I'm 100+ videos into your lore playlist and had no idea that this game was this deep. Just the info im getting on Ana Brey from this video is mind blowing. Never realized that Guardians lost their memories so for Ana to get lucky (or steal someone else's identity...which could make for an even crazier strory), is deep. So very glad that you are doing Destiny (2) Lore videos again. As much as I'm also subscribed to some other Destiny channels, yours have always been the best and I have really missed your content.
(I don't have Monster Hunter, etc and I don't watch videos about other games)
I do want to say that I have been disappointed and at times angry at SO many content providers saying Destiny 2 is broken, it's dead, good riddance etc.
Yes Bungie and Activision have made some mistakes, some quite bad, but I haven't stopped playing and I have NOT stopped enjoying the game.
Just to set the record straight I'm not some pre-teen Destiny fanboy. I'm 53 years old and I've been gaming for the best part of 4 decades.
I played the very early video game machines (yes Space Invaders amongst them), I played the 8 bit graphic computers, my first PC was a monocolour card and monitor, and I have played on pretty much most platforms between then and now.
What I am REALLY pleased about is that everyone .... EVERYONE .... seems to be not only interested but actually excited by the new Warmind DLC, now only days away.
Yes I'm sure there will be complaints, some people can do nothing but complain, but I think (I hope!) that Warmind will be the DLC that we all hoped Osirus would be.

Interesting theory, I think the fact that Willa Bray was experimenting on humans supports this.. perhaps Clovis Bray was seeking to somehow fuse human consciousness with machines, and they succeeded with the Warminds, who were actually humans significant to the company (such as Clovis Bray himself), that chose to give up their humanity to protect the rest of the human race as the Warminds. The quote about maps seems to support this as well-- as he says, what they do at Clovis Bray defies boundaries. Perhaps he meant defying the boundaries of humanity, by attempting to turn humans into machines similar to the Vex.
The first page of the comic, where Rasputin is seemingly talking to himself about Ana, also seems to support this, since he talks as if he once had a personal relationship with Ana.

The only thing that upsets me, is that this content might be great! While CoO with the man Osiris himself was completely shit. I feel robbed of the great Warlock Osiris's true power and story. While this story looks promising (maybe it's crap too, but with Hive and Worm God's and under ice facilities? Doubt it.) It doesn't seem fair in comparison. I feel cheated almost. Redo on CoO! Lol.

Would be willing to bet that just about every guardian, past and present, would jump at the chance of having the Osiris storyline reworked/rewritten. At the very least to give the most infamous guardian, and not to forget Sagira, a story with the depth and impact that they deserve.

I find the lore of Destiny far more enjoyable than the lame game Destiny is in itself. Just find ways to implement the lore into the game and while keeping things fun, I might jump back in. Until then...VIVA LA PANDORA!!!

You overlooked Cayde being resurrected with his journal. You can find pages of it in his chests. You also overlooked Exo Guardians shooting themselves in the head to shake loose memories.
As for S.I.V.A, everything that I have heard about it indicates that it couldn't be ultimately controlled. And that Rasputin was not controlling it but keeping it locked up so that it could not infect everything like a disease. Which is why he fought so hard to stop the Iron Lords from reaching it. The human test results with all of the subjects loosing control of themselves would be an example of a lack of total control and what happened to the last Iron Lords to reach the vault and the Plague Lands being an example of it's cancerous nature.
On a personal note, Rasputin seems to want to protect humanity and has in small compounding ways like firing Warsats on the Cabal on Mars and giving Guardians weapons designs. Yet, I think that he wants to help humanity on his terms and his terms alone. He doesn't want to be asked, he wants to offer.

I remember in your book of sorrows lore videos you said they were almost one in the same, the artwork even depicted them as dragons. I was just curious what your thoughts were.

Back in destiny 1, in some mission, ghost says that Rasputin's doors have been accessed for over hundreds of years with the SAME SET OF EYES. In the Warmind Trailer, Ana has mechanical eyes.......THAT DONT AGE
Byf, I don't know if you read anything on this before or herd of it at all. What if Elsie Bray was The exo stranger? The Bray family was known for creating exos and all we really know about Elsie is that she disappeared. So what if there is a chance that The exo stranger was Ana's sister Elsie.

When you talked about how they don't remember their past, does that mean they don't remember anything upon the initial resurrection when your ghost first finds you? Does that include every death afterwards that follows after being resurrected or do they retain the memories they gain after each death? It confuses me at times by how vague some of this is.
"Initially comatose before suddenly breaking out into song and dance." How is this description of a test subject remotely different from literally all Guardians in Destiny who aren't called Eris Morn?

What I am curious about is whether or not this “Ana Bray” actually is in reality another Bray family member who due the memory wipe most Guardians seem to suffer from has a case of mistaken identity (Maybe she’s in fact, Willa or Elsey Bray)?
I dunno I think it would be a neat twist if one of the discoveries Ana made was that she wasn’t who she thought she was, but someone else related to who she thought she was.
I find that rather unlikely.
She apparently revived with an ID card on or very close to her corpse. Unless she revived out of a pile of corpses, it's to be reasoned that it's hers. Other explanations are possible - such as that she took the ID card off the real Ana Bray just before her own death - but rather unlikely. Though I admit, game writers do have an annoying habit of doing ass-pulls like this...
Remember, Ana dug dep into her past. And a lot of Clovis Bray data has ben found. Chances are, if this Ana Bray isn't the real one, she'd have come across some evidence of this.
Like a file with employees and photographs. Or a news article with a photo of the Bray family. Given how big Clovis Bray was, there have to be all kind of articles about him and his kin.
Bird_Dog Bird_Dog Bird_Dog The idea I had in mind is that she knows of her name and identity (which may be misleading) because that ID belonged to a member of her nuclear family/The Real Ana Bray and since most of the corpses that Guardians are reborn form seem to be mostly skeletal and don’t leave a lot distinguishing figures. Now she could have that card for a number of reasons, like she took Ana’s ID card to gain clearance to a project she was not previously allowed to go, grabbed it as the real Ana Bray was dying during the Collapse. Though from your reply I am sure you aware of this as well. I just thought I’d throw in some extra details about why I think it’s possibility.
That said, you do bring up some solid points about Ana doing more digging about into the logs and data regarding the Bray family I hadn’t considered.
However, I also wonder how much data in Clovis Bray was lost and how much is still preserved. I say this because perhaps the Bray family may have taken extra special care to protect what information may have been the most vital to humanity while direct info about who they was not as vital to humanity’s survival and legacy as say SIVA, The Warminds, The Exos, etc.
Perhaps I am remembering incorrectly, information on the Bray family seems a bit more scarce than the Warminds, SIVA, and the Exos (Although the info about the Exos seems respectively more scarce than SIVA or the Warminds). Granted, Ana has more than likely done more digging then everyone else and is tied to FWC, so she very well could’ve found evidence that she is real Ana Bray provided it survived the Collapse.

Do you remember the scanable in D1 in the warmind bunker that talked about a terminal being accessed by the same pair of eyes over a few centuries? Could those be Ana's exo eyes?
Do you think MAYBE just maybe Cayde and the other exo's could be SIVA sleepers? A potential reason behind the whole mind-whipe protocols, and also perhaps a (cough) "Failsafe".

I think Ana is the most interesting Guardian. I mean to discover who you are is exciting. Now the question is how did she die in her human life? Was she wipe out by the Warmind or the darkness. Only time will tell. I hope they expand on her give us more missions helping her locate her past opening more doors inside Clovis Bay Bray facilities. Welcome home Ana.
