  • Qualicum - Two people are dead after a three car collision Monday morning.
Six people were involved in the crash that took place on Highway 4 between Qualicum and Port Alberni. Two people have been pronounced dead.
One of the victims has been identified as 34-year old Rikki Easton of Campbell River. She was driving a Chevy Cavalier down the Highway when a pickup truck crossed the centre line and slammed into her.
Easton's boyfriend says he's in shock, they've been together for five years and had plans for the future.
The 37-year old man driving the GMC pick up truck also succumbed to his injuries and died in hospital. RCMP says the man's man will not be released at this time at the request of the family. RCMP say the man was seen speeding heading west bound on Highway 4.
The man who died had his 8-year old daughter in the back seat. She suffered injuries and was taken to hospital where she remains in stable condition. RCMP say she was wearing her seat belt, her Dad was not.
The accident remains under investigation while the RCMP look for the cause of the crash.
