To say Elvis was hated is really an understatement, he was burned in effigy. He has always gotten undue hatred, judgment, and criticism while his accomplishments are lost amidst the controversy or challenged by naysayers and his charitable givings are basically known only to his most ardent fans. His life was filled with tragedies and challenges most can even fathom, for all this and his amazing talent, I will always love Elvis.

Brother, this is Elvis at his best. At the time, Elvis was dealing with his marriage being done, Priscilla moved she and his daughter to LA, and he was experiencing some major health issues that resulted in his dependency on prescription medication. But, he delivered time and again. With humility.

He was the first singer who did hip, leg movements. Back in the 50s, he was the first to try to be canceled because of that. Then he opened the doors for black artists, including Little Richard & B.B. King. Because he pushed the boundaries for his personal expression and standing up for blacks. He grew up with them in the ghetto. That is why he was so hated by the establishment.

I love your reaction and how you can relate to Elvis. He went through so much in his life, but never wavered from his true self. He was punched, thrown down a flight of stairs, threatened with death and criticized like no other entertainer before or after. The mainstream media hated him and racists hated him because he ignored segregation laws and the status quo. He studied karate most of his life and became an 8th degree black belt so he could defend himself. So many hills to climb and he fearlessly kept going. He gave so many people hope and the courage be be themselves. I feel like you have the same qualities, so hang in and keep climbing those hills. Elvis is still being criticized today for no reason other than ignorance and jealousy. We fans fight for him every day and wish all could know the man as we do.❤❤❤❤

He was literally in a prison as soon as he became famous. And his character, talent and morals have been unfairly criticized by too many people for reasons beyond me. In my opinion, he was the absolute most charismatic and iconic musical talent and entertainer of the 20th century, even tho he only lived to be 42 years old. His memory deserves better than it gets from many including Priscilla. But so many of us who loved him back then still love him today and always will.

I tried to get two sushi to review this song, because she was blown away by a couple of other Elvis songs, and I told her if you were blown away by that you will be absolutely knocked off your chair when you hear the power of this man’s voice, nobody ever sang this song, and I’ve heard quite a few versions. I’ve played Marty Robbins on the radio. He did a version, but no one ever belted it out like Elvis, what a powerful voice, and this man showed it in this song he is the king of rock ‘n’ roll the greatest of all time! This is from Aloha from Hawaii the first person to ever have a live concert satellite throughout the world at one time Elvis did it first and he did it the best.

Elvis could relate to the song. His mother didn't 'die giving him life', but he did have a twin brother who died when he was born, and he always wondered why he was the one who survived. At the pinnacle of his early fame, his mother got ill and died, just before the army sent him to Germany, and he never really got over it. In this timeframe, his wife had left him, and they were going through a divorce, with her taking their daughter.

Being from New Orleans where "King Creole" was shot on location, the term "Creole" basically is defined as a mixture of Spanish, French and African within individuals, culture and food/cuisine. It's as if someone who is considered Creole has a mixture of Spanish, French and African bloodlines. And like our jambalaya, gumbo, etouffee, bisques, etc are considered part of Creole cuisine. Being a major port city, the history of New Orleans and Louisiana in general was owned/settled by Spain and France before the US took over which mixed the cultures of those nations over time along with the African slaves which gives New Orleans that unique blend that you probably won't find anywhere else in the USA. As for this performance, this was one of Elvis' top 5 concerts of all time from start to finish!! All of the songs were top notch, and he nailed each and every one of them!!

It´s not written by or for Elvis. But Elvis covered songs that fit in Elvis live situations. Elvis was not born in the desert, but in hot south, his mother did not die just after he was born, but his mother died early in 1958. Then Priscilla, his wife left him, took Lisa Marie with her, that was actually the next mountain, he had to climbed. For all the circumstances Elvis felt in prison. Elvis the GOAT, tell all the life stories like no other.

The songs from this Satellite Concert listened to by 1.5 million people live. It was a remarkable achievement. 😢 He bleeds what he sings. A true soul stealer. That’s the greatest gift he gave us. To inspire peace 46 yrs after his death is amazing. He truly is loved by millions. They come from all over the world to visit his home, his grave and during Elvis week, his life. Haters will die out. Elvis recordings got deeper until his last. His songs lyrically are true in the world and lives today.

Look at “Elvis and the Black Community “ parts 1 & 2. He had hate when he started out from Tom middle class white people who decided he was vulgar. Love watching your incredulity at Elvis’s range and powerful voice. He loved ballads, blues, rock and roll, country, with his favourite genre being Gospel. You have so many exciting things to see and learn. King Creole was set in New Orleans in the 1950s. Elvis loved his part in this film as it was serious and gave him a chance to really act. Sadly it didn’t do well at the box office because his fans wanted more songs from him in a less serious environment, hence all the more frivolous films later on in his film career. Enjoy King Creole, and look at Jailhouse rock too. All so cool and classy. Thanks for your great reaction , looking forward to seeing so much more that will blow your mind. Elvis brought up by poor parents in a ghetto and was bullied at school. He could relate to people from all backgrounds. 👌💕🕺

Elvis has the ability to bring the listener into the song with him. I don’t know what that’s called but it’s an incredible feeling!!! Your reaction is wonderful because you listen closely to the words of the songs. Thanks 🤗

Powerful and Timeless performance. Recorded live January 14th 1973, Elvis had just filed for divorce almost a week earlier on his 38th birthday, January 8th 1973. For this concert broadcast around the world via satellite Elvis wanted a outfit that said America, thus the red white and blue and American Eagle design. TCB⚡️

Elvis was not really hated , He was certainly loved more than hated and you are responding to the lyrics of this particular song and there is no doubt that he shows all the emotion in a song that there is to show but do not forget how great his voice was too!!

I love seeing young people finally understand why he is the king and will forever be the king ! He took out the people songs and sang them better !! His voice was unbelievable !! Paul Simon said after hearing Elvis sing bridge over troubled water. I don’t think I ever want to sing that again and remember Simon and Garfunkel had a number one hit with that song. Also, Paul Simon wrote it. That is the ultimate compliment.

Look, haters are going to hate! BUT there were more people who LOVED Elvis than not! Take my word on that! When there is someone new on the scene starting out, giving his all on stage for his audience and its a new sound or beat or even shaking their hips, it scares some people for whatever reason and they can't handle it! The other haters are just jealous! Heres the fact: Elvis was and still is one of the greatest entertainer of the our time! Taken to soon, and missed by most...

Elvis was always getting death threats, so his bodyguards, the Memphis Mafia carried guns. Elvis always carried a gun. Elvis's favorite movie was King Creole. I suggest the song by Elvis- What Now you Love and American Trilogy.

I’ll tell you this… Those lyrics correspond to my lived experience as a divorced father whose wife left me and took my three year old with another dude to the bitter root of Montana from where we lived in Oregon. Yeah that was a mountain and Elvis captured the feeling exactly!
