I really rate the second Largo show really good recording and consistent performance with "One Too Many Mornings" as a real bonus cheers

Lousy acoustics in the Cap Centre but it was always a fun place to visit. Very large indoor venue for the time. I've heard stories about problems with aggressive policing, but I never experienced that.

I was a West Coast Deadhead and the security energy on the East Coast was sooooo much more aggressive than on our side of the country. We truly had free enterprise parking lot scenes where you could buy practically anything while my own experience in the East was you could get arrested for selling sodas. NOT every city, but RFK in DC was easily my least favorite venue.

@@theopinionatedhippie470 The worst case of that I saw was in Pittsburgh at the civic arena for the Dead in 1989. Police, security, and hostile locals converged to create a very uncomfortable situation.

Congrats on 2k subs. I continue to roll along through this at essentially the same pace as you. It continues to fascinate. Is it me or is Danko turned way up as the shows progress? Did I also hear a synthesizer during the 3rd or 4th time on afternoon show? It’s like the set list is pretty much fixed but the music reshapes and is fluid and dynamic way ahead of what Bob has done the latter part of his career. Thin Man is becoming a show stopper. I like your theory of one word setting the tone for each show. Onward to the South!

Someone turned Danko way up these past couple shows….maybe just a Maryland thing? It does seem that Robbie gets a steady mix and everyone else varies from venue to venue. Helps keep the repetition compelling and gives each show a fresh sound.
The variations are subtle but as you say, it is fascinating that the same songs can create completely different vibes night after night…and not because of solos or jams. One of a kind combo, this tour.
