons obviously, but in the description of the emblem, it says "Tracks the number of Seraph weapons collected". Seraph, as in, the Seven Seraphs, who determined where Rasputin would be built, and never actually talked about in game until now. Which brings up the unused room in original Destiny that's underneath Rasputin's core, in Rasputin's Bunker (the entrance to said bunker in concept art shows the Seven Seraph's emblem, but in game is the warmind emblem). The unused room contains namely seven chairs in the back (which the very last on the right is lit up), operating tables on the left, and a control panel in the center. Now, what ties all of this together (and which I have no real amount of evidence for, since I'm no lore master) is the theory that, like in Terminator: Genesis, the warmind Rasputin is not bound to a central core located on a planet, but is in fact an Exo. The unused room, would've been where his Exo bodies may have been created, stored, and/or where his consciousness was downloaded into the Exo bodies. Also, that begs the question of if the Ikelos, or Seraph, weapons were intended for the guardians, or Rasputin himself.
i was recently messing around on nessis and jumped up to scan the yellow data lattice thing and saw it, and some of the stuff around it was a reference to the osirus dlc. the ghost said after scanning it (from memory) "i was able to connect for two cycles before it booted me. all i got was something about endless trees... or forest. wierd" there was also a triangle shaped barrier blocking a triangle shaped door and a portal that was powered somehow but would not take you anywhere. i saw some posts from last year wondering what it was but nothing recently or after osirus dlc. i thought it was pretty cool
Oh Byf, ye have little faith. Love your Lore Videos! The ship Prince Uldren was flying during the Oryx battle was a Reef designed ship like the Hildian Seeker. The ship in in the cavern near Glacial Drift is a Fallen design. So two different ships. Obviously, Prince Uldren had a few adventures between the two crashes. Also, Bungie wouldn't obviously place the fallen ship on Mars without paying it off in the future. Much like leaving the diaries of Ana Bray hidden in the tower or the Arecibo mission that foreshadows Warmind.

Pretty certain this is all after the fact. Also only just recently realized that ghost will always look in the direction of a scannable if one is nearby when you pull him out kinda helpful.
Now that you mentioned it, Byf maybe you could help explain the opening and ending to the Taken King DLC in Destiny 1; Or maybe point to a video you might have made discussing the topic of how those two scenes might have some connection or might lead to the reef expansion or the possible Savathun expansion.

It is going to be in the Reef; in one of the Weblore that Bungie recently posted before Warmind, Zavala said Cayde was in the Prison of Elders. If Ikora was Curse of Osiris; Zavala in Warmind; then naturally Cayde is in this year's Fall Expansion
Grimoire also says that Uldren left little "breadcrumbs" around the solar system for those searching for him so this ship could be one of those said breadcrumbs to confuse those searching for him

I'm watching this way past Forsaken, and it makes a lot of sense. Bungie did a good when they foreshadowed forsaken even before it was even announced. You mentioned something about this system is "forsaken" as well as a kell that he aligned himself with being the Fanatic. You done good bungie as well as you Byf.
Some are known for acts of great heroism and bravery, some are know for their cunning and battle strategy, and some... are known for their sacrfices. But this man, this "Awoken Prince". Is known only for a one things... being able to crash a ship not only once but twice. On the same planet and the second time, into a cave inside a glacier.

*Raises hand* Hi, W-What if that ship is from when Uldren was looking for the Black Garden? I know, a very thinly veiled theory. But Ghost doesn't specify WHAT Fallen insignia it is. It might be Kings, but a House of Wolves insignia would root it in the past sometime after the Reef Wars but before Skolas' uprising. Alongside that, (correct me if I'm wrong) we don't have a solid time frame for when Uldren found the Black Garden, soooo here's my thinly veiled head-canon in an attempt to un-Fall of Osiris... This.
- Uldren searches for the Black Garden sometime after the Reef War,
- Clues lead him to Mars where he flys in low orbit scanning for anything unusual,
- Rasputin, not knowing Uldren's intentions, shoots him down over the Hellas Basin,
- Ship crashes through the Ice into a cave system,
- Uldren abandons the ship and escapes the caves,
- Uldren discovers pieces of strewn Bray tech and uses it to build a SOS beacon
(Super head-canon bit incoming... What if Uldren made his Crow drones out of Bray tech?!?!)
- Uldren gets picked up after wandering for a while and continues his search for the Black Garden.
I think we need more interaction with the Reefborn Awoken. They’re such a great and underutilized part of Destiny’s universe.
Btw by last of his kind, he means the first of his kind the fanatic the first scorn the yellow cloak is also something that the fanatic dawns in the forsaken dlc.
I mean a possible solution is that during the make-shift repair it came either too close to Rasputin and got shit down or the repairs failed and he was forced to crash land. I just believe that the fact its so close to Rasputin cannot be a coincidence and the relative closeness of the crashes could indicate minimal air time.
From the start of D2 I thought the unspoken thing with the Fallen was that they were all burning their former house flags and all aligned with Uldren now. Their mostly purple motif signifying unity with the brother of the Queen. The Dregs all took off their caps and have started regrowing appendages, those moments of cooperation between Fallen and Guardians in certain adventures. I think Bungie have whole backstory going on. But you're right Byf, they haven't shown their hand.

I think the simplest explanation is in the grimoire itself. Uldren orders the Crows to repair the ship; that's what they do. He takes the ship around the system, somehow ends up back on/near Mars, gets in some kind of trouble and the ship crashes again. Idk why he wouldn't just have it repaired again at this point but maybe it was beyond repair after a long journey or he was rescued or had other ships traveling with him which made his ship acceptable loses at the time. But I think you're worrying too much about it honestly, which I'm glad for don't get me wrong. You're one of the few giving us lore seekers a voice so you should care about the small things. In this case I just think the simplest explanation could be the correct one.
Taken King was so good. Seeing the clip brought back fond memories. Oryx was such a great character and imo the best villain. He has an epic story and I was hoping we would get a taste of that again with Warmind. Sadly they greatly underutilized Nokris and Xol.

Here’s the issue I have every time someone brings up the geography thing. His CROWS got to working on repairs for the ship, he then flew his ship, around the solar system, looking for the “something lost”, then he (more than likely) found it and went to Mars. It was there that he was shot down over Hellas Basin.
Keep in mind that he didn’t have the Fallen insignia on his ship during the attack on the Dreadnaught. It wasn’t until after that he took over the House of Kings. That would explain the Fallen insignia.
That would be nice, expanding the Fallen Lore would defiantly be a welcoming change. Especially if it does come with a Fallen Raid, imagine a Kings fall style fallen themed raid, That would be enough to draw me back into the Game.
I think there could possibly be Ahamkara in the fall expansion, being in the Prison of Elders, as the lore tabs for the new Ahamkara exotics in Warmind reference a "Prison" (with a capital letter, implying it as part of a proper title), and it's already seeming likely to take place in the reef. Plus, Bungie doesn't seem to be shying away from bringing in big name lore characters, namely Xol and Nokris.
Byf in card 2 it mentions travelling to Venus then to Mercury then back again, at this point the fallen probably found him and shot him down then left a mark on his ship and took him away to the cosmodrome. That's the best I can think of that links it all together

Yo Byf. Remember how after he crashed he ventured from Mars to Venus and back and so forth. Plus the ship we find has a Fallen mark on it, where he would have gotten it after the crash. So obviously he crashed there after the events of Oryx and that first crash.
