    Prado is for the over 50 year old men, Landrover 4 is for the 35-49 men. Cars shouldn't last forever that's boring.

    Its called the front fender mirror. It helps to spot the distance from the front of the vehicle from any kerb , footpath or the distance between your car and the front car for us Kenyans who love to overtake close to other vehicles.

    That mirror is ideal for checking blindspots on the length and rear side of the vehicle since it's convex, it has a wide-angle view.

    Interesting review. Just a thought - how about a review about living with these cars day to day e.g going to the supermarket how easy is it to load the shopping, dropping kids in school, parking in one of the basement parking slots..... In a nutshell it would be good to have a review focussed on utility from a user perspective.

    Jzus your blind the landrover has 7 seats and the drop tailgate means longer loads can be carried on the extra length! It also should have zenon headlights ! And of course on the toyota the wood grain? Helps it climb mucky hills? Toyota has springs and the lr4 has air susension please go do your research first !

    🤔, just an advice, when off-roading don't forget your seatbelt please. Otherwise great video.

    Nothing can kill a Land Cruiser, Land Rover is not reliable and it has electronics that cause every time problems.
    So yes the Prado is Number one 1...
    Thanks for this light review.

      Not a patch on the Discovery 4.
      Also the 185mm he gave as ground clearance, is the 'access height' .. to get in and out of the vehicle.
      The vehicle raises to normal road height once you start driving and can extend the height considerably when off-road. The 'minimum' off road height is 240mm .. there are a couple of levels beyond that.
      Sorry .. but this 'tester' has little idea of what he's talking about. He should have done an 'exact' comparison of each of the vehicles features.
      For example .. what are the turning circles of both vehicles? What are the torque figures? What are the on-road/off-road fuel consumption's, etc .. etc.
      This was just a 'fluff' piece for the Prado.
      Here in Australia, the Prado is considered as pretty useless when traveling the Outback!

    1. actually, the Prado has a split tailgate window so that the rear window opens.
    2. you never told us about the air suspension on the disco and how it's prone to failure and that's why most people say it's unreliable
    3. the Prado is soft sprung meaning soft suspension that translates to a cushy feeling but is very comfortable on uneven road surfaces and poor quality tarmac finishes
    all in all limited information on both vehicles

    • @irootsk
      @irootsk 2 роки тому +3

      My disco4 made in 2010 with 222k km is still running on factory air suspenssion... nothing has been changed there.
      Everything can fail and once will fail on every single car on the world... 😉
      Discovery's are not unreliable because of air suspenssion but due to engine issues.
      If you don't service your car well it could get failed.... that's all.
      BTW - do you onw Discovery 4?

    • @mwat22
      @mwat22 2 роки тому +1

      @@irootsk I don't have to own one to report on well known issues, statistics say that the air suspension fails more often than conventional suspension.

    • @irootsk
      @irootsk 2 роки тому +1

      @@mwat22 Of course air suspension could fail more often the standard with coils.... but without air suspension you are losing ability to lower/raise your vehicle and whole driving comfort.
      BTW - Prado's are also being made with air suspension or coil suspension...

    • @mwat22
      @mwat22 2 роки тому

      @@irootsk yeah rear helper springs they are there to smooth out or level the rear when loaded and if they fail the conventional suspension is there unlike the discovery.

    • @irootsk

      @@mwat22 you are mixing 2 different versions of "air" suspension on the Prado.
      You can have an ordinary air suspension which alows you to change height of the car - same as the air suspension on the Disco3/4.
      And then there is also cheaper version with classic coil and shock absorber..... as the coils is wide enough then you can add there aditional airbags.
      But that's completely different susspension system.
      It is not proper air suspension 🙂
      So Disco and Prado with real factory air suspension are exactly the same....
      airbags can fail on both cars. 😉

    Correction it’s the 2.7 that’s a PSA engine and snaps cranks. The 3.0 v6 is a Ford Lion engine and it tends to fail via oil starvation of the crank bearings 😱

      That 2.7 TDV6 does not have a trend of snapping crankshafts on the PSA applications. JLR, fitted it with a defective oil pump and specified a low oil capacity but the kicker was the change to 5w30 rather than 5w40 that PSA specified. You will see many LR3 owners changing back to the PSA oil spec.
